  1. You are right..spelt is ingrained in my memory. Funny thing is, I don't get much symptoms... just whoooomp and it's outta here. My body doesn't even bother with cramps or anything
  2. Yah...glad I only ate one slice....it seems like my body is more sensitive to it now.... hits the reject button in a hurry...
  3. Sigh...severe rookie mistake.... I fell for the label on one of those specialized loafs of breads..."spelt, a natural alternative to wheat". Spelt was one of those grains that I remember being on one of those "safe grain" lists..right?..right!.(these are the voices in my head at the store) I was so proud of "my find" and I raced home and made...
  4. Yah we leave on the cruise Saturday morning. I'll probably hear something Friday evening Any way you look at it, I will behave as if eating gluten makes me sick (which it does) and who want's to have the runs on a cruise?? Breakfast will be easy...eggs, bacon fruit...no problem. I'll have to be careful what else I eat...if it looks suspect, it...
  5. Except for chronic heartburn, my gastro symptoms have become much quieter after a week gluten-free. I don't know how much Celiac makes you more prone to reflux, but I definately am. Sill waiting impatiently for test results (blood tests from Kaiser) (gene tests from Enterolab). I'm keeping my expectations low as medical science has failed me thus far...
  6. So I've talked about my brother some... Can't remember if I talked much about my dad. Dad seems to have had the classic Celiac body shape. I know he had gastro symptoms, because I lived with him for years. He had fatigue, lethargy, aches and pains...he quit working when he was 55 because he was "all stove up". Dad was perhaps 5'6".. Talking to...
  7. No, he hasn't been tested...he's figuring since he's my identical twin, the gene and blood tests will apply for both of us. I know supposedly there's only a 70% chance that an identical twin has it, but get real...if I have it he does.
  8. Yes and watching him do exactly the same thing I did is cracking me up This will go on for weeks
  9. Now the goober e-mails me and says..."I been on the toydee all morning". I asked him if he believed and told him to "repent sinner". I figured it out the same way.
  10. There should be a Gluten Intolerance Limbo forum.... I keep waiting for my test results....logging into my e-mail account at my HMO hoping to see them... Waiting is killing me...
  11. Funny, my wife tried to kiss me the other night with garlic bread crumbs all over her lips. I brushed them off:)
  12. And where would you have me post... There are so many forum's here and I'm resistant to change. It feels funny posting in the "Celiac Disease" forums, cause you know, I just don't have an official diagnosis. Maybe there should be a "Gluten Purgatory" forum for guys like me:)
  13. So a couple days ago, my brother smugly announced he'd eaten two chicken sandwiches one day and then pizza for dinner, with basically no effect. So the last couple days, he'd slipped back to eating whatever he wanted...yesterday he had a couple soft (flour) tacos for lunch etc.. Basically told me his aches and pains were gone...likely from the new AD...
  14. And I bet at some point they realize there are two distinct types of Celiac...juvenile and adult onset... Just like diabetes.... Just thinking out loud.
  15. This is the new diabetes. A product of our 20th century diet, where people have stopped cooking their own food and are buying pre-packaged food, all loaded with wheat. The problem is, unlike diabetes, the symptoms come on slow and don't kill you right away. The most obvious symptoms are quite personal in nature, and people either don't know they have...
  16. There was a story on our local news here in Portland, about a local lady with two children diagnosed with autism. She visited a naturopath...who tested them for wheat and it was off the charts. During the interview, this lady basically said her children now had a chance for a normal life, because the gluten-free diet had cured their symptoms. I'm sure...
  17. After my results came back from Enterolab, positive for both Fecal Antigliadin and Transglutaminase....I got pretty wacked out about it myself. First I was in denial, then I finally decided to go two weeks completely gluten-free, which pretty much killed my denial. The two reasons you want to be diagnosed make complete sense to me, cause that is EXACTLY...
  18. That's bad I understand your fear tho, I'm worried they are going to want to scope me also.
  19. One of the things I've found so refreshing about this board is that the members are so very supportive of each other. Although I haven't been here long enough to understand the history here this thread has made me uncomfortable. What I was really hoping to discover is were there others like me who felt a bit of withdrawal symptoms after stopping gluten...
  20. What's surprising is that it bothers me so bad, yet I've not lost any weight. In fact if I quit exercising, I'd probably gain weight quickly. In any case, I want to remember this post, so that if my testing comes out negative, I can remember why I quit doing bread.....
  21. Sunday...Monday and Tuesday was hopefully my last intentional glutening. I had bread...pasta...apple fritters. I noticed Wednesday that like my whole insides are "raw" feeling. From my stomach to my (sorry) butt. It like even hurt to sit. Even if my tests come out negative, who wants to live like that? Jerry
  22. Hmmmm, this was exactly what it felt like to me. I thought it was my imagination. Weird...who would've thought?
  23. I'm wondering if anyone has a good idea how long these results take. I'm going on a Mexico cruise in ahem...9 days:) Hoping I have the results back by then....
  24. Absolutely I can relate to that feeling. Especially when I was forcing myself to eat stuff that I know is going to give me the runs or make me feel horrible. At some point you have to just let it go and do the best that you can do. I've done what I can do, I've had Enterolab testing, I have gene testing and a Celiac panel queued up. I've done due diligence...
  25. I will feel like an outcast if both my gene test and Celiac Panel come out negative
