  1. Can you believe what just happened in baseball? Rafael Palmeiro...jeez...steroids are becoming a huge problem!
  2. You can buy it in a cheese shaker, too--gluten-free and free of any contamination risks, though I also trust the packet.
  3. Thank you!

    ARCHIVED Books

OOOOhh... at the GIG conference I saw an exhibit for some book that's coming out about celiac dining (or has it just come out?)--what you can eat w/ diff cuisines, traveling, eating out, etc. Don't recall the name--I'll probably read about it somewhere soon.
  5. Sorry to be a bother, but could you name some other alternatives/examples... just interested as to what you do about this.
  6. Just out of interest: do you guys (sorry, and girls...I meant it as a general term) usually date in food situations or do you avoid, say, dinner, and go to a movie instead, etc.?
  7. Wheat-Free, Worry-Free by Danna Korn. Definitely. Dangerous Grains is good, too, but I like the former.
  8. I LOVEEEEE CHEBE.
  9. Yea...they taste like regular pretzels. I was never a big pretzel person, but if you like pretzels in general, you'll like these.
  10. Awww...no Walmarts in NYC... Off topic: did anyone see those back to school ads they had? 10 notebooks for a dollar...lol, that's crazy.
  11. There are a number of publications... there's the newsletter that Scott (the man who runs this site) makes: Scott Free. I've never read that one so I can't recommend it or not. There's another magazine called Living Without--nice pictures, recipes, articles, etc. I get this one. The only downside is that it's not entirely on the gluten-free lifestyle...
  12. Oh, of course! No, there are no entries in her blog. Views means how many times someone has opened her blog page--they may not have seen anything, but if it's viewed 10 times, it means that 10 people opened her blog to see the page, even though there were no entries. You can have views without ever making an entry, since you have a page with a little...
  13. 2nd page?
  14. Oh yes, absolutely. That mix is awesome...the best.
  15. Absolutely...I'll send this out until a new one comes in and then I'll send that one out
  16. That's really weird. It doesn't have any viruses or spyware because I run tests RELIGIOUSLY and I would've found it--well, I wouldn't have even been able to get it on my computer with the 3 spyware blockers, very strong anti-virus, and the free one from AOL, plus firewall scanning it. I have the AOL anti-virus and I downloaded it fine from their site--is...

    ARCHIVED # 2 Gastro Visit

Try to investigate into medication, makeup, etc. If you don't eliminate all the gluten, you're not doing your body much service. Follow up appointment: the doctor will basically ask you how you feel on the diet, if you've been following it, etc. You'll say you feel great, cut out all gluten in foods, still working out the kinks and checking things like...
  18. I know what you mean. About two months ago, I was eating the Ener-G tapioca loaf. I also thought it was bad, but the best I had found. I've tried bread from a number of those weird brands you've never heard of and it was awful. The white rice loaf from Ener-G was really bad. And to me, Kinnikinnick's loaf was basically teh same as the white rice loaf...
  19. Correct. Symptoms can present themselves at any age, as could celiac. In fact, one could have celiac all their life with no symptoms, and then all of a sudden get terrible symptoms. Symptoms can escalate at any time, and can often become milder--sometimes for no reason, sometimes at the onset of puberty...that, obviously, won't apply for you. Celiac...
  20. That's so dumb! People can add their own salt if they want to--why screw it up for the non-salty people among us.
  21. If it bothers you, then you should stay away from it, regardless of it's status gluten-wise. Listen to your body--maybe it bothers you for some other reason. Splenda bothers a lot of people even though it's gluten-free, etc.
  22. I'm not sure how you get them--I noticed I was getting them every 30,000-50,000 points, but I think it may have been related to getting that health thing that makes you invulnerable...
  23. Well, bad towards the CSA... they're kinda weird--kinda saying weird things and such. For example, they were against that food labeling bill for the top 8 allergens (including wheat) because it didn't also have rye and barley. Yeah...so he doesn't like the CSA.
