ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
Green12 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Calicat, Keep your chin up You will find the answers and better health will come. Christina, At my best I am eating watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, pears (peeled), peaches (peeled), kiwi, apples (peeled), and mangoes for breakfast (I have yet to try out grapefruit, pineapple, papaya). For lunch I have a taco salad that I make with... -

hey jersey, You just made me remember something! I've seen all these specialists over the last 12 years I forget some of the information a lot of the time. I was told that when the digestive tract is compromised with leaky gut, or whatever it may be, grains are really hard on our systems. Flours especially since they are processed. That was great... -

I am kind of sad reading this thread now We all have a lot of challenges and our little support group is growing, welcome key and Floridian. What is going on that so many are so sick?? The rapid heartbeat, I have two thoughts on that. My acupuncturist told me it signified a food allergy if it rises after ingesting a food. Also, on the MSG... -

oh kripes! The test results I have don't distinguish between what was IgE or IgG. They are all lumped together. I went to the website of the lab to see if I could get information and no such luck. So I could actually have proof of a true allergy,a forever allergy, right at my finger tips? Maybe I will call them tomorrow. Thanks for this information... -
This might not be very helpful, and it doesn't speak necessarily to dating specifically, but any relationship, and I think it could apply to your situation. I have been very reluctant to open up about my health challenges and 'special' diet in the past and I usually didn't feel comfortable letting anyone in, I'm VERY guarded about it. But more recently I...

I don't know...I really don't seem to know anything anymore. I find myself more confused than ever. I only had IgG and IgE tests to look into my food allergies. From what I understand these are not 'classic' allergy tests, only leaky gut tests, so I was under the impression it might be a case of following a permenant rotation diet or later introducing... -

OMgosh, I missed out on so much conversation last night! I didn't mean to shock you all with my confession about my gluten fest. As grim as my symptoms may sound, I will recover quickly. As long as I just eat really clean everything calms way down in about 4 or 5 days, and then continually everyday thereafter. I still am so confused though... -

Good evening girls, you guys have been chatty tonight! Um, I have to make a confession. I have eaten gluten for the last 6 days. Since I don't have any kind of test results to go by I wanted to do a challenge. The gluten-free foods have been making me as sick as a dog the last year........so I thought I would test wheat out and see what happened... -

I don't know what it is but sometimes my tastes are way off, not just with produce. Everything just tastes off, and so it makes me think it's something in my body going on like a chemical thing. I have that super powerful sense of smell and taste too Rachel. My Mom laughs all the time because before I even enter a room I detect something off, I smell... -
ARCHIVED Please Help With This Constipation
Green12 replied to BRUMI1968's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
What works for me fast is Magnesium supplementation, I take 1 capsule of Magnesium Citrate with each meal at times of C. Also the fresh juice of 1/2 a lemon squeezed into a glass of hot water gets things going. Watermelon, honeydew, fruits with a high water content also get the job done for me. -

shai, no not at all. You just put it in a different perspective for me and I realized I shouldn't be sad at my experience I should be grateful. So thank you. It sounds like you really have a lot of challenges with your health, bless your heart. If you are up to it, do try out creating your own ritual with your mom and sister. Even if it's only tea... -

I'm sorry you are feeling down Felidae. Your new job with all the traveling poses some challenges for sure. I haven't had to travel for work so I can't offer advice in that department. Maybe there are others that have ideas. I would say maybe find some foods you could take with you, some easy to pack non-perishable foods, but maybe that is not a possibility... -

Hi Judy, It's actually been over 10 years for me battling auto-immune conditions and having to eat a 'special' diet but 10 is such a nice neat number, and it seems like I've been saying 10 for so long I haven't caught up with the additional years that have come and gone Even though it's been so long, I still haven't quite got it all figured out... -

shai76, this really breaks my heart to read this, I know exactly how you feel. I was there several years ago with the same problem. I still have a difficult time going into department stores or just stores in general because I get so sick from all the chemicals in the air from the clothing and household products like linens and etc. I rush out of there... -

Hee hee! Let us know how you do with those zucchini Rachel. Judy, I don't think I have seen anything like that, produce with a sticker that changes color when it is ripe. They sure think of everything! If I understand the act of ripening there is oxygen involved and natural gases, and maybe the sticker is designed to react to those... -

I would assume it is to make crops bigger, kind of like a Miracle Grow for produce. I need to investigate it further as well. I used to go for the big stuff too, the biggest red apples I could find the better. From what I understand bigger isn't always better . I learned from the cooking shows that the bigger the produce the less concentrated... -

key and mart, Bless your hearts! It is difficult to cope with special diets in the first place, it's an added challenge eating out/eating away and made even worse when you don't get much support from extended family, other people in your life, or at the restaurants. I hope you both with time can figure out more of what does work and what doesn't work... -

I have been reading the discussion board a lot today and that is what it sounds like this 'No MSG' mission entails, lots of trial and error. That's a great idea to keep a log of what you didn't have a reaction to and then stick with those things, of course as we have learned with gluten and corn and everything else ingredients can change without notice and... -
ARCHIVED Can Rashes In General Be From Celiac
Green12 replied to Mia H's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Like Mango, I get all kinds of skin rashes from all of my food intolerances- not just exclusively from gluten. The last several months I had this raised red bumpy patch on the underside of my elbow, like where your daughter gets them, and it did the same thing. It was lots of little raised bumps in the shape of an irregular circle and then it would... -

Rachel, I agree about the die-off, or the feeling bad for too long. I've had to do a lot of metal shifts these last few years and even more recently as we have learned about corn allergies and corn derivatives flooding our food supply, and now MSG. It's like a whole new way of thinking, instead of building the body up with supplements, clear the poison... -

Green12 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Calicat, I agree that our bodies know best. I'm trying to fine tune the delicate art of listening to my own body and to trust my intuition when it comes to my own health. I do this most of the time, I have refused several treatments because it just didn't seem right and I think I was labeled a 'difficult' patient because of it. It's hard when we go... -

I'm not sure Mango- I am still investigating that. I just came from the MSG discussion boards and found out several people react to the wild salmon at Whole Foods, they suspect it has the orange glaze on it too and they wrote to corporate and the reply was it couldn't possibly be contaminated. So if contamination is happening with the fish, meats, supplements... -
ARCHIVED "im Wheat Free... But Wheat Doesnt Bother Me"
Green12 replied to VydorScope's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'm a little confused, but if I understand this right it might be a case that she is just wheat free and not gluten free. Years ago I went wheat free and in that school of thought you can have wheat alternatives (like spelt and etc.) and oats. If you ever notice in the health food stores there are products that say "wheat free" but there is still gluten...
