ARCHIVED Prometheus Vs. Enterolab Testing
AndreaB replied to High-Tech Mom's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Very. The only thing I wasn't allergic to were oats and barley. I maybe had cereal 1-3x week which had oats/barley/corn or combinations thereof. I mainly eat rice. I was drinking rice dream milk which has the barley enzyme and would have granola once in awhile or oatmeal. I would have the rice dream every day to help with calcium. My son's eczema... -
ARCHIVED Prometheus Vs. Enterolab Testing
AndreaB replied to High-Tech Mom's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Out of the four of us tested by enterolab, one came back negative (my husband, although he has 2 celiac genes). We all didn't have symptoms and I was tested due to allergies that I found out about. Now if we get glutened we know it. The whole family is gluten free. If I had not had allergy testing done and gone on to enterolab who knows how sick we... -
Ok All..... We are starting school today so my responses may get very brief. The first week or two are slower but once we get into the full day I may not have much time aside from reading. All of you are always in my thoughts though even if I don't have time to post.

Ryan, First of all a big hug. I understand what you are going through. My husband and my situation was similar. It took his divorce 2 1/2 to 3 years to be finalized, although I knew he was "married". It was a long wait for us until we could be married, long custody battle. Anyway, on the issue of trust. I am a christian so am coming from that angle...

Welcome Carrie, glad to have you. Prince Edward island. My dad was there about 10 years ago during the fall colors. He loved it. That was when he was traveling in the RV. He even got to meet my husband's mother before I did. He stopped on his way through Pennsylvania. It's been quieter here lately, so not too hard to keep up with. Almost...

Julie, Checking in. Just got back from getting all (hopefully) of the art supplies for the year.....plus some. It has been quiet in here. A lot of people must be getting in their last bit of fun before school starts for the year again.

You can you it to replace butter in all recipes if it is refined. If it is unrefined, then only in recipes that you don't mind the coconut flavor in. I used refined with carob powder, mix it up add a touch of sugar and milk, some coconut (shredded) and some sliced almonds for you own smooth homemade type almond joy. -

Tiffany, I loved the whole thing but didn't want to copy it all again. Too funny. Yes, I picked up on it. Very original answers, brought lots of giggles to my and my husbands afternoon. -
I have read of people having lattes, so I assume they are ok.....but not sure since I don't drink them.
-
Rant away Tavi. I'd be upset with the doctor of your brother also. Why do most doctors etc think that this diet is so hard? I'm glad they found out about celiac and can now work towards better health.

Donna, I had a root canal last year (sept I think). I still bothered me in March. Now the pain seems to be mostly gone. The hygenist told me it could take up to a year. I never had the pain that you have though, my toothe just couldn't handle hot or cold foods. Have you ever heard of or read up on cavitations? Do a google search.....I lost... -
ARCHIVED Prometheus Vs. Enterolab Testing
AndreaB replied to High-Tech Mom's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I had my family (minus infant) tested by enterolab because of all the good things I had read about them. I am very satisfied with them. From what I understand they test for and recognize more genes. They include gluten sensitive genes. Our results are in our sig....our oldest son even had mild malabsorption. We are a family that didn't have obvious signs...
