  1. Hate to sound harsh, but have you considered going cold turkey on the gum for awhile? Your profile indicates you have a number of unresolved stomach issues, and while gum cannot fairly be said to cause any of them, it certainly won't help either. Gum and mints are wholly processed Frankenstein creations. Chew on mint leaves or something instead.
  2. whistle & flashlight.
  3. Your brother gave you repackaged snake oil.
  4. Are we supposed to eat cast iron pans? How do you prepare yours?
  5. My low sex drive is due to being married for 2 years.
  6. Anybody with suggestions?
  7. Does anybody have experience with receiving a vitamin D shot in England, Canada, Australia or anyplace else? They are no longer made or used in the U.S.
  8. Probably a small number of chains out there and in neighboring nassau county that would cater to you. There must at least be an outback in queens. If all hope is lost hop the E train to Manhattan and transfer to 6 train uptown (first stop in Manhattan). A stop or two on the 6 train will drop you off in a neighborhood with several dining options, in the...
  9. Good luck with that. Those places are all divey tourist traps, not the type that usually cater to the gluten-free crowd.
  10. Anyone familiar with gluten-free friendly hotels here? Restaurants advice needed too! Thanks
  11. Never heard of a celiac B&B in NYC. Don't think there are many B&Bs. However, if they can stay around 75th street on the east side, that is ground zero for gluten free dining options.
  12. Available at multiple stadium concessionaires! Thanks, Ravens!
  13. I've returned with some clarifications. First, I am 5'8, and about 135 pounds. No muscle, but I would like to add some. However, I seem too weak to do so since I started my grain free diet. Relatedly, my cortisol levels have risen on this diet, and I am chronically tired now. Breaking my grain fast and eating rice alleviates these issues. Thus,...
  14. I eat about 4 potatoes per day, in addition to green veggies and fruit, and some nuts. But I appear underweight and can't gain any weight. This is problematic because I am a young guy.

ARCHIVED Good Gi Doctor In Nyc?

Jim Marion, who is one of Steinauf's partners, is also pretty good. Don't believe he takes any insurance though. You should ask about the cost of the visits because I think they are reasonable.
  16. It can take months to recover.
  17. There is no corn allergy test that respectable doctors heed. I developed this allergy or intolerance a couple years after going gluten free as well. It is the hardest thing to remove from your diet.
  18. Another allergy/intolerance could send the number up again, or send it higher. In my case, 5 years after I thought I had gluten intolerance under control, corn sent my TTG level up and I developed the same problems I had when eat gluten.

    ARCHIVED Dietician In Nyc?

Just pony up and see Green's nutritionist. She is as good as you'll find in the city, and the cost could be worse. I give her mucho credit for identifying a major secondary food allergy that I could not pin down.
  20. Enjoy Life Boom Choco Boom chocolate bars. I have not seen much else in the way of soy free chocolate, other than a brand of organic hot cocoa, and I have been searching for years.
  21. Regarding celiac centers...there are three in the NYC metro area. However, I do give these guys big credit for this: The Kogan Celiac center has a program called steps to sucess. It a 4 part package. This is probably very helpful. People need a list of things that can go wrong and be associated with celiac that they can be checked out for. I...
  22. go see Green's nutritionist. her knowledge/advice got me out of a five month problem with what appears to be corn intolerance.
