  1. If you saw my house you would know that I don't do it all. In fact, I hardly get any of it done! I actually wrote the note around 4 am while sitting up with Megan in PCCU trying to stay awake. I haven't written the first one since getting home. Vincent and Kristy were just lucky. You're right, I never sleep, but not because of writing...
  2. I'm in tears!!!!! God is good all the time and all the time, God is good!!! You never know what trials may bring, but for both of us it brought a wonderful friendship and kinship. I'm so glad Tymber is doing so much better. What a blessing!
  3. I just posted to caring bridge. This is it. I'll give Vincent a break and try to post here too. ************************************************ Just wanted to let all of you know that Megan had a great weekend. Our church sign said "Megan is home - God is Good". I think that says it all! She only needed tylenol once all weekend and we think...
  4. My son went through testing for 3 years and we got now conclusive results. I finally did a diet trial starting in january and the difference was AMAZING. The tests are highly inconclusive for kids under 5. I recommend doing a diet trial for 3 mos. and see if he doesn't improve. If he doesn't after a strictly gluten free diet for taht long, then gluten...
  5. So glad she's doing well! Good luck on the food trials!
  6. Here's a list I started a while back that might be helpful. Open Original Shared Link
  7. here is a list I started a while back for newly diagnosed. so glad she's already better. Open Original Shared Link
  8. My son didn't walk til 16 mos, had speech delays, was FTT, brittle hair, tooth enamel defects (just had dental surgery for 7 crowns and 3 fillings), constant D and gas. He had classic symptoms, but he had 3 negative biopsies and inconclusive blood work by the time he was 3. I finally just put him on the diet for a 3 month trial, and we're never going back...
  9. This is a list I put together for people keeping my son. • Delimex Taquitos - double check ingredients since some have wheat • Oscar Mayer Hot dogs and bologna • Hormel microwave bacon • Kraft Cheese – singles, mozzarella, and cheddar • Mission Corn tortillas He likes these made into quesadillas and pizzas. To make the pizzas, put one tortilla do...
  10. Keep in mind that you might not find a positive diagnosis. My son's blood tests were inconclusive and 3 biopsies were negative. We finally tried the diet and the changes were miraculous. I found out that testing in kids under 5 are often inconclusive. It took 3 weeks for normal stools. If he gets gluten accidentally, he had D uncontrollably. That's...
  11. Vincent - LOVE the smiley. I think it's actually a picture of me as we left the hospital yesterday!!!! As you read, the gagging is still bad. I still have hopes it will improve. Made a followup with the GI today for 8/23. I'm going to think positive and say that by then the gagging will be gone and we won't have to worry about it! I'm so excited...
  12. I thought you of you and Tianna many times last week while away for Meg's surgery. I'm so glad she's back and doing better. Still praying for both of you!
  13. Thanks everyone for the welcome home!!!! Meg is doing well, just fussy. Her incision site is itching and she's trying to scratch it. Just called the surgeon and he said benedryl cream would be ok to try and that seems to be helping. Things are busy around here, but I hope I can start joining in around here more now. Each of you have been such a blessing...
  14. I haven't checked in here for a few days and I am overwhelmed by the love seen here. You people are really amazing. I just never would have imagined that this many people whom I've never met in person would spend this much time praying for and thinking about my precious baby girl. Each of you are being His hands and feet and we are forever blessed by you...
  15. I just had to check in and see how all my prayer warriors are doing!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Vincent for keeping everyone in the loop. I'm crying at the love I feel from all of you. I've read your entries on her guestbook and words can't express how wonderful each of you are. I'll keep updating as things progress. Love and Hugs! Gotta...
  16. Megan had a pretty good day today. We've been very busy packing. Our preacher came by and annointed her. My parents are here and Jarod's parents will meet us in Nashville tomorrow to help with Dr. appts. So far we're not in Ronald McDonald House, but hopefully we will tomorrow. Thanks to all of you for the constant prayers and support you have given...
  17. Thanks for the offer Vincent, but a cleans house is the LEAST of my worries right now! We've had a nice relaxing day and meg seems to feel pretty good today. Only a couple sweating spells. She's loving all the attnetion since one of us holds her most of the time. I guess it's ok to spoil her a little, though, isn't it?

    ARCHIVED A Calling?

I've been referred to as the Celiac Nazi more than once! I finally convinced my uncle to be tested yesterday! A friend of mine was so symptomatic, as was her kids, so I called her and explained gluten-free living. They tried the diet and feel soooo much better. Her daughter has been trying to have kids for years and not able to. She's now 5 weeks...
  19. I know it sounds crazy, but I'm not exactly sure. I never thought I had issues with gluten because I didn't have the typical symptoms. I just realized one day that I didn't need the tylenol anymore. It was probably 3-4 mos. I hope you feel better soon!
  20. I've had bad joint pains all my life, including in my hands and wrists. I was told they were growing pains by my dr. as a child after the RA test was negative. I still had growing pains at 29. I went gluten-free for my celiac daughter whom I was nursing and after a couple months I noticed the pains had stopped. If I eat gluten accidently they come back...
  21. I did a post for new celiacs a while back. at the end is a list of regular products that list gluten. Open Original Shared Link
  22. Thanks. It means so much to know that you really do understand how scary this all is. I think having it early will be better on us since we won't have all day to get worked up about it. I can't remember the day of the week Megan had her last surgery, but I know it was 4/29. We're looking forward to having a nice weekend at home where we don't worry...
  23. Chelsea, This may be on some other thread, but did you change your id? I'm confused!!!!
  24. I guess I should have said we were fostering him, but he still looks at this as being a home for him. He's in a theraputic program now. He ran away when Megan was in the hospital last year. I wasn't because of her, though. He was mad because he had gotten grounded and wanted to go to a skating party. He decided to hitch hike, then was scared to come...
  25. I'll try not to call too late! Hopefully we've asked all we will have to of you already. It's really hard for me to ask for help, but I think God is trying to teach me that it is ok through all of this. I've always wanted to be the one that gave help and not asked for it. Again, Thanks! Robbin, I know it's TMI, but the only reason I have any time...
