  1. Oh yeah I have that Real Salt too (dang I spend a lot of money on salt! ). It's not as good as Himalayan or Celtic, but it's good too.
  2. You can get it at health food stores, usually in the isle with the seasonings. It's usually in a little bag. It is not cheap, but if you ever try it you will not go back to regular salt ever again
  3. It is evil huh? I can't believe how many evil things are put into our food. We don't even know what these things really are or what they actually do to us. It really makes me kind of mad. I was reading pg. 34 of your thread/book and that's what got me thinking about it. I kind of recognized all of those other additives as being harmful..and then...
  4. I just have to say, that the existence of carrageenan really annoys me! Seriously, it's in EVERYTHING at the health food store. I just read that it's the vegetarian eqivalent of casein. I wonder how many of us get sick from it and don't even know it. I think I've almost eliminated it, except it's almost impossible to find a carrageenan-free, gluten...
  5. I hope you like it! I also wanted to say I turned over my bottle of Aubrey Organics shampoo yesterday an it said "no sodium laurel sulfate, parabens or petrochemicals" right on the back. Of course it's full of soy and corn, but...I love Aubrey Organics. It is an awesome company.
  6. A good six days = progress. Hang in there. Try to find a way to limit processed foods. It might just make an enormous difference.
  7. Yep. I don't scientifically understand why that happens, but I used to be a bread addict. It was all I ever wanted to eat. I had really intense cravings for dairy too. Now that all that stuff is out of my system though, I don't crave it at all.
  8. I think it took several months for me. But now, as long as I stay completely gluten, dairy and soy-free, I can eat as many beans, lentils and raw veggies as I want with no digestive problems at all whatsoever (and I mean none!).
  9. I can relate to this too! I generally have no desire to eat meat. I find I feel better with a more balanced diet that includes complete proteins, so I do try to eat eggs, white meat, fish and occasionly pork. I don't eat animal protein daily though. I often rely on things like lentils, beans, quinoa and raw nuts. There's still plenty of food to eat,...
  10. I love that website! They have some good recipes too! Haha I'm glad I'm not the only person who enjoys reading about all that random stuff. I think they do actually mention celiac. I don't remember where though.
  11. Yep, I get delayed reactions from casein all the time. In fact, I generally react about two or three days later. Hope you feel better. Getting caseined is no fun
  12. I keep thinking the same thing! You should consider that Rachel. You've already gathered so much information, and I think you have a knack for explaining this stuff in ways that are easy to understand. If nothing else, this thread has practically turned into a book. I'm sure there are lots of lurkers out there learing all sorts of crazy things
  13. Yes, you can develop allergies to foods. It's hard to say that's what was happening to you though. Do you have a health food store nearby? You might want to find a way to purchase more basic food items for a while, such as clean organic meats, fruits, veggies, rice...single ingredient items like that. That way you can be more confident about what...
  14. Celtic Gray Sea Minerals make food taste amazing! They are ridiculously expensive, but a little bag lasts forever...and they provide all sorts of nutrients and minerals...and are definitley gluten-free!
  15. If you already ate it, I would focus on all the people who have successfully had Amy's bowls with no reactions.
  16. There's also dairy in that stuff...and you say there's marijuana involved as well, so I think it's hard to say for sure that gluten is the culprit here...
  17. Ditto. I'm so going to that BeauJo's place too.
  18. Open Original Shared Link Here's a thread in which one person mentions that planters nuts are gluten-free.
  19. With a few exepctions, it's hard to find two people with the same opinion on gluten-free breads. My dad absolutely loves ener-g, to the point where he was really excited when he discovered it. I think it's okay. Other people think its the most disgusting thing on earth. If they sell it at your local store you might as well try it, but toast it The...
  20. Glad you're doing better Rachel! Had you been eating baby carrots or whole carrots? I read an article not too long ago that explained how all baby carrots (even organic ones) are soaked in a chemical bath for a very short period of time before they are packaged. I'm not sure how credible the source was, but I kind of believed it when I read it, mainly...
  21. A lot of people will tell you no, but I honestly think it depends on the situation. I'll buy from some of the bulk bins at health food stores, but mainly the ones on the top row, where you press down on a lever thing to dispense the stuff rather than using a scoop that could be cross contaminated.
  22. Yep I've tried it. It's good stuff.
  23. what about this: Open Original Shared Link Ingredients are Saponified Olive Oil, Water, Sodium Chloride, Citric Acid Or are those hidden words for SLS? I honestly don't know
  24. You might want to check into Aubrey Organics skin care products if you haven't already. www.aubrey-organics.com I honestly don't know for a fact whether its free of sls, but the ingredients are pretty straight forward and the company would probably tell you. They point out on their website that the grain alcohol they use is gluten-free. I recently started...
  25. what kind of cleanser are you looking for?
