blueeyedmanda replied to TriticusToxicum's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
OMG, Patti I completely know what you mean. One day, they shut the water off in our development for a few hours to do something....I was terrified and in my head making notes of what to do in case of an emergancy! -

So I always make Gluten Free Pantry truffle brownies. The last few times, I noticed that they would crumble when we were cutting them. This even happened when they had been cooled completely. So two nights ago I made them and saw on the package where it said to cool in a freezer for best results...This could't have been more wrong. I stuck the tray in the...

ARCHIVED Oil? Cross Contamination? Hidden Gluten?
blueeyedmanda replied to Offthegrid's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Sometimes, it takes a while before certain people can tolerate high fats. This could be something to look into. It could be CC too, that is being overlooked. I know that had stumped me a few times in the begining. -
ARCHIVED Celiac Is Triggered? What Exactly Does That Mean?
blueeyedmanda replied to ItchyMeredith's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
From what I have read it means, that an illness, accident, tramua, or stress can bring celiac out of being "dormant" It is said that celiac is genetic, but some people, including myself did not even start having symptoms until I was an adult. I hope this helps. I tried to take a medical term and make it into people's words. -
ARCHIVED Medication--gluten Free? How Do You Know
blueeyedmanda replied to bookworm's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
The best bet is to call the company on your own. This way you can hear the answer for yourself instead of through the grapevine and you can also ask any other questions you might have. Good Luck. -

ARCHIVED Company Christmas Party
blueeyedmanda replied to Kathy'sUnicorns's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I would go and mingle with your work friends. How often is it that you guys get to hang out outside the workplace where you can relax and be yourselves. I would eat before hand and if they have fruit and veggies or safe looking things snack on that kind of stuff. Don't worry too much about the food and have fun! -

ARCHIVED Need Help Finding Reason For Daughters Itching
blueeyedmanda replied to jmomee99's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Maybe she is starting to react to detergent. Both my sister and my husband can be fine with detergent and then on some days it bothers them. We switched to the ALL allergan free and clear. No one has had problems since. Not sure if this could be the case for your daughter, but it is worth checking out. -

There is Barley Malt in them.... If you have a Wegmans near you, they have Strawberry Corn Flakes under their own label, you find it in the Organic Section. It is organic. I have had it and it is very good. It is labeled gluten free too. -

the first thing done wrong here was with the whole needle prick. I work in a hospital and for years worked in a lab processing blood work, when a nurse or employee gets a injury with a sharp or blood tube, both the employee and the patient are notified immediately. Both have the blood drawn, (2) 5ml red tubes, which are tested for HIV, HEP's etc. There... -

Does that mean the funky closet lady comes back again? I will try to get a few pictures scanned in today and into a new avatar :) It is so exciting looking at them, there are things I don't remember from that day already, it was a big blur. It will be nice when the DVD is done so I can really see what it was all like.
