  1. Hey, welcome to the board! I'm almost 15. Yes, you really shouldn't take medication of any kind for that long. I took Prilosec OTC for about five months straight before, but that was only because my doctor advised me to do so. I never took Immodium, but judging from what I've heard, after diagnosis, you will need to use it much less. This is true of...

    ARCHIVED Slurpees

Nope, we have them in the US, too...that's why I moved it
  3. Yeah, I got that from one person...repeatedly.
  4. I'm not in my 20s, so I'll keep this short, but I just wanted to say two things: the first is that, even if you look like a geek or people laugh about it, the silver lining to this is that you're going to be much healthier than the boozers and junk food eaters in the long run. My main point is that I completely identify with what you said above. I'm only...
  5. Ok. Start in the kitchen. Toss any cast iron or teflon cookware, wooden spoons or cutting boards, and plastic isn't good either. Replace these with new cookware. If you have a spouse who will not eat gluten-free, keep these for non-gluten-free cooking--if not, get rid of them and begin with a 100% gluten-free kitchen. Coke Zero doesn't have gluten...

    ARCHIVED Slurpees

I have heard so. I have not personally confirmed it.
  7. Yeah... I'm pretty much the same on here as I am in person. I try to think of it as a good thing...just pass right over teenage behavior, lol
  8. Absolutely...that's sometimes all you need to say
  9. This is an excerpt from "Kosher Today" "New Food Safety Program Linked to Kosher" (Seattle, Wa) "A new Gluten-Free (gluten-free) certification mark on food labels will allow consumers who are medically required to eat gluten-free foods to easily identify safe food. This new independent food processing inspection program will verify that food products...
  10. I am 14...I will turn 15 on Jan. 21...but as of now, yes, I am 14, or to sound childish, but more precise, about 14 1/2, lol. Ok, my experiment is complete. It took you guys about two weeks to notice that I had changed mine to be SUPER. I kinda was updating my profile thing and I accidentally stumbled across it and I thought it would be funny to make...
  11. Frito-Lays does that type of thing, too. Some things (Stax, Fritos, Lays, Ruffles, etc.) made on dedicated lines, but others, such as Cheetos, are gluten-free but are made on the same lines that are cleaned after each batch. I'll eat such foods unless I isolate them as being a problem.
  12. You might be celiac if... 1. The centerpiece on your dining room table is a bread machine. 2. Your bread looks like a moon rock and tastes like dried out Play Doh. 3. Your bread weighs more than any moon rock could possibly weigh. 4. The only way you will eat your bread is toasted. 5. You've paid over $5 for a loaf of bread. 6. You make your own pizza...
  13. I know. The resources are good, but I am and always will be loyal to my roots
  14. Okay, let me know when you try. Have you called the cig companies about gluten? If you're still getting sick...could there be something in there that's bothering you? I mean, they put so much cr** in them like ingredients from cleaning fluids and tar and stuff...why wouldn't they shove in a little gluten for good measure? OOh, got to go, wanted...
  15. Oh man! I wish my health food store would have one of those frequent shopper cards they have in all the pharmacies and grocery stores. We've actually become friends with the guy who runs one of the stores (not to mention the two-three other stores we frequent).
  16. Ha...lol
  17. Great job! That's awesome--you're doing your body and your wallet such a service! Keep up the good work--chew all the gum you need! Congrats!
  18. Hey, First some background. Diabetes runs in my family. Grandpa on dad's side has it, uncle on dad's side recently developed it, etc. I have celiac and a family history of it, so I am trying to be careful with my sugar, now...so I drink diet Coke, diet Pepsi, diet Sprite. Fortunately I hadn't found diet Sunkist because I read on Delphi today that Sunkist...
  19. This is a great list for Halloween candy: Open Original Shared Link And at the bottom, it has suggestions for dealing with non-gluten-free candy your child acquires:
  20. Sent through here...
  21. You smoke? I never knew that! Downloading the Delphi list? You can put it on a palm! Lots of people do. You can buy them--as low as maybe $75-99 dollars and put the Delphi list on as a text file which you can read--bring it to the store, etc. You can also store contacts, to-do lists, calendar, etc. on it (in addition to notes) and if you want...
  22. I can tell when the tv is on or not even with the tv black and no volume like a poster three posts ago (I think?). I hear the electric whatever or the sort of electric static that no one else in my family does.
  23. lol
  24. Is that really good, though? To be glutened 3 times? Is that a sarcastic "only" or a real one since you thought it would be more often?
