ARCHIVED Act Restoring Rinse/ Dentist's Pumice Tooth Polish
purplemom replied to Lisa16's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
When we go to the dentist they use regular pumice mixed with crest toothpaste. It works great and our hygenist has been so nice about preparing this special for us! Just make sure they know this is a serious thing for you and nothing can be put in your mouth without verifying it is gluten free. Good Luck! -

ARCHIVED Sunblock
purplemom replied to stolly's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
This is always a concern of mine too!! We used the Banana Boat kids dryblock all last summer safely, I loved it because the sand didn't stick to the kids when I reapplied at the beach. You can also go for the more pricey but very good California Baby brand. It says free of gluten and many other allergens right on the label. Good Luck and have a great... -
ARCHIVED New Tide Pure Essentials
purplemom replied to Babygirl6915's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've had the same thoughts about this new Tide. If it helps at all, we started using the one with lilac and baking soda, and have had no problems. We are extrememly sensitive in this house! I actually found that my son's skin irritations improved. I was using regular Tide, but heard that many consider it very harsh on the skin. Good Luck! Cali -

ARCHIVED Gluten Free Kitten Food?
purplemom replied to JennyC's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi We use Iams kitten dry food in the purple bag and Friskies canned in the small kitten cans. You have to read the ingredients carefully for the canned food. Friskies does make some flavors with gluten, but it is clearly listed in the first few ingredients. Enjoy your kitty! We just got a new baby girl, Koko, last week! Cali -
ARCHIVED Frustrated With Food
purplemom replied to es2443's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Oh No! I can sympathize. My husband has this happen sometimes. We consider it glutening when he gets like this. I think it is slight glutening, like cross contamination, not something blatent. My advice is don't eliminate everything at once. Do one at a time to rule out what is making you so gassy. Then go from there. Could it be CC for you. (shared... -
ARCHIVED Question For Laptop Lunch Users
purplemom replied to cruelshoes's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
What is a Laptop Lunch? -
Hi We live an hour north of Boston, but I didn't know there even was a Celiac program at Children's. I would definately be interested in finding out more about it(mainly just for some support in our area). Our daughter has never had the biopsy done, just bloodwork. She has had an amazing response to the gluten free diet. It will be 2 years in november...

ARCHIVED Oats?
purplemom replied to Lister's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I am so glad this topic was started. I have been debating with my Mother in law as to whether her oatmeal is gluten-free. She insists it is, but I am skeptical!! She eats Simply Granola by Chappaqua Crunch. It just says on the bag "made with organic oats". I tried to explain to her that does not mean they are not contaminated oats. Am I wrong here?...
