  1. I have been gluten free for 15 months. I was ttg amd Iga positive. My ttg was 100 which maxed out the reading. Range was maybe 0-7. I have been retested and all are within the 0-7 range. I do not know if I carry the gene, never been tested. No relatives with celiac. I live in Iowa, USA.
  2. I wonder if this post is referring to me? I tested high positive with blood tests and was denied an endoscopy as it was seen as unnecessary. The Dr. said they already knew it was celiac based on the extremely high blood test. I immediately went gluten free and all further testing including endoscopy which I had to beg and barter and pull strings to get...
  3. I say cut the rice. Seeet potatoes are ok. Look at the AIP food lists.
  4. I have ulcers in my stomach. I get nausea but I have never needed a heating pad. That sounds like cramps?
  5. I have celiac and eosinaphalic esophagitis. I was put on a steroid inhaler recently. I use it like an inhaler but swallow the air instead of breathing it in. You may want to look into EOE and it's relationship to celiac. Just a thought. My swallowing and celiac seem to be related.
  6. My story is yours too. Now I am 42 and after many years of regularity, it is odd, I agree. It's always a surprise. An IUD helps a little. I am however not worried. I asked a few Doctors and it is all normal. I have been gluten free for one year.
  7. Can you remind me of your carb and corn issues? Are they both brain fog? I assume you can't eat much rice? I am 42 and still figuring out what keeps me sharp. I do marketing and accounting for my husbands company.
  8. AIP is AutoImmune Protocol or Paleo. It is grain free which made a big difference in my brain fog and energy levels. I only did it for 2 weeks and then added a little grain and I am still feeling good. I feel like the AIP concept is good for people looking to reduce or eliminate autoimmune symptoms. They have a nice Facebook page where they post stories...
  9. I was just diagnosed with Ulcers as well. I feel better following the AIP diet but I don't stick with it because my husband loves food and cooking. He cooks gluten free. I drink wine and sometimes eat before bed. I thought maybe I caused it that way? I am on a pill now that coats my stomach, providing a protective barrier for the ulcers so they can heal...
  10. Thank you Nikkiann. It's nice to feel like I figured something out and am on a good path.
  11. Growing up my Dad was a competitive bodybuilder. He would go into ketosis before competitions. He knew because he used pee strips. I thought ketosis was hard on a person, as in bad for your body. Personal update: I have been grain free for a few days now and have almost completely avoided brain fog. I still eat sweet potatoes so I am getting enough...
  12. Does this mean you lose too much weight when the paleo diet puts your body in ketosis? Just making sure I fully understand your last paragraph.
  13. Can you tell my how to avoid low carb insomnia. If I don't get enough cards, i don't sleep. Where do you get carbs? Thank You!
  14. I have been oat free from the start. I eat multi grain certified gluten-free chips, rice, and popcorn. It is likely one or all of those. I look forward to figuring out if it's all grains. I have been looking at Palio AIP and the Specific Carbohidrate diets. The main differences that I want to understand are sweet potatoes, eggs, and nuts. I love...
  15. I feel like I just discovered a way to have access to my brain all day. I figured out that if I eat only protein (eggs, steak, ham, black coffee), I don't get foggy. I wanted to share this with anyone who needs a good day. Let me know if this works for you as well. I think I need my other food groups in the early evening but for now I want to try protein...
  16. What problems were caused by the PPI? I have heart pain that I thought might be anemia since I have tiny red blood cells (caused by celiac and my malabsorption). I end up very fatigued every year late January-March. I sometimes wonder if it could be even be related to vitamin D since I live in a cold climate. Always trying to heal myself. I don...
  17. Where in Iowa. I live in the Quad Cities and am finding it not to difficult to live with celiac. I love vegetables though.
  18. This is all great info! Sorry to hog the brain fog glutening question but I am loving this info! Do you eat potatoes or drink wine?
  19. If you cut out carbs do you get crabby and stop sleeping?
  20. I know this is not recommended by anyone with a background in healthcare but I am 41 and have brain fog as my main symptom. My coping strategy is 2 cans of diet Mountain Dew. I am gluten free but still eat rice, popcorn, and gluten-free multigrain chips. What made you decide to cut all grains? I have contemplated it but am not sure if the benefits...
  21. Since going gluten free in March, I have gained 5 lbs. I am short so 5 lbs is bad. I feel your pain. My Dr. is happy as she feel that it indicates healing. I do feel better, just bigger. Sorry I can't offer help. I am not on meds. Just supliments.
  22. Oats are a cousin to wheat. It could simply be the oat biscuits. Even if they say gluten free, many of us probably react to oats too. I had trouble in the beginning from Kind bars due to the oats. Do you like any rice based biscuits?
  23. I also have a lump feeling on my throat. It is the side of my Adam's apple. My endoscopy showed Open Original Shared Link, H Pilori positive, gastritis, and hiatal hernia. No wonder I keep clearing my throat. I apologize for the link mid sentence. I just wanted to provide some potential reasons for some of your issues. Open Original Shared...
  24. Enjoy non breakfast foods. Yesterday I had chicken for breakfast and I felt great.
  25. Apparently my tums was causing a rebound of my acid and not really helping. I had to switch to one of the ones you stay on full time. I also had chest pain from acid. Your ferretin issue sounds interesting. Omiprozol for acid fixed a lot of my symptoms and I don't think it interfered with iron absorbing.
