Excuse my playing devil's advocate here, but is heartburn really THAT closely connected to gluten that it would be mentioned in such an article?
-
-
I think about it all the time when I see food in an ad or a movie. I'm fine without it, but I still analyze the meals
-
Unless you have a severe allergy to wheat IN ADDITION TO celiac, I would not wear one. If you lose consciousness and a doctor needs to give you a medication to save you, gluten is the least of your concerns...
-
-
Interesting. Thank you for posting it here!
-
Oh yeah...it'll take a long time to get approved and everything, if it works. But it's a big step. It will definitely be at least 5 yrs. before we can expect to see anything if we do by then!
-
There is one...I saw it on the Listserv once. I don't know it or where exactly it is. Sorry.
-
-
-
Well, you need to open each post separately, and then you can highlight it and print. If you want to save paper and avoid all the ads and stuff, you can copy and paste it all into a word document to consolidate. Then print it once. But again, you have to open each post individually.

Gas-X (one kind of it) contains wheat

A thourough hand and dishwasher cleaning should be all that is needed--neither teflon nor wood should retain gluten in any amount that could detected if the items are washed properly.
I believe that this is one of those Internet rumors that won't seem to die.
Take care,
Scott

Soy protein...the product should be okay then. Could you tell us which brand it is? Because some look gluten-free, like Brach's, but deny being gluten-free due to some cross-contamination.
-
Right. I had heard about villous atrophy also occuring in hepatitis and crohn's...
-
Candy corn? I wish. Brach's is sort of probably most likely
gluten-free, but they claim that they aren't due to possible contamination. I never know what to do in those instances. Being cautious, I have not eaten them. Haven't heard of any BIG brand that you could find in any store being gluten-free.
-
Yeah, I eat M&Ms all the time. Regular ones, peanut ones (yellow package), etc. gluten-free... not crispy (blue) as stated before.
Kraft marshmallows (Jetpuffed?) are gluten-free.

Right. Only in the avatar, or you can post a link if you have a pic on another site.... It's probably better that way--then spammers can't uhhh...pollute the board with any more potency.

Absolutely. I used to have the kid's size, but that was when I was 40 lbs lighter, sickly thin, almost 2 yrs. ago. I'm only 110, but I wear the adult's size--the kid's size is too tight. That's the Maryland kind-- the celiaccenter.org or whatever.
The Chicago adult ones are ENORMOUS! ANY teen would be a kid's size for those--most adults, too.
