  1. mrsnj, in my Whole Foods store they keep all of these products in the freezer section, it might vary from store to store. Ask someone at the customer service desk right inside the door where to find the Whole Foods Gluten Free Bakehouse products. Here is a link to all of Whole Foods Gluten Free Bakehouse products: Open Original Shared Link I've tried...
  2. Cookies- Nana's Lemon or Ginger Cookie, Enjoy Life Foods Snickerdoodles, Pamela's Butter Shortbread, Pamela's Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chunk, and Pamela's Almond Anise Biscotti, Whole Foods Chocolate Chip or Ginger Cookies Bread- I like all of the gluten free Food For Life breads, other than that I haven't tried any other brands yet, Food For Life Rice...
  3. I received an allergen information list from Haagen Dazs, those 2 flavors were gluten-free. But, that was last year and there is some controversy over on the avoiding corn forum for corn allergies about Haagen Dazs changing their basic recipe within the year and also not being truthful about their ingredient listings. So, while I can't say with certainty...
  4. I eat a lot of spagetti squash too. I make an Italian marinara meat sauce to top it with or sometimes I just toss it with a little olive oil, sea salt, and other seasonings/herbs.
  5. I agree that it is a trial and error process to find what your family likes best, it is all about personal taste and preference. You can maybe try a couple different products per week, or month, however you want to do it, to find your favorites and then those become your staples in your pantry. I have replaced bread with potatoes, sweet potatoes, winter...
  6. Mango, my guess would be because it's cheap. It's just like what has happened, or is happening, with soy, canola oil, etc., and that's why they put it in everything. It's cheap to process, cheap to put in products as filler, thickener, flavoring, sweetener, and so on. Did anyone see Oprah yesterday? I'm not really the alarmist or activist type but I...
  7. Ahh, yet one more beautiful, fabulous, glorious thing that comes from Canada!!!
  8. I've only tried the vanilla flavor of rice dream ice cream. I personally didn't care for it, it had a odd aftertaste for me. I have looked for Sharon's Sorbets in my health food stores and they don't carry it. I wish they would, I went to the website and they aren't nationwide. I might get an ice cream maker and start experimenting with my own...
  9. Hi Arctic Sun, I had all of my fillings removed, that was one of the first things I did on my list of all of those 'crazy' things I was talking about in my first post. I also did multiple rounds of chelation in order to detox the mercury from my body as well as taking high doses of chlorella to pull it out. I completely agree with you about mercury toxicity...
  10. I don't have an official diagnosis of celiac, but I absolutely live like I do- for some reason this bothers some people in my family. They give me crap all the time about eating gluten free when I haven't had the biopsy confirmation. These are the same people that haven't been supportive over the many years I have struggled with all of my health problems...
  11. PreOptMegs, sorry the scd thread has been hijacked by corn allergy issues! I was looking into the scd as well as foods to avoid when one has corn allergies. I had done several similar diets to the scd before, focusing on healing the gut, disbiosis & etc. but never got any better. While I am not ruling the scd diet out entirely I am more focusing...
  12. Thanks jersey for sharing your experiences and thoughts!
  13. Did you see my post from a couple days back? I posted the ratio of baking soda to cream of tartar (experimenting with substituting the vit. C for the crem of tartar) Also I have from my corn allergy information (since baking powder often has corn starch in it) this ratio: 1/2 tsp cream of tartar + 1/4 tsp baking soda for every 1 tsp baking powder...
  14. Thanks mommida!! I agree with you about learning so much, I only have nieces so far but I have learned so much from them. I can't imagine how much I would learn from my own. What you said was beautiful about unconditional love. You are good people mommida!!
  15. Thanks ehrin for the well wishes. I don't even know if its a possibility, my hormone situation isn't the greatest. So, I guess we shall see when we are ready to try. I have always been the mother hen type, mothering my parents, siblings, friends, extended family- but this, whether you have a motherly 'instinct' or not- in my opinion, is not necessarily...
  16. Good luck to you Alexandra with the adoption process. I have friends who were unable to conceive and they too turned to adoption, everything fell into place and they were blessed with a beautiful baby boy, just like it was meant to be.
  17. Mmmmmm, a hot bowl of oatmeal sounds so dang good! Please post how it goes if you try them.
  18. Unfortunately Nancym, people with corn allergies have found that there are a lot of corn/corn derived ingredients in food items that aren't regulated by fair labeling standards. For example, corn oil is used as a carrier for the vitamins contained in enriched milk and it doesn't have to be listed. Xanthum gum is derived from corn/or manufactured with corn...
  19. cultureslayer, I think your statement is rather rude. I never said in my original post I didn't want to have children. My questions, or fears, were never about should I or should I not get pregnant. That's what you seemed to turn it into. If you read what I expressed, I say I'm not at the point of trying to conceive and I have worries about conceiving...
  20. I love when a company does that, I know Amy's does it too. It would be nice if it would be mandatory but that is probably wishful thinking....
  21. Rachel, those are definitely some symptoms! I have always gotten reactions from eating gluten-free foods that resembled getting glutened for me, but I just assumed that it was maybe something didn't agree with me, or I blamed the sugar because of the candida thing- or I thought I must just be allergic to EVERYTHING. Now I realize all of these products...
  22. TCA, have you checked out the Avoiding Corn forum at delphi? When I was doing my own research I came across several threads about infants with corn allergies, or suspected corn allergies, and there might be some helpful information and contacts for you. Open Original Shared Link dani, I used R.W Knudsen Just Cranberry Juice, found at most...
  23. That is the added challenge, figuring out what is both gluten free and corn free. p.s.- are you still ok with the hagen dazs ice cream Rachel? I was reading something very contradictory about the ingredient labeling at the corn forum. very frustrating stuff....
  24. Hi ehrin, thanks for sharing your fears too. It's nice to know I am not alone! I have always wanted children, desperately, but I do worry about being sick and what that all might mean for my health, and a baby's health, and I have had all of these thoughts in the back of my mind that I have needed to sort out. It was helpful to hear the other's personal...
  25. I don't know if this is corn safe or not, but I wonder if you could have the straight cranberry juice, nothing else added. I used to have one tbsp. (2 times a day) mixed in water just as a system flusher.
