  1. It might help you to realize that there ARE things we can eat that won't make us sick. It's good to be careful, but you don't need to give yourself anxiety attacks every time you eat something!
  2. I'm sure the ingredients are gluten-free. I think it's just that they don't have a dedicated fryer for the chips. Not sure though. A lot of people seem to eat there with no problems.
  3. The other day I was eating lunch with my mom (who also avoids gluten but she doesn't really believe me when I say I'm super crazy sensitive to trace amounts of things). Anyway right after I ate my tounge instantaneously broke out in a massive sore/hive type thing. I showed it to my mom and she seriously couldn't believe I reacted that quickly. At least...
  4. Yeah it can be tough. Some people don't believe me either. People are weird If someone gets diagnosed with diabetes, and they suddenly can't eat sugar, nobody's going to tell them they should eat sugar now just becasue they did before. Tell your friends it's kinda like that. You should also make them some really yummy gluten-free cupcakes or brownies...
  5. Lister - If you're even somewhat afraid to eat the fries then don't! The fear will just cause you stress and it will make you sick. Give the fries to your roommates or save them in the freezer or take them back to the store.....
  6. What's your favorite "drug store" brand?
  7. I stopped believing what "they" say a loooong time ago Human beings evolved without dairy...and without Cheerios
  8. I would definitley keep him off of soy milk. That definitely sounds like a soy intolerance. If he's doing well with rice milk that's great, keep him on that! I'm to the point where I barely use any sort of "milk." I'll occasionaly drink rice or almond, but it's so hard to find a milk that's soy, dairy, gluten and additive-free. Many of the non...
  9. Okay so I buy them in little packs that only have two cookies each. They're in sealed plastic. Never had a problem with them.
  10. I like Applegate Farms. It's organic and nitrite-free and gluten-free too! It might be too much grease though...
  11. Bummer...I'm not the biggest fan of Enjoy Life (although I do appreciate the zero risk of CC aspect ) but I do looove the snickerdoodles. I think they are yummy.
  12. It's healthy, natural fat though (it comes from ground raw sunflower seeds).... Anyway, if you ever decide to try them, I find them at Whole Foods and other health food stores.
  13. Have you guys tried Sunshine Organic burgers. They are gluten, dairy and soy-free...and good
  14. what are the ingredients?
  15. Here's some info. on Baja Fresh. According to this, they do not have a dedicated fryer Open Original Shared Link
  16. Hi Annie, You might want to consider eliminating the tofu (and actually all the soy - at least for the time being). It's my understanding that when soy is made into tofu, the molecular structure of the protein becomes very similiar to the molecular structure of gluten. Some people with gluten intolerance find that they also have problems with soy for...
  17. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into that. Sure. When (er if) they give it to me I'll definitely post it.
  18. There are great recipes in Living Without magazine.

    ARCHIVED Applebees

Actually a lot of people ask if corn contains gluten. Technically, it does. It's safe for us though. I just googled that place. If I were stranded in your town and I had to eat somewhere, that's where I would eat

Go to the hippy place! Hippy food is usually very celiac-friendly!
  21. Well, it depends on if you have a allergy or intolerance. I think I have both. For me, symptoms include D, C, bloating and brain fog (intolerance) as well as throat swelling and difficulty breathing (allergy). I also get hive like things on my tounge and blood blisters in my mouth.
  22. Someone needs to find that really extensive thread that discusses this topic. I can't find it right now, and I'm pretty sure parts of it got deleted....but I think the answer is still in there somewhere....
  23. Whey is not wheat. Whey is dairy.
  24. That does help. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who has issues with this. I hate being in a situation where I'm not in control of what's being injected into me. It's a really frustrating feeling...
  25. I don't really think it was their place to tell you trace amounts of gluten shouldn't be a problem. I like to support the companies that will cooperate with us, or at least give us straighforward info. It drives me nuts that all these companies don't even know what's in their products. How can you sell something and not even know what's in it???? Grrrr...
