ARCHIVED New Certification For Gf Food Processing
celiac3270 replied to daddyez's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Phenomenal. Yet another reason to love GIG. -
Yes. One thing that might help with gooiness: We first made the pizza with a pizza pan that had no holes in it--and the middle didn't cook as well as the crust. Then we got one with small holes in the bottom and that cooked perfectly (perfect thin crust pizza). Maybe that would help for an uncooked center, though we managed to make a pretty good pizza...

It must be the eggs--well, lack thereof. It is none of the above (gross, squishy, slimy, inedible, hard on the edges, etc.) when I make it with eggs.

ARCHIVED Why Many Do Not Participate
celiac3270 replied to Corrine's topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
And if you ask a number of questions and a few don't get answered, post back and ask about those few again. If you find that your post is moving to later pages and you didn't get the answer to your question, make a reply in it to move it to the top like..."I'd appreciate anymore insight into this" or something. The common web term would be "BUMP" (meaning... -
Yes. Actually, you can't just develop malrotation anytime, but you develop it before you exit your mother at birth. It would be normal that they would find it in your son in infancy (maybe because of projectile vomiting or some other sign). With me, though, I had it, they didn't test me at birth despite projectile vomiting, then years went by without symptoms...

ARCHIVED Pizza Recipe, Or Mix
celiac3270 replied to grantschoep's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
For a packaged pizza I like the Food By George. The best mix in my opinion is Chebe--the bread mix works better than the actual pizza crust. -
To me quinoa is all right...not something I would eat for its taste, but it has great nutritional value. Tinkyada is the best gluten-free pasta in my opinion--hands down. Chebe is awesome...I've been preaching about them for over a year and it took a good eight months to get some people here to believe me, lol.

ARCHIVED Is There A List Of Gf Freindly Places?
celiac3270 replied to VydorScope's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Thanks...I sent it to everyone. The Delphi list (food) is really easy cause it's on the forum already, but this one is a little more difficult. Remember that if you want to download it yourself, you can join by going here: Open Original Shared Link and then you can download it from under the files section. Or e-mail me...or, in the future, perhaps... -

ARCHIVED Finding People In Highschool Who Has Cd...
celiac3270 replied to Ashley's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
It was fine...they had known me for a long time so they were just curious... I got a little of the annoying "What happens if you eat gluten?" but it wasn't too bad. After that it was just celiac3270's gluten-free lunch...and some of them tried to read labels and stuff. It was fine. -
ARCHIVED Missing Manicures....madly!
celiac3270 replied to sweetiegrl109's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Pedicure...that's feet, right? Ya... well, gluten cannot be absorbed through the skin (or nails for that matter) so unless you stick your feet in your mouth or something, there shouldn't be a problem. Hands...could be a problem since it could find its way into your mouth if you bite your nails or it chips off or I don't know... -
ARCHIVED Walmart Going Gluten Free
celiac3270 replied to a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
OK...I had been thinking for the past year(s) that Walmart is stupid...they could make a mint off of the 10 million highly compacted customer base of the 5 boroughs... I know why they're nowhere, now. Read this in the paper a few days ago.... Some people decided (people also in the grocery industry) that Walmart was bad for the city--probably because... -
ARCHIVED Play The "find The Gluten" Game
celiac3270 replied to Funkalicious's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Oh ya...I found that one a few months ago and posted it...I think under ingredients and labeling...funny game. -
Oh, excellent idea about softserve--avoid the scoops altogether. Then it's just, can I have it in a bowl/cup rather than cone. Good one, Kaiti.

ARCHIVED Children's Book?
celiac3270 replied to lipreader's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Yes, that's a good book. I think, though, that that type of book is something that's intended to alleviate your child's concerns by showing that this person in the book is doing this diet and is healthy, happy, fine, etc. An adult's celiac book would be way too complicated for a five-year-old to understand--and what five-year-old needs to know the complex... -
I see an avatar of a stick figure man holding a hammer--in gray w/ a white background. Oh, and the guy's torso is covered in gray spots--kinda like chicken pox, lol. Technically, no, you can't have 2 at once, but with some people, it may take awhile for your new one to show up, in which case people could be seeing older versions of your avatar for some...

I'm 99% sure it's both...definitely the treats. (RE: Rice Krispie question)

ARCHIVED Upcoming Fda Meeting--take Gig Survey
celiac3270 replied to jenvan's topic in Publications & Publicity
I took the survey! -
Red Sox.... I live in NY, but here are my problems with the teams here. The Mets...well, they stink. And I have just never found them interesting to watch, nor do I particularly like anyone on their team. The Yankees aggravate me to no end. A few reasons: 1. It's boring to watch the same team win every year. 2. They just buy out all the talent...

ARCHIVED Finding People In Highschool Who Has Cd...
celiac3270 replied to Ashley's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I'm starting my freshman year of high school... I'm also 14, turning 15 in January. I was diagnosed in 7th grade...at first they were curious as to what the diet was, what happened if I ate gluten, what gluten is, etc. Then it was just celiac3270 eating his gluten-free food...normal. Staring high school, I'm just going to answer people if they ask me what... -
Yeah...I wouldn't touch oats with a ten foot pole. Well, I would, but then I'd clean the pole before using it for anything else. It would be natural that you eat less after going gluten-free.....you're absorbing your nutrients, so you don't need to eat as much.

ARCHIVED How Do I Add A Comment To A Blog?
celiac3270 replied to lbsteenwyk's topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
Sure... Click on the "0 comments" (or however many: 1, 2, 3 comments, etc.) Then scroll to the bottom and click on fast reply or add reply. Fast reply just means that it doesn't open a new page--just a little box--you type it in and add the reply. This is ideal for shorter messages...or hit add reply and type as in a regular post. -
Slightly more celiac females. But there are probably more diagnosed females, since males are a little less vocal about health problems. Males are less likely to join boards in which one usually shows emotion, etc.
-
I know. They keep replaying that tape of him speaking to congress and going "I have never taken sterioids" on ESPN. He goes from saying "NO WAY" to the allegations to..."maybe it happened accidentally" to "I made a mistake" (is that an admission of guilt)?

ARCHIVED M&m's
celiac3270 replied to melhopkins02's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Absolutely...all M&Ms are gluten-free except for the Crispy ones in the blue package. That includes plain, peanuts, etc. I just finally managed to get to this webpage... but Kristina and I were IMing and she asked in the IM and I said yeah, and I told her to say we convened and came to that conclusion, but she said no, it would make us seem like dorks...
