  1. I think it's important to remember that it's okay to feel that way sometimes...and whether they admitt it or not, pretty much every other girl on Earth can probably relate....
  2. Hmpf...the mystery of natural deodorant. lol. I had tried the crystal (the one in the pink container). I didn't think it worked. Maybe I got a faulty one lol or maybe I'm just paranoid. I just ordered one called FloralActive. It gaurentees 12 hour protection. I'm determined to not have to poison myself with aluminum!
  3. That probably also has something to do with the fact that authentic Mexican food does not use any wheat. The primary grain is corn.
  4. Is there a way to do this without cheese? Probably not huh? Do you really need the cheese? Is there something you could substitute?
  5. Yes, yes and yes. Difficulty swallowing is one of my main symptoms, along with this feeling that someone is trying to choke me.
  6. Oh okay, I'd never heard of that. That's interesting...it does make sense.
  7. Isn't it a good thing when your body is in an alkaline state? Isn't that a way to fight disease and stuff? Most people are too acidic, so maybe your urine was just really alkaline in comparison to the norm. I know someone with a severe from of brain cancer who was put on a really strict gluten-free, sugar-free, organic, alkaline diet and she's recovering...
  8. Sorry if my post didn't make sense - I meant that gluten intolerance can definitely make you more sensitive to other foods. You could have additional food intolerances, or, when you gut heals, all that might go away.
  9. The answer to that question is YES! There's all sorts of gluten in Chinese food. Soy sauce is mostly wheat (you'd think it would mostly be soy - but no )
  10. Yeah, I think that if an average person is reading that article, and the person suspects that his/her child could possibly have a "food allergy", then, if anything, they might decide that taking their child off of the possibly offending food would not be the best thing to do because A) they are risking not providing their child with adequate nutrition and...
  11. I interpreted it differently. The article seems to state that if a food challenge suggests an allergy, but a skin prick test (or other clinical testing method) proves otherwise, then the child should not be put on any sort of restricted diet, for fear of inadequate nutrition. The article does not address the fact that a food intolerance, rather than an...
  12. Thanks! I didn't know about the orange oil.
  13. Does anyone know how to clean stainless steal pans? I got a pretty inexpensive cookware set a while back and they seriously don't get clean... I made gluten-free pancakes a couple weeks ago and there's pancake residue stuff all over one of the pans. How do you get it off???
  14. I found this. Open Original Shared Link Seems to imply that all are gluten-free exept the Sport System line?
  15. Is she eating casein and soy? I wonder if it's from something like that?
  16. I'm going to continue to try and unlock the rest of the code. There has got to be more to this
  17. Well, you can inhale that stuff if you're spraying it. I was using hairspray with wheat in it for a while. Honestly, it never made me sick, but I stopped using it for my own peace of mind. I was in a ballet class a few weeks ago and I had to redo my hair really quick so I took a bobby pin out of my hair and stuck it in my mouth without thinking about it...
  18. I just came across some information that said when you first start using aluminum-free natural deodorants, your skin detoxes for several days, which can cause a strong odor. I wonder if this is true. Does anyone know? I'm wondering if some of the natural brands seem like they don't work so well in the beginning for this reason....
  19. I'm not an experienced mom, or a mom at all, but the one thing I've noticed is that kids who are diagnosed with food allergies and/or celiac disease at a very young age seem to adapt very well to social situations. I struggle with social situations myself, but I always notice that the teenagers on this board who grew up with celiac will pop on here and say...
  20. Isn't the French word for bread "pain"?...and isn't that pure gluten stuff vegetarians often eat called "seitan"? Maybe if we listened to language there wouldn't be so many undiagnosed celiacs lol.
  21. So I was reading this book about grammar and stuff and I randomly came across a fun fact: Did you know that by derivation pumpernickel means "bread that makes you fart"? In the dialectal German of Westphalia, from which it comes, pumpernickel was "originally an abusive term," says The Barnhart Dictionary of Etymology, "a compound of pumpern to break...

    ARCHIVED Casein

I'd give it at least a month. I say that because I wouldn't want you to give up on it if you don't feel better right away. The effects of casein sometimes have a way of lingering around for quite a while after you eliminate it.
  23. Careful while you reintroduce that stuff. I did the same thing and was fine with it for a while...then out of the blue one day I had a crazy intense reaction and almost lost my ability to breathe. I don't think we really build up a tolerance. I think it just kind of builds up in our body until it starts to do harm again. That's what happened to me anyway...
  24. What about jarred fruits...like pears and peaches (probably not much better huh)? Or if you can do seeds, what about raw, organic food like this stuff: www.goraw.com. I love Go Raw products...its all gluten-free and cf and I find I react less to the raw foodist type stuff because it's all properly soaked and sprouted. I think that stuff stores for a while...
  25. Depends on what brand it is. Many lipglosses are safe (I use like 5 different kinds). Let us know what it says on the label and we'll try to help you out.
