  1. Hey, how old are you? My suggestions would vary based on what your resources are. If you have access to a microwave, a whole host of options are available--heating up leftovers, mac and cheese, the Mrs. Leepers meals are awesome and if you make it in the morning or the night before, you just need to bring it in a microwavable container and heat up. They...
  2. Awww...congratulations!
  3. Just got another reply. I think it is very funny, because I never asked them this question! Nonetheless, I'll post it, anyway, in case anyone actually did care about their ginger ale... haha
  4. Sent through here -------------->
  5. I had e-mailed them multiple times and just about an hour ago they replied with the EXACT same thing they said the first time--very impersonal replies.
  6. Hmmm... I just called today--I FINALLY remembered to call during their hours. The woman immediately said that they are gluten-free--both regular and diet Sunkist. Maybe the person was talking about Canada? Or they used to contain gluten? Or the person was just plain wrong? Anyway, resume drinking -celiac3270
  7. It's a magazine for celiac and then some other intolerances and allergies. Open Original Shared Link
  8. lol...not for a long time...if it even ends up happening, it takes about a year after I have a first draft to publish...so who knows?
  9. Yes--that is an excellent tool to explain it to friends--I've used that analogy ALL the time to explain why one crumb can do so much damage. Thank you for your support ...I'll let you know how it goes.
  10. Excellent idea . I MIGHT just do that. Not a complete reference book for every aspect of it--that would be an overwhelming task--but a Celiac for teens/kids thing. Thanks for the suggestion--I had been pondering that for awhile and your suggestion just might be the kick in the rear I need. Laurel-- Danna Korn's most recent and thorough book is entitled...

To mandigirl- Hey, I've been to Risotteria--the best gluten-free restaurant in NYC... Risotteria was trained by the GFRAP (Gluten-free restaurant awareness program). The GFRAP has many other restaurants certified as being trained to cook gluten-free: Open Original Shared Link Someone else mentioned Happy Happy Happy, a bakery not on this list, but...
  12. Not even 15, lol. My b-day is in late January. Absolutely...this should have been taken extremely seriously. Here's a quote from the link in my signature for malrotation: Don't give up. Just think that if you're at the bottom, there's nowhere to go but up. It will get better--if he wouldn't stick by you in sickness, your ex-husband wasn't someone...
  13. OK... 1) One month is not nearly enough to see results. Some people will feel better in one month, for some people it might take two, three, or four. But definitely do not give up after one. 2) While it may be that you just need more time on the diet to feel the effects, there are a number of other reasons why you might not be getting better:...
  14. I finally got around to slowly perusing the most recent issue of Living Without and I was so disappointed when I go to page 58! That page, entitled "Read it" gave little reviews on five books, one of which was The Gluten-Free Bible. I was so disappointed that they, too, gave it a glowing review. I believe I would be allowed to post that little bit (right...
  15. That's so funny! They have another URL to the same site now: Open Original Shared Link ...I guess that they realized that so many customers couldn't spell it and therefore, couldn't get to the site......
  16. Weird... well, I'll send it to you via e-mail and you'll see if you can open it.
  17. It's great that you could enjoy pizza again! I'm really happy for you
  18. Bette...your's didn't go through. I don't believe, though, that a correct e-mail address can have two at signs (@) in it. And is there a space between the Bette and the @ and then the @ and the subsequent B?
  19. These are the most popular: Open Original Shared Link You can also buy them from the University of Chicago or from Melonie (head of the yahoo group, Silly Yaks, that puts out the gluten-free restaurant list). Most people seem to get them from the first one, though I've seen a few with the Chicago ones. The difference... Maryland ones are: Making...
  20. Hi Donna! Thank you for sharing your experiences. I think I'll just take some of the cross-contamination issues I avoid at home (in my 1/2 gluten-free, 1/2 gluten kitchen). For food, though.......do I actually need to make a list of everything I can eat? Or would it make more sense to just give some suggestions for each meal that are mainstream and difficult...

Wow! new to me...thanks for sharing!!!
  22. That's TERRIBLE! Who calls you that, the teachers or the kids? Well, kids I imagine...that's awful. They even know what you have and they won't believe you. Sorry to hear that--kids are mean.
  23. That's awesome, lol
  24. No, many health food store employees incorrectly think that spelt is gluten-free...it is a form of wheat, which is why they tasted so normal--they...well, basically, are! I've tried the Ener-G pretzels also...very good, quite normal tasting, but certainly gluten-free.
