ARCHIVED Hives Angioedema Liver And Celiac
Green12 replied to hiveman's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
From the research I have done, uticaria and angioedema are not one in the same. You can however have both conditions at the same time overlapping. I have tried cortisol therapy for 2 years and it did nothing for my angioedema outbreaks. If you try what Girl Ninja suggested hiveman, I do hope you get relief with it. These outbreaks are so painful... -

I found this link to the Denver Dining List, through the Celiac Sprue Association, they also have a list for Ft. Collins, Boulder, and Colorado Springs. Open Original Shared Link I had heard about Maggianos a few years ago, there was an article in the paper about the head chef's wife having celiac so he was aware of the difficulties of eating out... -
ARCHIVED Going To Denver Tonight

Yay Mango! A couple weeks ago I tried both the pizzas at Beau Jos and Deby's, even though they use the same crust I personally preferred the Deby's version- but really, freshly made pizza right out of the oven very much like the real thing, you can't go wrong with either! I hope you have a safe trip out here and a great time with your friends! ... -
When our bodies are compromised with an auto-immune illness it is very common to be highly reactive to many foods, not just gluten. I would continue to go with your gut feeling to avoid those foods you feel are questionable and stick with those you know you don't have any reactions to. Listen to your body, it knows you best! Many on this board have a...

I got a skin tag removed a couple weeks ago and the band aid the nurse put on the open wound to send me home with I was fine with, no reaction. But the band aids I had at home to freshly dress the wound I reacted to badly. It made me rash all around the perimeter of the band aid. My guess is it had to be some different ingredient/material between the brands...

Amanda's Mommy, I just wanted to add that you have already made the important, crucial, first step to getting better. You have acknowledged your problem and you are looking at it straight on for what it really is. That is not always easy to do and some people never arrive at that step. So imo I think this is a great accomplishment for you! Now...

That was me Andrea. I just received it yesterday and I have been looking through it, looks really good. I can't eat like this everyday, or even once a week, but I look forward to trying out some of the recipes for holidays and special occasions -
ARCHIVED Is Anyone Else Having Problems With Tasting Cans Or Dyes ?
Green12 replied to marciab's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It is common when you have auto-immune conditions to be very sensitive to smells and tastes, it is a symptom of having multiple chemical/environmental sensitivities. A tinny taste in the mouth can also be a sign of metal sensitivities. But, it also might be just that you don't care for the taste of foods prepared in this way, in a can, and it is a personal... -
ARCHIVED Hives Angioedema Liver And Celiac
Green12 replied to hiveman's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I have a severe case. I get an outbreak every month without fail. it starts out small in one area, or a few, like the hands, elbows, ears, etc. and then they grow and get bigger and bigger covering a large area, deeper set into the layers of tissue, and redder and more painful. They also generate a lot of heat. My outbreaks last from 7- 10 days. One month... -
ARCHIVED Hives Angioedema Liver And Celiac
Green12 replied to hiveman's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hiveman, I have angioedema, and have for several years. It is excruciatingly painful. I have not found one doctor that knows how to treat it, let alone what it is or why it happens. Alot of the research I have done recently on the internet has led me to believe there is a connection to the liver due to the fact that there are a few pharmeceutical companies... -

Good luck at the Cheesecake factory Steve I just don't eat out, sorry I can't help you out with more ideas of places to go. If I hear of anything in the future I will be sure to post it. Regarding Deby's, I have only tried a few things. The cinnamon rolls are awful, muffins I agree very fair, I do however love their pizza. I actually like... -

lablady511, There are Whole Foods and Wild Oats in Denver and around the metro area, same for Vitamin Cottage health food stores (these are my favorite, small locally owned and cheaper for your snacks). Here's the link to look up store locations: Open Original Shared Link I am beginnning to think the same thing about Deby's myself... -

I won't shoot you Andrea I struggle a lot with these relatively new theories about paleo diets versus neolithic (grains, legumes, dairy). I support everyone doing what they think is best for themsleves 100%, but I personally have a hard time believing all of these things that grow from the earth are not meant to eaten by the human body. Just like in... -

Green12 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Floridian, I was thinking "smoothie" for you to supplement your diet just because they are quick and easy to make and you could just toss the fruits you do well with in the blender with some ice cubes and a couple of tablespoons of ground flax seeds, fruit juice or water, and there you go. Plus you know exactly what you are getting, only what you put... -
I have several friends that deal with this, at times of high stress and anxiety, or even sadness/depression, it really affects their stomachs. They call it their "nervous stomachs"

Green12 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
You can't have avocadoes, or nuts, right Floridian? I'm trying to figure something out for you, maybe a calorie packed drink to supplement with your diet. What about flax seeds? You can get a little coffee grinder and grind the flax seeds and throw them into a homemade smoothie with fruit. Or even better are you ok with coconut? You can try... -

Floridian I read the ingredients on the Carnation Instant Breakfast. I don't know what flavor you drank, they all seem to vary a little bit from flavor to flavor, but for the most part they have maltodextrin and several other processed/chemically ingredients that would definitely make me sick if I drank it.
