  1. It seems like airborne allergies are anywhere you go. I had thought Arizona would be a good place since it is so dry. My Dad lives there and he suffers from airborne allergies.....I'm starting to think food my be a part of it. He has arthritis but I don't know if it in rhuematoid or not. I get the sniffling, sneezing if I eat dairy although I'm not...
  2. I keep my big bags in the freezer. For the mix that Annalise Roberts uses I keep it out unless I'm not going to use it within a few weeks. I used to freeze everything but sometimes I would forget to take it out and then I had to wait while it warmed up to room temperature.
  3. Need more info please. If there are four flours in the blend there would be 4 parts. If the recipe calls for 1 cup flour blend you would add 1/4 cup for each part. Does that make sense?
  4. Stinger, She needs to watch out for personal care products also. Shampoo/Conditioner, soap, toothpaste etc. Also some paper products have gluten in them. I still need to check on the ones I have. Are there any particular foods that she likes. I am a former vegan and have recipes posted in the recipe section for cashew cheese, almond mayo, ranch...
  5. Ok Kathy, here is the paper. It seemed like there were some typographical errors in a spot or two but I left them as the original paper had them. I found the reactions part the most interesting and the timeline associated with those reactions. Let me know what you think.
  6. I was gluten light (due to allergy testing) for 1 1/2 months prior to ordering the enterolab tests. After reading more about enterolab and their test I decided to have it done for our whole family. My doctor was willing to test me but since I had been gluten light (very light) I figured it wouldn't come back positive. Me and my children did not have obvious...
  7. Rachel, not another blood draw! Have you recovered from the last one yet. Donna, HI!!! Carla, Enjoy your new sauna! Mitch is still nauseated, hasn't been able to keep anything down. We just talked to the doctor's office and we are going to try ibuprofen and tylenol. We are thinking it's either the narcotic or the anasthesia...
  8. Kathy, I'll post the paper later today. I started typing it out last night. Since I scanned the page into my works program I just have two windows open and it goes much faster. As far as your dairy challenge....you should be ok. They say to wait longer to make your body forget but two months is the soonest.
  9. From what I've read an allergy to one can lead to an allergy to the other.....at least in infants. Don't know about adults though. If your eczema comes back you have your answer. I personally wouldn't eat it again (but I know I'm allergic, mildly). If you do decide to eat it again, try and keep it minimal. That is sooooooo hard to do for me anyway. ...
  10. Welcome Britni....you went gluten free exactly 3 months after my family did. I'm one of those people that didn't have symptoms before going gluten lite but they started creeping up on me with stomach upset, intestinal distress until it cleared my system. I second what everyone else said. Mainly just wanted to say "hi".
  11. Wow, paper products! Will gluten never cease? I suppose I better call some manufacturers and see if I can get an answer to the paper towels. What about toilet paper? I know there is a thread on feminine hygeine. Seems I've read Charmin isn't safe. Kathy, I fourth and fifth what everyone else said. I tested through enterolab after being...
  12. Hi you guys or should I say gals! I am one of those people that didn't have symptoms. I tested IgG allergic to wheat/gluten/gliadin/soy and some beans etc....see sig. I ordered the enterolab tests (for everything) and found I'm intolerant to gluten and soy. I have not eaten soy in the form of anything but soyoil/lecithin since February and went off...
  13. Ursula, I would avoid that camp also. That gives me the creeps.
  14. Thoughts and prayers will be with you both on Friday. When is Friday in the states? I think you guys are about 9 hours ahead of us on the west coast. It's heading toward 8:30 pm over here. It is great that they can get him in so early. Thanks to your ped....sooner to start the diet and for him to feel better.
  15. I got mine back in 1 1/2-2 weeks. I think it depends on how busy they are. Some people have waited 3 weeks. Please let us know the results. I love your avatar.
  16. They'd look at us like we were crazy and from the dark ages.
  17. Celiac artery......well you were half right. Please keep us posted on how the surgery goes etc.
  18. Rachel, I don't know what those do or what they'd be looking for. Mitch is feeling nauseated and sleepy. He's on roxicet which is a generic of percoset. He was on it two years ago for his knee injury after his ACL was replaced. I know that one of the meds he was on made his nauseous and he was on roxicet then as well. He was also on vicoden...
  19. Kathy Ann, Sometimes some threads get heated but if you don't like that kind of stuff you can just ignore it and not go into it. I think the main point was to remind those who have been here for awhile that we need to stop bickering, accept people positions on a subject and support the new people coming on board. This board has grown in leaps and bounds...
  20. I remember that ping pong game! I thought it was fun. When I went to Florida to visit my grandma, they had a different atari game that I really liked...don't remember the name of that one either. Don't remember if that was when I was 9 or 14 but probably 14. I love Centipede too Julie! I think I like ms pac man better than pac man. Did the maze...
  21. Whew, I have a few minutes to catch up. We've been playing catch up with school work since grandma was here this morning. Talitha is working on math right now. We got through most of her work. We'll double up of a few lessons tomorrow and be done. Julie and Rachel, I didn't have atari but did play my friends games. I bought a nintendo system...
  22. Rachel, I'm sorry. Get that test in! How long do they need to process the urine test? Have the rescheduled you yet? Mitch came through his surgery ok. He in on pain meds. He's sleeping and I've got to wake him up soon for the next dose. The doctor we saw last night said if we had told him about this a couple months ago he could have...
  23. You could see if he likes Rice milk (Not Rice Dream), Almond milk. Blue Diamond (I think that's the brand) has almond milk that has some soy in it. Pacific makes almond milk that is ok. I assume blue diamond tastes better since it has the soy in it. One thing I tried with my kids is combining two milks. Combine rice/almond with the soy start out...
  24. Rinne, gfp and others. I also agree that we need to encourage people to continue to try and get to the bottom of their health issues. Yes, this is a celiac board and that is the main thrust of finding what is wrong. Many other things are also made worse by gluten. I have no knowledge of other illnesses but will keep in mind trying to tell people to...
  25. Hi Meridith!!!!!! That's great that you "bumped" into some food. How are you doing? Have time for siteseeing etc? Oh yes, snowy Alberta. My stepdad is from that area. Shouldn't that have been a celebratory toast? (as in toasted bread )
