  1. Relacore is an otc cortisol blocker. It's marketed as a weight loss aide. I buy mine at Kroger because it's cheaper there than drug stores. Cortislim is about the same thing, but for me it doesn't work as well. I tried it because my doctor thought that my hives might be from stress. It helped with them, so I thought I had found the solution for a while. Eventually...
  2. I'd say that depends on each kid. My little brother stayed sick for 5 days or more when something knocked him down. My son is almost always better in 3 days no matter what he's dealing with.
  3. Girl Ninja or Girl Head are hubby's affectionate nicknames for me. If he has a specific reason for choosing those, I don't know what it is. What a weirdo, eh? It's cool, though. It could be soo much worse. kaycee - LMAO! That's awesome. My grandma has 4 daughters. Her youngest is my aunt Barb. She's in her 40's now and to this day whenever my grandma...
  4. In addition to a variety of other symptoms, gluten makes me extremely over sensitive and depressed. I spend at least a whole day crying, sometimes more. I stress about issues in my personal relationships (like my brother must hate me because he hasn't called me in a month) that really aren't there. I feel overwhelmed by even simple tasks if there's any obligation...
  5. The Denny's I worked at used a powdered ranch we had to mix up ourselves and I believe the mix was from Hidden Valley. Aren't their normal ranch dressings we can get at the store not safe either?
  6. Is there an Asian market anywhere near you? I have looked for wonton wraps that don't have wheat gluten, but I haven't found any at the mainstream grocers near me. All the spring roll wraps I've found have wheat. I think I might have to find myself an Asian market. It's the crab rangoon I miss the most. As for the sausage, I think we need more info on...
  7. The gold Dial always made me itch like crazy. But not the other scents so much. We use Irish Spring and Dove stuff. Here's the H&B Delphi List: Health and Beauty Products Act AntiCavity Flouride Rinses (Johnson and Johnson) (1-866-228-7467) (vp=01/18/2004) ALL flavors are gluten free Act Flouride (ACT Reach) - (Johnson & Johnson) (1-86...
  8. You have a wonderful opportunity to become a specialty baker. Celiac Specialties in Chesterfield, MI is hiring gluten-free bakers right now. Good luck!!
  9. Jolly Ranchers are ok, and Lifesavers will clearly list any gluten ingredients.
  10. Irish and French-Canadian-Indian. That second one is all one. My great grandmother was Indian and lived on a reservation in Canada. She had a tribal name and also a French name.
  11. I'm curious about the ring too. I got the Dep shot for a while. Made me gain 25 lbs. I liked it other than that, but I knew lots of people who had the extended bleeding problem. My cousin was on it for years after she had her daughter. Then she divorced, married a new guy, and started trying for a baby with her new husband. It took her 5 years to conceive...
  12. Thanks, guys! I just got a puppy myself and I've been feeling kind of sick ever since, so i was wondering the same things. Does anyone have recipes for making your own dog treats? I'm gonna look for the Milk Bone ones tonight.
  13. All wine and champagne is ok. 14. Excedrin has a little bit of caffeine in it. It was originally formulated for people experiencing caffeine withdrawal. I've always just quit cold turkey when I felt the need for caffeine becoming obsessive. I can't wean very well.
  15. My last reaction lasted 8 days and I'm still getting spotty flare-ups of hives which is my most persistent symptom. It seems to me that I get a totally new symptom every time. This time it was an awful sore throat. Some people have said they react for 10 days or more.
  16. I get awful headaches. I'd be lost without excedrin migraine. Excedrin tension headache for those who can't have aspirin.

  18. I like to make a big batch of Bob's hot cereal on Sunday and keep it in the fridge to microwave all week. It's soo good with some nuts, dried cranberries, butter, and brown sugar (just a little, but it makes such a difference!). Mmmmm.
  19. I also vote for almond milk. We drank that and used it for cereal and baking when we were vegetarian. I liked it the best of all the milk alternatives.
  20. I'm still feeling my last glutening. Tuesday night at work, I ate 6 caramel mini rice cakes from Quaker. I realize I should know better. Within 15 minutes I started getting hives, dizzy, felt like I might pass out, migraine, sore throat, sore body and joints, really cold. The guy I work with got to watch it start. He was amazed at how fast I reacted. It was...
  21. I have tested negative for wheat allergy, but am absolutely intolerant. The docs I saw didn't seem to realize the two could exist separately, so did not consider Celiac possible for me.
  22. Munchkinette - I tried this recipe last week and my family totally loved it. I found it in a different forum and I don't know who it originated with. It was really satisfying. The commentary isn't mine. I copied it along with the recipe. I did my own with 2 medium eggs at 400 for 20 min and I thought it was fine. Pizza Crust you take 3 cups cooked rice...
  23. Last week I met a guy who has been a general manager for Outback for 13 years. He has worked at 5 stores in MI. No one had ever explained the gluten free menu to him. He thought all of the stuff on it was sugar free. Kinda scary. I did my best to explain it to him.
  24. Mango04 - Then what?? jabberwife - I brush with egg and then cover with crushed nuts and whatever spices or marinade strikes my fancy. I made the rice pizza crust recipe someone posted. It was awesome! And Pamela's chocolate chunk cookies were really good too.
