  1. Today at work I was given the task of making a single entree for one person that was with a family of 7 shellfish free, because the person is deathly allergic to shellfish. Now, as a Caliac I started to freak out, as a Chef I know what its like to deal with picky customers and I used to make fun of people like Celiacs for being so damn picky, but now that...
  2. Just be warned, gluten-free Beer does NOT taste the same as real beer
  3. uhg, I'm just glad I don't live with my parents anymore, and that I'm some 75 miles away, my mom always butts in when we eat out and say "my son can't have any gluten, AT ALL" and when I tell her to please leave ME to ME she gets all pissy and so does the rest of my family. Come on! I can handle myself! LEAVE ME BE!
  4. I've been gluten free for about 3 weeks, symptoms went away quickly and I felt great, solid stools feel sooo good , minus one day of heavy gluten, woke up the next morning with an extreme hangover, the type I usually get after drinking a case of beer. And ever since this one time of gluten (was a week and ahalf ago) I've been feeling groggy, tired, and...
  5. At work I am often doused in flour for making pizzas, breading chicken, or thousands of other items, plus I am a Pasta Chef, will contact with Gluten have adverse effects or does ingesting it only affect a person?

To be completely off subject now, I notice a lot of people on here (including myself) are from Colorado, why is that? Do you all go to the same support group?
  8. I was there about a month ago and walked away with: Gluten free Brownie (B+), Gluten free Chicken Cordon Blue with Mushroom Risotto (A-), "Country White Bread"(Expensive for its small size, and second or so ingredient is clarified butter, but tastes great and is NOT dry at all; A-), a Large gluten-free Pizza with homemade dough and sauce A++++ Fantastic!...

  10. I too am always dehydrated, my urine is always dark yellow, my mouth always dry, and I drink 5-6 liters of water a day.
  11. My dad recently had 2 6packs shipped to me to try out, each 6pack sells for $11 and shipping is $11 per 6pack, ridiculous cost if you ask me. The flavor was not to bad, considering I hadn't had a beer in a good month or so before hand. Until I tried Lakefront Brewery' "New Grist Beer" which is brewed using Sorghum Flour, this is by far better than the Ramapo...
  12. I have the same problem, mine is caused by Tonsil Rocks (Tonsil Stones). They are little white things that form in the pits of your tonsils and you can often cough them up and they kind of look like cauliflower but smell like the inside of a dead cat that was inside of a dead horse. You can get rid of em by getting your tonsils removed, or just deal with...
  13. Hey! I live in Denver and have been to Debys once and their gluten-free Pizza is fantastic as well as their gluten-free Breads and other items, had a gluten-free Chicken cordon blue which was superb with rissoto. Only problem is I live off of colfax andDebys is clear down south, wayyyy down south. Otherwise I would have gone back more often, especially...
  14. I too have a horrid body odor, mainly my feet though. They are always wet and sweating and just absolutely stink! Everybody around me notices the smell, no matter how much I wash them they still smell, and if I put in drying powder, it just creates dough. Very frustrating being somewhere and having other people put their fingers near their nose to cover...
  15. VERY Interesting reading up on your post about hte "itch attack" I myself often have "itch attacks" and hadnt had one in a few days, then last night when I ate some of my grandmothers homemade cookies (hadnt had gluten for atleast 5 days before that) I just freaked out! I was up for a good 2 hours or so itching like mad and in the fetal posiiton because...
  16. Thank you for the fast responses, when I said "IT DOESNT DIE?" was not serious Of course gluten isn't alive, but I was just curious as to whether there is a temperature that gluten can experience in which it will not be reactive to my body anymore. Since most fryers are at 350degrees F BTW, I'm a chef Which is crappy since I can't really taste anything...
  17. Hello, I was blood tested about 2 weeks ago for celiac and tested positive on one of the two tests. I still need to schedule a biopsy to make sure. However, I had been gluten-free for the past week and woke up tired, but not in a "fog." Last night however, my grandma sent me a huge container of freshlybaked homemade cookies and...
