  1. Okay, that looks pretty convincing...
  2. Sending you lots of love and [[[[[[[[HUGS]]]]]]]]]]....still praying!
  3. We just showed up there with another family, and I figured, well, I can always ask for plain grilled meat and salad if they don't have agluten-free menu. Boy, were they nice to me! The waitress said they didn't have a gluten-free menu, but that the manager was very familiar with gluten-free, so the manager came by and said, "Just tell me what you'dlike...
  4. Is there any long-term research on Zantac?
  5. I'm sorry you had such a tough day. I was worried when I saw you hadn't posted last night. Could she be cutting molars? Or coming down with something? I know it's not much comfort, but even healthy babies have days where they cry all day. Whatever it is, you will know much better than anyone, as you read her so well. (Does she need to...
  6. atenolol makes my husband sleepy--he can barely stay awake!
  7. Hi, Judy, I'm on two of your meds, and my husband is on two others of your meds! The only thing that jumps out at me is that it's alot of meds for one person. When my husband and I started seriously exercising and getting outdoors for an hour a day, my sleep problems totally disappeared, my thyroid dosage went down, my bad cholesterol went down, I felt...
  8. I feel for you--I had severe morning sickness throughout all 3 of my pregnancies. For nibbles, almonds and rice crackers worked well for me, but the best was fresh strawberries--I ate them constantly, and they NEVER came back up. Meat and fish, on the other hand, never stayed down. Sea-bands did absolutely nothing, but try them anyway--one of my friends...
  9. I tried the clear nail polish on the back of my watch. It didn't work for me. The reason I was wondering if it's related to celiac is that I was told it's related to asthma (?!), and it does seem like all these autoimmune things are related...
  10. I totally blame doctors. I don't care what they are told by the pharmaceutical companies. The doctors are supposed to be the brightest and most well-educated professionals in our society, and they DO take an oath to "first, do no harm." In my experience, very few of them actually use their brains and THINK, and most of them do irreparable harm.
  11. This is a very interesting discussion. I gotta say, we can't talk about trusting in mainstream medicine and hundreds of years of science, etc.--it's mainstream medecine that tells most of us that we either aren't sick, or it's in our heads, or we have IBS, etc. I don't know who disgusts me more, the quacks or the mainstream medical doctors--they are...
  12. I've never seen anything gluten-free at costco (esxcept for fruit and vegies).
  13. Hi, Forrest's Mom, Welcome aboard! I never had problems with gluten until this year--but I grew up in a low-gluten household (my mom simply didn't like pasta and bread, so she never served them)! I wasn't even short (I'm 5'6"0 BUT I have a host of auto-immune problems, and that, I believe, is the real danger with celiac/gluten intolerance. Having...
  14. If it works only in an acid environment like the human stomach, then the hundreds of us who are on acid-blockers either have to go off our acid-blockers or not take this....
  15. HOLY CRAP. (literally!)
  16. Sheesh, I didn't check this thread for 1 day, and I got several pages behind! So for all of you with chicken problems--have you tried organic chicken? I was just wondering. I thought maybe those lovely pesticides, antibiotics, and growth hormones might be the problem...
  17. Hi, I'm just checking in on you--how are you doing?
  18. (Mr. Rogers' voice): Can you say, "Gluten Intolerance?"
  19. Hi, Judy, glad you've got some chicken soup! (I wonder if it would help to soak your leg in it? ) Rent a bunch of funny movies and laugh laugh laugh--bacteria HATE laughter!!!! Hope you have a good night!
  20. Tanya, You and Megan are now on my physical therapist's dad's prayer chain (he's a minister). Quick smile: When the Pittsburgh Symphony goes on tour, we usually get to the airport or bus terminal very early to be on the safe side--and then we nearly always have a gate change (because we went to the wrong gate on account of being so early), so all ...
  21. Oh, Tanya, what you've been through-- I'm glad the Reglan is working, and I'm glad you're home. REst, put the kids in front of a video for a change, and MOO! Love, Alison
  22. I totally forgot to ask--do you have a decent pump?? That can make all the difference. I used one of those hospital-grade Medela pumps, and it was great. Months later, when I went back to work, I tried another kind, also a double-pump, and I got maybe 1/4 of the milk the big Medela got, so it really does make a big difference! Hang in there! If you...
  23. My oldest son used to have poops like that. The doctor just kind of shrugged, he wasn't any help. But he hardly ever has poops like that any more. He is not gluten-free, but since I developed a problem with gluten, he is certainly "gluten-lite" now (gluten at lunch only).
  24. Hang in there! I went through exactly the same thing. My milk supply did not increase until I learned that pumping every 3 hours is not nearly enough (SORRY!). Seriously, try every 1-2 hours, especiallyduring the day (you can probably get away with every 3 hours at night if you do more during the day)--and drink drink drink--youcan't make milk if you're...
  25. T, you and Megan are now offically on the "prayer hotline" with the Sisters of Divine Providence. (And I'm adding my own, too, every night.)
