  1. So my brother calls me this morning. (my identical twin, for those who don't know) He says they ran out of bread at his house, and he'd been feeling pretty good. His wife went and bought a couple loaves and he said "I had three Chicken Sandwiches". He says "My butt is scorched". I'm about rolling on the floor laughing, because of the way he's describing...
  2. If you call wanting to rip the hearts out of young children "anti-social" then I guess I qualify. A bit over-dramatic, but I experience serious irritability, depression and just plain feel horrid. My dad had this and solved the problem by hitting the bottle of JD. It makes me want to curl up in a ball and hide in my bedroom.
  3. On the weekend mornings, I get up early and go have a cup of coffee with my mom. She always keeps nice loaves of 12 grain bread etc... This weekend I can't tell you how much I was lusting over a piece of toast. I REALLY REALLY wanted one..... I haven't dreamt about bread yet.......

    ARCHIVED Omg.....

When put that way I guess I could consider it. I was thinking this weekend that the gluten-free bread isn't bad with a ton of butter and then cream cheese to top it off. However, if you need to put that stuff on in order to eat the "bread" did ya really need to bother with the "bread" anyway? I mean, you could put enough condiments on a piece of...

I usually mark my gluten-free stuff "DADS" so the kids know they will face my wrath if they eat it. They know they better darn well stay out of my fritos, since it's one of my few treats. Strangely, I didn't feel the need to protect my "loaf" of gluten-free bread. I think they might try it..once. Once would be enough

    ARCHIVED Omg.....

Well I had my teeth done about 6 years ago, so that might be why it looks different. I am older and wiser in the new pic We do have a bread machine....I debated buying a bread mix yesterday, but it seemed like too much trouble so I didn't. Having tasted the horrendousness of the unbuttered gluten-free bread, I am now more inclined to give the mix...
  7. Tigard is actually within driving distance of me....I'll give em a try.
  8. Cool thanks!!!!
  9. Se, Jerry uses La Choy. Both their Soy Sauce and Teryaki Sauce are gluten-free. No side effects here.

Yes this summer, I've decided to forgo lawn and house maintenance in lieu of baking. I mean my wife always says I
  11. Funny, I've mentioned to you guys that I had to have all my teeth reconstructed with crowns due to enamel defects right? I paid over 20K to have it done, and darn it, I was going to have those darn things WHITE. You get to select the color, just like going to the paint store:) After it was done, I went golfing with a buddy, from across the fairway he...
  12. No it was on the bread isle next to the "Tapioca Loaves" which is a whole new line of discussion;) I didn't know to look in the frozen foods...
  13. So there is a speciality store down the block from work. I took advantage of a little slack time to go in search of some gluten-free bread. I found the same sad, tired gluten, dairy, wheat free loaves that were at our major supermarket. Quite disappointing actually. I finally decided to buy a Gluten Free (but not dairy or yeast free) "Raisin...

Good one! You might be on to something. I think it's safe to assume the Space Shuttle Tiles are gluten-free
  15. Wow, thanks! I think I feel smarter now...
  16. Interesting stuff. This guy states that Within the group of patients with neurological disease and gluten sensitivity (defined by the presence of anti-gliadin antibodies) we have found a similar HLA association to that seen in patients with celiac disease: 70% of patients have the HLA DQ2 (30% in the general population), 9% have the HLA DQ8, and the remainder...

Close to my work is a "New Seasons" store, which I'm told has a nice selection of gluten-free free stuff. I'll try there...Anyone familiar with New Seasons?
  18. I must be a member. Without Cow, Chicken and Pig...I would starve. No offense to those who are veggies:)

So this Jerry dude goes shopping yesterday evening. He decides to look in the health food section (which incidentally smells really nasty, like a pharmacy) to see if he can find Gluten Free bread. Having learned about Spelt and "flourless" Sprouted Wheat bread, I smugly pass them by. They look nice, but I've learned my lesson. I see these wierd...
  21. Believe me I've dealt with my share of doctors wearing blinders. So I did test positive for the antibodies..IF..you count an Enterolab diagnosis as positive proof of Gluten Intolerance... That seems to be open for debate and quite honestly I don't know how I feel about Enterolab. The guy is either brilliant and on the cutting edge, or he is convinced...
  22. Too many prunes Seriously, I do understand...I just don't like it. It's ok not to be happy about it right? I want to be all tough and manly and Gluten Intolerance doesn't do it for me.
  23. I know two things really. Gluten makes me feel bad and gives me the runs when I eat it. This isn't proof that it's causing damage. This is the crux of my psychological turmoil. No proof. Without a Celiac diagnosis, I can never be 100% sure it really is the gluten. I mean sure...you eat a few cookies and get the runs...what else could it be right...
  24. True...however my gripe about Gluten Intolerance is...it's a pretty restrictive lifestyle AND according to my doctor and the medical community at large, I don't have a "disease". This frustrates the hell out of me..in addition to the constant "food lust" that someone commented on yesterday. Add to this the constant doubts a non diagnosis gives you......
