  1. Autumn, You also don't want to deny yourself a treat now and then. I was on weight watchers one summer in college and lost about 30 pounds I think. I went ballistic after I got back to school and gained all of it back plus some. I deprived myself too long. Treats aren't bad in and of themselves. Make them as healthy as can be, or have smaller servings...
  2. Hi Rachel.....if you're still on here. Have a great weekend and I'll talk to you later.
  3. Autumn, First of all a big HUG. Don't be so hard on yourself. Yes, you ate some things that would have been better balanced out and it throws you for a loop.....but please don't let it get you down. That will only serve to make you more inclined to indulge (if you're anything like me anyway). My mindset has always been "I've blown it, why not...
  4. Congratulations!
  5. Jenn, Welcome to the board! I was on a vegan diet until this came up. I am now eating meat again along with eggs, but we only buy 100% grass fed beef, organic, free range chicken, eggs etc. Are you sincerely allergic to eggs or could it be a hidden problem with gluten and/or soy? I don't know of any other protein sources aside from alternative...
  6. Hi Rinne! I'm doing good. Just getting ready to head out the door to pick up hubby's paycheck. He won't be home in time to get it. I wanted to say "hi" though.
  7. I don't know how I missed this thread yesterday! Too funny. BTW I hate public restrooms and only use them if necessary....but I much prefer them over the port a potties.
  8. epicurious.com also has gluten free recipes and you can choose what else to leave out of the search. Click on the advanced recipes or something like that to get to the area that you can search for gluten free ones. Open Original Shared Link
  9. Enterolab is accurate since it measures the antibodies in the stool. The antibodies are in the intestines before it has built up enough to be in the blood. My almost 4 year old tested positive and had no obvious signs of intolerance as did my daughter who is 6. You would have to look at enterolab website to determine what you wanted. I got the whole...
  10. Leah, That's great on both fronts! Chelsea, Hopefully this is something that will heal in time as you are gluten free longer. It must be very annoying not being able to pinpoint something.......same for you Julie. My family is also one that would bury their heads in the sand. Mitch's ex was going to look into testing. She says...
  11. Donna, I hope you get some answers at the dentist. That stinks.
  12. Chelsea, I hope you get better and better each day. I know it must be hard, especially with the pain. HUGS.
  13. Hi Julie, I'm in and out of here, just keeping up. I've been working on updateing the checkbook . I've got to order some more things for Talitha for school (and fun stuff for Micah) and still make the phonics group cards. I have flash cards but these are different. My handwriting is not good, to say the least. I might have to figure out how I can...
  14. Thanks for the recipe Linda. I got it copied over.
  15. That was an interesting article about the nightshades. Karen, I only had minimal joint pain and don't know whether it was attributable to gluten and/or soy since I cut out both around the same time.
  16. Tanya, I'd keep on breast feeding as long as she is interested. Seems like a good idea to me to have some in the freezer for the cold/flu season. I've read that milk only keeps 6 months (but I'm sure you know that). Can she drink out of a sippy cup? Do you think she'd take the milk from that? My pediatrician when we were in a HMO told me to nurse...
  17. Keep us posted on the Lame Advertisement test Christina. Glad to hear that you are feeling better.
  18. I hope it didn't mess up your schedule too much. I always hated having to rearrange everything. Glad to hear that everything is going well and that you got a new job! That's great that you got a house. Should be much easier for you as far as cc issues. We will continue to await your muffin investigation.
  19. Wow, that's great! So now you are official. So now are you officially Rachel's boss or still her friend not boss? I know she's her own boss though, right? Good thing we don't all live near each other. We might have to do something to him and his troublemaker attitude.
  20. Hi Meredith! How's it going down under?
  21. Yippee, yahoo! Confetti, streamers flying. Now what. What was the test for/about? Kris, That's great! I like your new pic too.
  22. I know what you mean. Dave, I see you! How did you test go Monday....you never told us.
  23. It's an online cookbook that was offered for free along with the purchase of another online book. It's in pdf format so harder to copy over but I could work with it if you have anything you'd like me to look up. I've used a cornbread recipe out of it that is fabulous. Also if you eat dairy products they have a wonderful (I thought anyway) cream of mushroom...
  24. Hi Laura and welcome ! I was one that didn't have any obvious symptoms. I got allergy testing because my infant son broke out with eczema on his face. After going gluten lite and soy free he was much better but not cleared up. I then did testing with enterolab and due to the results went gluten free. His face cleared up completely after that. ...
  25. HI JULIE!!!! We are on at the same time tonight! It's been awhile. My replies have been slow to post so it's not just you.
