ARCHIVED Called Quaker Today
skinnyminny replied to Frances03's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
So I called quaker about the gluten free labeling on the rice cakes I purchased the other night. I asked if they were produced on seperate lines or just gluten free ingridents. The kind representative told me that they are produced seperately, she said if there was a chance it was cross containimated the product would say either produced on lines that contain... -
ARCHIVED Called Quaker Today
skinnyminny replied to Frances03's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I found the gluten free quaker rice cakes at kroger tonight! The big rice cakes say gluten free, the chocolate flavor and apple cinnamon! I hope the small quakes become gluten free as well. I will call tom to make sure they are on seperate lines but I feel like they would be. Because if you call they warn you about cross containimation but ingridents are... -

skinnyminny replied to homemaker's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I just made this bread tonight in my cusinart bread machine. I followed the recipe exactly except I substitututed one and a half cups of Bobs red mill all purpose baking mix in replace of the millet 1/2 cup and 1 cup of the brown rice flour. It turned out nicely. The texture is great. It did not rise to the top of my bread pan but still was tall enough. How... -

ARCHIVED Betty Crocker Cake Mix
skinnyminny replied to jkmunchkin's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Ha exactly what I thought! I had a pumpkin craving and used what I had on hand. I am wondering if you could use the cake mix to make a pumpkin roll. But these are way easier no flipping out of the pan, rolling or messy powder sugar! -
ARCHIVED Any One Hv To Drop Out Of School To Get Better?
skinnyminny replied to cyoshimit's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
My parents had to convience me that it would be smarter in the long run to sit out. Which makes sense I wouldn't have been able to do the quality of work or make the grades I needed in the shape I was in, it was hard to grasp at first but when you think about it, the choice to sit out take care of yourself and come back healthy and ready makes great sense... -

skinnyminny replied to cyoshimit's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I am a college student and I fill for you. Celiac can be hard enough and to add the demands of school with teachers who do not understand it makes life hard! I have had Celiac for 8 years but a year ago I got really sick and had to sit out a semester. I do not regret taking the semester off. I was able to get my health in check and focus on school better... -
ARCHIVED Betty Crocker Cake Mix
skinnyminny replied to jkmunchkin's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I made relatively healthy pumpkin muffins with the yellow cake mix. I substituted the butter with pumpkin and they are so moist! I used 1 box yellow cake mix 1 cup pumpkin puree cinnamon to taste.. I happen to love it! 3 eggs 1 tsp vanilla 1/4 cup milk mixed the eggs, milk, vanilla and pumpkin. then added mix and cinnamon pour into 14 muffin... -

ARCHIVED Healthy Breakfast Ideas
skinnyminny replied to Lawrence's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Bob's redmill Hot and Tasty cereal is a good option. It is similar flavor to oatmeal. It has 4 grams of fiber and no sugar. For flavor I add cinnamon, blue berries and soy milk. A cereal like this or one with more fiber and less sugar will help you stay full longer. -
ARCHIVED Enjoy Life Granola
skinnyminny replied to runnerkat's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
This is good to hear I am one of the weirdo's who actually really liked the old version of the granola. However I bought a bag of the new formulated cereal and nearly broke a tooth. I mean it was harder than the original so hopefully I just got a fluke bag of the new recipe! I will try it again -

skinnyminny replied to Ashley's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I have been to matteos a few times or mainly picked up a pizza there. Its not too bad and the owner is very well informed and bakes the crusts on seperate days to prevent cc. But its not much of a place to go eat. They have one table and its there for you to eat at if thats what you choose but they focus more on take out or delivery. You can also buy the... -
