  1. ANY preservatives or processed food ingredients will aggravate GERD. Eat natural foods all day long like fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, and meat and you will be as close to rid as GERD as you will ever be. This bread is heavily processed.
  2. You would be better off eating fish itself rather than a Frankenstein creation of soy, cellulose and fish oil that is pressed out of a fish, reprocessed and preserved for human consumption inside a capsule inside a bottle with silica stabilizer for freshness.
  3. There are some nut based bars but overall you are unlikely to find too much on this front.

They can accommodate. The long trip routes have chefs on board and I have heard that they can whip up plain chicken, plain veggies, stuff like that.
  5. hi i am from long island

  6. By any chance do you reside in the NY-NJ-CT Tristate area??
  7. Brain fog: 4-6 months to clear. Stomach problems: depends on your level of determination. You are well advised to eat a totally natural diet, no processed foods, and to start at a very basic level and go from there. Start with plain cooked brown rice for two days. If stomach is okay then add plain chicken for two days. If stomach is still okay then...
  8. Get tested first for deficiencies. Don't take supplements for things you are in the normal range for. The supplements will just irritate the stomach and not be beneficial. But get retested for deficiencies every 6 months at least because you will cut a number of items from your diet in the next year and may lose some vitamin intake without realizing it...
  9. Ingredients: Sugar, corn syrup, hydrogenated palm kernel oil, apple juice from concentrate, less than 2% citric acid, dextrin, modified corn starch, natural and artificial flavors, coloring (includes yellow 6 lake, yellow 5 lake, blue 2 lake, yellow 5, red 40, yellow 6, blue 1 lake, blue 1), ascorbic acid (vitamin 3). Whether they contain gluten or not...
  10. You clearly have gluten sensitivity at the very least. Just get a doctor to write a note that says "my recommendation is that AKcollegestudent adhere to a strictly gluten free diet while he/she resolves certain health issues. Eating in the communal dining hall could pose a health risk to him/her at this time". Doctors do this all the time, its no big...
  11. There are many people who have slightly elevated bloodwork and biopsies that are either negative or just unclear for celiac disease, who respond positively to the gluten free diet. It is sometimes never clear whether these people have celiac disease or not. Often times, the doctor will eventually diagnose the case as celiac disease if there is significant...
  12. Okay a good question to ask is: Did this food item exist 100 years ago? Example: Uncle Ben's Brown Rice - this item did not exist in 1910. Thus, it is processed. Compare that to plain raw brown rice. This item DID exist and was eaten in the same form 100 years ago, thus unprocessed. If you told people you were drinking soy milk 100 years ago they would...

  14. You can't eat wheat. Life could be MUCH worse.
  15. Don't eat processed foods. The end.
  16. Absolutely. Certain sensitivity levels do not seem to indicate much. If anything, my impression is that the majority of classic celiacs are only allergic to gluten. Take that and perhaps dairy out of their diets and they do well. My impression of people who are merely gluten intolerant is that it is a symptom of some poorly defined stomach problem they...

I agree. Who complained about the old board? This is not change I can believe in.
  18. What does rice have to do with HFCS? Anyway, try pure brown rice like the lundberg brand, cooked in a rice cooker. You want to avoid Uncle Bens and Minute Rice right now. Also, try germinated brown rice.
  19. The doctors will tell you to avoid tomato, caffeine, alcohol, etc. The truth of the matter is that if you can cut down on ALL processed food you will do fairly well in my experience. I eat tomatoes and I eat citrus like oranges and grapefruit, but I don't eat altered foods like tomato sauce and orange juice, and I'm rid of my GERD. There are many many...

    I don't like the green.
  21. Is anybody else here also from Wheatland?
  22. Bring your own cleaning solution and sponge. Before he throws the steaks down on the grill, say excuse me to the strangers sitting around the hibachi, then get up and wipe down one quadrant of the grill. Tell the chef that area is reserved for your steak. Then tell him to grill some veggies for you in the same area. Keep a close eye on the chef and...
  23. I have not had milk or cheeses of any kind in a couple years. You can get adequate intake of calcium from fruit, vegetables, and nuts. Eat 2 oranges a day, some greens and some almonds. And make sure you get vitamin D somehow. If you are dairy intolerant then yeah-- you should not have dairy of any kind including cheese. Probably once you cut that out...
