Susan, You are at a much healthier weight now. Please don't do that too yourself. It's not worth it. -
Naturopath/Holistic is a good choice. Another choice is a good, reputable LLMD (lyme literate medical doctor). They test for many different things, not just lyme. You want to rule out parasites, yeasts, molds, metals, vitamin/mineral deficiencies. In short you want to see someone who can run all the bloodwork to start ruling things in or out. If you...

ARCHIVED Ok, So What Is Going On With Me?

Sounds like your chiro has a good plan for you. Thanks. I find if I eat a salad it's easier to get veggies in. I'm just not consistent with that. -

I just read recently in my uswellness meats email that hfcs bypasses the mechanism in the body that says you are full......leading to overeating.......leading to overweight people. Seems to me I've read other stuff before that that stuff is NOT good to eat. -

First off, if gluten causes problems it would be best to be off of it for life. You have a family history which gives you more incentive. The dq1 gene has been linked with neuro problems. By challenging it you are just causing yourself more stress to you body. Sounds like you eat very healthy. I'm still working on increasing my veggies/fruits. Stay... -

Carla, Any word on any of Chloe's tests yet? I figure you'd hear sometime between this week and next week. -

You have a right to be angry, but you need to move on. Look forward to this new doctor and progress. I do hope they can move the appointment up but if not we'll be here to help pass the time. I'm glad you didn't and that you came back to us. Even though I'm not sick (hopefully the removal won't cause too many problems next year) I get a lot... -

This has been my concern for Mia as well. I know if we were the ones dealing with chronic lyme we probably wouldn't be able to afford much in the way of treatment. It's like being between a rock and a hard spot. What's a person to do in that situation? Mia, we do love you and are concerned about your health. -
ARCHIVED Going Backwards - My Story
AndreaB replied to Derek Borckmann's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
You've been given great advice already. If after you've checked everything, got new things to replace old/scratched kitchen items, gone over personal care items etc you still don't feel better (say after another 6 months) then I would highly recommend seeing a holistic/naturopath or preferably a good LLMD to have testing done for metals, candida, lyme... -

I believe Mia was on abx earlier in the year and had just gone off of them a month or so ago to give her body a break. Mia, am I right? Carla has mentioned mixing up abx to go after different forms of bacteria, I don't know if Mia's doctor has done that. -
ARCHIVED New Here And Need Some Help
AndreaB replied to sjust's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
She's not too old for celiac. It sounds like she is intolerant to gluten and needs to stay off of it for life. If you have nonstick pans, they cannot be shared. Plates, silverware should be ok, unless they are plastic that are shared. We use HealthyTimes Baby's Herbal Garden baby shampoo and body wash. They also make a lotion and some soaps. We have... -

Definately don't quite breastfeeding if you don't have to. Go through everything with a fine tooth comb. Are you cross contaminating yourself using things the others in the house that eat gluten use? Have you checked all your soaps/shampoos/toothpastes etc? Have you gone totally gluten free? Soy free? Dairy free? Not a trace of anything from those... -
Thanks for the update. Sounds like your plate is very full. If you are exhausted on the mainline tests, would you be willing to consider alternative tests? We will keep you in our thoughts.

Those temps sound unbearable to me. Rachel would probably love them though. Monsoon season is coming up too isn't it? I thought that was July/August. I was down in Tucson visiting my dad last November. He passed away in February. November is a nice time to be down there. We got spoiled by the warmth and then came home to snow/ice. We hardly... -

According to what the reference ranges are you have an active lyme infection. That would pretty much go along with how you are feeling. When did you have these done please. I'm keeping track of dates and scores so we can see how the numbers progress through treatment and see if they correlate to how everyone is feeling. Have you been tested for co... -

Murph, I must say welcome to the second regular guy on the thread. We used to have others but haven't seen them in awhile. Cruiser Bob pops in once in awhile. What testing have you done in the past? What has made you question that something else is going on? Where do you hail from? Do you know if there are good doctors/holistic/naturopath or... -

ARCHIVED I Took My Three Kids In To Be Tested Today
AndreaB replied to TrillumHunter's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Well, we did enterolab so I can't answer specifically. My youngest hasn't been tested but his eczema cleared up going soy and then gluten free. Gluten lite wasn't good enough for him so I'm thinking he has celiac. All the children have at least one celiac gene since my husband has two. Everyone tested positive through enterolab for elevated IgA except... -

In our case going vegan probably made things worse. Tone of soy, gluten (as in vital wheat gluten) and whole wheat. That was our protein, along with rice. -

Shipping is included in the prices (or it's free). They add a processing fee of $7.50 to each order. They have really good meat. They were recommended on Mercola's site which is how I found out about them. Do you have a big freezer that you could order a larger quantity to save. They give $25 discounts for each 40 pound increment as well. -

True. Well, lets see. You've posted that lyme is a problem. Rachel has posted that a little mercury can hold up a lot of lyme (I think that was the order ). Those could be part of the problem but I suspect the borrelia more. I've also read that the "yellow" chickens are fed a high grain diet (corn). The corn turns the skin yellow....
