Instead of toothpaste (an abrasive) I rinse with a tartar control mouthwash then brush with a cheap electric toothbrush.

I’m Done and Feel Like Giving up

A ten-ounce bottle of liquid magnesium citrate costs <$2.00. One ounce has about 100 mg of magnesium (11% of 1.75) grams. Added to a glass of water it tastes like lemonade (I especially like the cherry flavor). The RDA is 420 mg magnesium with no upper limit from food sources. Web MD: magnesium citrate oral -

Regarding vitamin D, I have been taking 10,000 IU a day since 2015. In 2019 my blood plasma was 47 ng/ml. In Aug 2021, 87ng/ml and Jan 2022 it was 80. My 42-year-old son, diagnosed with Celiac Disease as an infant in 1976 recently was tested as low for vitamin D. Here's the kicker: He works year-round in the sun as an ocean lifeguard in Southern Florida. ... -

My takeaway of this study is that it is not so much the alkalinity itself of the diet, but the increased minerals found in those foods. -
Budesonide may help control your symptoms, but it will not cure your condition. https://medlineplus.gov/druginfo/meds/a608007.html Budesonide is a delayed release steroid, so the theory as I understand it of using the open capsule in refractory celiac disease by opening the cap more of the steroid is localized at the small intestine and less...

Newly Diagnosed Celiac Disease

Really out on a limb here; but could that mean chronic low B12 is a symptom of Choline deficiency? -
Newly Diagnosed Celiac Disease
Wheatwacked replied to Redanafs's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Could be when you adjusted your diet to gluten-free you also cut back on choline, disabling the backup to MTHFR, which led to high homocysteine (indicator of cardo vascular inflammation) and that inflammation resulted in embolisms? MTHFR is a key enzyme in the FA-dependent pathway; the FA-independent pathway utilizes choline or betaine to produce methionine... -

By my count there are 17 absorbed in the duodenum/small intestine. B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9, B12, Calcium, Choline, Copper, D3, Iodine, Iron, vitamin K, Magnesium, Potassium, Zinc. Scary, right? -

Old fashioned cow's milk (ie pasture fed cows) has 147 times as much omega 3 as commercial milk. We have less inflammation when the omega 6:3 ratio is >1:2. The standard American diet is around 14:1. No wonder we're inflamed, and omega 3 oil supplements help. Beyond its critical function in calcium homeostasis, vitamin D has recently been found to... -
I kept a nutrient log for about two years. A sample http://nutrientlog.doodlesnotes.net/ Like everyone I assumed if I chose healthy GFD foods I was good to go, but I kept hitting plateaus. First was vitamin D and iodine, trial based on my symptoms. I added one at a time. Later I started the spreadsheet and followed NIH recommended RDAs.

Newly Diagnosed Celiac Disease
Wheatwacked replied to Redanafs's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Everyone is different. Some say six months and up. I think it depends on your food choices beyond just GFD. Celiac is a disease of malabsorption of the 10 or so vitamins and minerals absorbed in the small intestine, so you need to replenish what you are low on and get enough to develop reserves. -
What I Supplement: Thiamin(B1) 500 mg, Niacin(B3) 500 mg, B complex; Pantothenic Acid (B5) 1000 mg; Phosphatidyl Choline 840 mg; Lithium 5 mg; Dhea 100 mg; vitamin C 1000 mg; Calcium 1000 mg; vitamin D3 250 mcg (10,000 IU); 5 mg lithium orotate; 15 ml Cod Liver Oil (vitamin A and omega 3); 3 sheets certified organic Nori (RDA iodine), 2 oz almonds (RDA vitamin...

Aha. Still, something in your food choices since gluten free has resulted in cold feet. There are fortifications added to milled grains that you may not be getting enough of now. Almost 95 percent of the white flour in the United States is enriched with iron and four of the B vitamins: thiamin, niacin, riboflavin and folic acid.

I buy each vitamin by itself. That way I can gauge its individual effect. Cost wise I think it may even be cheaper, because I am not paying for some exotic super nutrient or combo that markets well but does not help. I know there are lots of studies on bioavailability, but they all go into the stomach where they are processed at pH 2 and then the resulting... -
Do you mind sharing those test results and homocysteine if you have it? I've had some good results recently from 500 mg Thiamine supplement on my cold feet issues. Increasing calories (but not carbohydrates seems to help) I prefer Daisy Cottage Cheese. Tapioca starch has a high glycemic index which can spike blood sugar which is known to cause...

glutening Celiac and Mental Illness
Wheatwacked replied to Squiishtopher's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Yes. Modern wheat was created through mutagenesis, a type of hybridization pre-GMO technology and is exempt from GMO oversight. Norman Borlaug received a Nobel Prize for it in 1970. I do believe in better living through chemistry, but sometimes profit trumps safety.- 17 replies

COVID-19 a Possible Trigger for Celiac Disease in Those with Genetic Risk
Wheatwacked commented on Scott Adams's article in Latest Research
We conclude that the vaccination response, measured as SARS-CoV-2 IgG concentration, does not depend on 25(OH)D status in healthy adults with moderate vitamin D status. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34829945/ Does not seem like anyone has looked at its effect on people with low or deficient vitamin D status who are vaccinated. Do you know...- 70 comments

You have your answer. The issue here is your health and what makes you feel better; not whether the doctor agrees with you. As a fact out of left field, the Icelandic Eskimos never had diabetes until they started eating a "western diet" in the 1950's. Wheat is stripped of most of its nutrients in milling (except gluten) and most countries have fortification...

glutening Celiac and Mental Illness
Wheatwacked replied to Squiishtopher's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have always believed in it. Mankind managed to survive without double blind studies on what to eat for a long time. But that was before advertising, peer pressure and GMO and chromosome manipulation of wheat. For it to work you have to first rebuild your reserves of all the essential vitamins and minerals, so you are responding to needs as opposed to cravings...- 17 replies
