  1. No you can't take them for too long. Some people need to be on them forever. I am not sure that Alfalfa will really do anything. Just make sure that you get amalayse, protease and lipase. That is all the prescription enzymes contain.
  2. try digestive enzyme supplements; they are not holistic mumbo jumbo, they really work
  3. There are very very few chocolate soy free items around. If you live near a major city go to a health food store there and you might find something that works. Otherwise look on the web. Just forget about gum. It has so many strange additives you should not be chomping on it anyways if you have neuro trouble.
  4. No clue but I bet Paul at Mr. Ritts bakery would have some idea since he is in your area. He must have worked on a gluten free wedding before.
  5. Make a run for the border. Dozens of GI's in Detroit, Rochester and Seattle would love to scope you for a $1000 (USD).
  6. I have no direct knowledge. I was however just reviewing their menu online. You could have a lovely salad there with a little bit of olive oil and no croutons. I would avoid the sandwiches. Ditto the BBQ wings. I bet those are delish though.
  7. I use the three second rule. You might be familiar with it from when you have dropped a food item on the floor and were debating whether it was then still clean enough to eat.
  8. You're welcome. I would avoid Pluto's.

  10. Yeah you should actually consider doing some Disney things. Most of the restaurants in the Disney parks can do gluten free food. You should call ahead and make a reservation and tell the phone reserver about your allergy
  11. You should have asked for Sylvia's gluten-free Menu!
  12. Meadowlands checking in.
  13. Straight A's. Its just like when you have a roommate who dies in the middle of the semester. The school feels sorry for you.
  14. Check to see if they have a walk-in ER
  15. Step 1: Open garbage can. Step 2: Toss old skillet into garbage. Step 3: Go to store and purchase new skillet.
  16. Maybe. Would be a roadtrip. E-mail me on the board if you'd like to discuss. I'm probably near your age.
  17. Yes strange subtle things can occur early on. When I stopped eating gluten my stomach gurgled for 2 days straight. No clue why. I did not feel any better at the time but it would not stop making noise.
  18. This stuff can take a really long time to heal. 6mos, 1 year, 2 years... You could find out if any other foods might be aggravating her so she could lay off them for awhile. Otherwise doesn't sound like a big deal.
  19. Tons of people get diagnosed in the their mid 20s. That's only a decade's worth of difference. You'll be fine.
  20. Order this and eat it without anything else for two weeks. Open Original Shared Link
  21. It's time to start eating meat. At least try some chicken. You're going to waste away otherwise.
  22. Rather than trying to figure out what has gluten and what does not for the next 12 months, go on a very basic diet right now... I mean plain chicken, rice, green vegetables, eggs. Very basic stuff only. This will help you get back to baseline faster and will help your stomach heal quicker. Despite the fact that you may not be allergic to other regular...
  23. I think if it were called "Yes to Spelt" or something like that you should be worried but as is it sounds pretty safe.
