  1. Susan, I don't have an official diagnosis. Got tested by enterolab and got the results this past June....been totally gluten free since. Was gluten light for 2 months prior to that due to allergy test results.
  2. Sandy: Veteranarian technician; Animal caretaker Wow, sounds like you have a great job! I always wanted to work with animals but didn't like science and am not fond of the idea of putting an animal down (I'd cry for everyone's beloved pets). Don't know how I'd do with surgery type stuff. Love animals though. Jeny is the other veterinarian...
  3. Stephanie, What a thing to have to go through. Hang in there!
  4. I just found out I have gluten intolerance (through enterolab) after my third baby. They were spaced around 3 years apart. If I had had them closer together I wonder if things would have been worse. Someone told me it takes the body 7 years to recoup from a pregnancy. I had knee/ankle joint pain and lower leg pain from the 3rd trimester during my first...
  5. Hi all. I did read everything so this isn't really a drive-by.... BTW I always love everyone's new pictures even when I don't single them out. Susan, your daughter did a good job. Morgan, Hang in there....it will be worth it. I need to curtail my sugar eating again too (enjoy life chocolate chips) Robbin, Always good to see you...
  6. I had my family (except infant) tested for all the intolerances that enterolab tests for. The info is in our sig. Anything posted was above the normal range. I probably wouldn't have known for awhile if I hadn't been pursueing my baby's eczema. Allergy testing and eliminating most of those foods helped but didn't clear him up. Once I went totally gluten...
  7. I do have a recipe for plain corn chips. I'm sure you could add what was necessary to doctor them up. Crispy Corn Chips from Newstart Lifestyle Cookbook by Weimar Institute 2 1/2 dozen corn tortillas 1 cup water 1 tablespoon salt of garlic salt Cut each tortilla into 6 wedges. Mix water and salt and place in a sprayer or shallow bowl. Lightly...
  8. Hi Kelly and welcome to the board! I have not been gluten free for pregnancies. I was my last baby that alerted me to a problem. He broke out with eczema at about 2-2 1/2 months old. That led me to allergy testing and then to testing through enterolab. This last pregnancy was my only vegan pregnancy and I still wonder how much damage I caused him...
  9. Aside from the possible cc that you already mentioned, two other big culprits are dairy and soy. If you eat them try cutting out one for a month and note any changes and then the other (but don't reintroduce the first one you go off of). Note any changes and stay off both for at least two months, preferably longer (4-6 months) and then reintroduce a month...
  10. Glad it's over and things went well. Will be waiting for the results.
  11. I've got to get the baby boy to bed. By the time I get back you all will probably be gone. Such is life with little ones. I miss most of the fun this time of evening though. Gotta let Mitch on for awhile too. He is usually on while I'm waiting for Seth to go to sleep. He's into playing in the crib now that he can stand up. So now it takes longer...
  12. Did you have your biopsy today? When will you get results?
  13. Everyone is cracking me up tonight!
  14. Dealing with Adrenal Fatigue Leigh Ann Garsteckil Nutrition & Lifestyle Coach Do you always feel fatigued? Are you overwhelmingly stressed? Do you suffer from frequent illness, anxiety, or poor concentration? These are all signs of adrenal fatigue and by eating properly you could alleviate some of your symptoms. If you suffer from adrenal fatigue...
  15. Rachel, Rachel, Rachel, What are we going to do with you? I'm no expert in this area....but I believe if you overdo the natural sugars it can cause problems too.
  16. Morgan, Why are you giving up chocolate? Did I forget?
  17. How true.....MINOR oversite on my part.
  18. Natural sugars are supposed to be better for you. You obviously would need less agave to get the same sweetness so that is better. If you need to give your body a break I would think it would be necessary to go off of all sugars for a few weeks. The only problem is...I don't know what you'd eat since you are already so limited. We switch between...
  19. I'm gluten/soy free and dairy very light and so glad I didn't have to give up pasta! Yeah for Tinkyada pasta. And I'm glad that I found chocolate that I could eat.....enjoy life chocolate chips.
  20. No way! Whereas I was one who didn't have obvious symptoms...I now know when I've been glutened and I do everything I can to avoid it. Oil that has been used to fry foods with gluten is contaminated and should not be used for gluten intolerant/celiacs.
  21. Rachel, I figured you'd post about these if they were a histamine food. We don't typically have problems with histamines but I will definately be more watchful since we are allergic to some beans....makes sense that other problems could follow if we 'Rachel' something. We don't eat most of what's on the list except the fruit category. We try...
  22. Open Original Shared Link I found this interesting. I am intolerant to soy. I posted a different article on soy allergy in the OMG I might be on to something page 402 or 403 I think. Not before page 400 for those interested in that.
  23. An article I found on soy allergies. Soy Allergy From Judy Tidwell, Your Guide to Allergies. FREE Newsletter. Sign Up Now! Soy Has at Least 15 Allergenic Proteins Soy, also referred to as soya, soy bean, or glycine max, is among the main foods that produce reactions worldwide -- mostly, but not exclusively, in infants. It is not completely certain...
