  1. I'm sorry Carla. I hope you don't have any lengthening effects with still getting over the weekend.
  2. Here is fine, then others can use it if they want. I have the Big Book of Gluten Free Recipes that I got online. It has banana bread recipes which I haven't tried yet. I think Annalise Roberts does too. I always like to compare recipes.
  3. More like 4 or 5 x. That's great that you have a roomie that will understand your need to be gluten free. So glad that you are doing well and I understand about missing your family....especially as close as you are. Cheese.....oops.
  4. Good news Chelsea....now onward with the gluten free diet and no looking back.
  5. We just bought 2 boxes of rice flakes cereal by Arrowhead. We haven't had the maple buckwheat since going gluten free and haven't had these since then either. Now I wonder if I should just take them back.
  6. Linda, I wouldn't mind the recipe. I can't do soy but that is easily fixed.
  7. Rachel, How are you feeling? I get concerned when you're Racheling since that usually means that you won't feel very well for a time. That's cute about your mom. Carla, The first few days of college are always hectic and lots of stuff is always planned out for the freshmen. She'll be on after things slow down I'm sure. Morgan...
  8. The whole gluten panel they due including gene testing is $369 (it included dairy in May), and the soy/egg/yeast panel is $199. Open Original Shared Link
  9. I had allergy testing done by us biotek. I was satisfied with them. See sig for anything that mid around mid-low to low-high. I had numerous veggies just over the line into low that I didn't list and still eat for the most part. It was what alerted me to my wheat and soy problems which I later tested intolerant to through enterolab. It is pricey but...
  10. Have fun Armetta! Talk to you when you get back.
  11. I have one of each gene (celiac and gluten sensitive/intolerant). Since I was tested by enterolab I don't know which I have and always refer to myself as gluten intolerant. I never noticed any symptoms before but now if I get glutened I have tummy troubles and intestinal pain/diarrhea for about a day. The last time (my mother used white flour to braise...
  12. Don't you hate that!
  13. 1. FIRST NAME? Andrea 2. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE? No 3. WHEN DID YOU LAST CRY? A few months ago I think 4. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING? No 5. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT? Turkey 6. 14. Off to get the baby down for a nap, get my shower and get me some food. Hi Patti! Rachel, I know your lunch time will be over soon so I'll see you sometime after work.
  15. Rachel, With the night I had last night....if I hadn't had any leftovers I would have told the kids to have cereal. We are out of bread....something I'm supposed to make today.
  16. Is there such a thing as brain fog for no reason? Last night I got the kids their dinner and had mine in the oven, with the oven off, so it would keep warm. Since we ran errands yesterday, Seth didn't get his full afternoon nap because he fell asleep about 20 minutes from home. Fed him his dinner and then fed him again an hour later to get him to bed...
  17. Evie, My outside life is this forum. I like to stay home. I like people too, but find it easier to "meet" with my friends here (on the forum). Have a fun day today!
  18. I suspect the majority, if not all your weight, will come off quickly. Is your picture a cat dressed like a penuin, or a penquin dressed like a cat?
  19. Daffadilly already said it all. He got a gene from you and a gene from his father. The gene testing would just tell you which ones he got, or which ones you have if you get tested. If you know his you know that one of them is yours but not which one. With my two children tested so far, they both got completely different combinations (see sig), we are...
  20. It is highly possible that they do or will develop a gluten sensitivity or celiac. I had my family tested by enterolab and found that myself, daughter and oldest son have active gluten sensitivity (or intolerance). My infant son wasn't tested. My husband is the only one not active and he has 2 celiac genes. Definately something to look into. Whether...
  21. It certainly won't hurt going gluten free. Many have gone by positive dietary response only. It is highly possible that the bloodwork would be false negative. If you are at the beginnings of celiac disease then it wouldn't necessarily show in your blood yet. Try to save up for gene testing from enterolab if nothing else. They test for more genes (or...
  22. Yippee! Congratulations!
  23. Thanks Evie. We adore the little guy. He's just starting to cut his first tooth.....finally! He's also a very tired little guy as he fell asleep on the way home from errands and didn't get his regular naptime in. Getting all geared up to start school with my daughter on the 4th. Still trying to round up some stuff for teachers aids....need to finish...
  24. Interesting article, thank you for posting it.
