    I learned the hardway last Wednesday. I ordered off a gluten free menu without speaking to the manager and I got sick for a couple days. I am still itchy from the DH. Be safe and enjoy your dinner!

    Please be careful with yourself. I agree with everyone and I did see my diagnosis as a good thing even if it's hard. And it IS hard, but worth it. I am under 30 and have bones like a 70 year old. Before I knew any of this, I was learning to go over jumps in the snowboard park. I want to be doing that for years, but I don't know if I'll break a hip, now...

    You took the words right out of my mouth! (also. . .rice and beans, can't get cheaper and you can do mexican, indian, salads, & soups all with the same base. Just change spices)

    Thanks Suicidal Turtle. This Chili's was in the Lincoln Mall in Lincoln, RI. I had Kettle Black beans, pico, salsa, guac, and rice, all from the gluten-free menu. Alas. perhaps there was some nitwit speak.

    First off, congrats on your baby! Glad you have an official dg and are feeling better. Just wanted to add my friend's sister in law's celiac was triggered during her pregnancy. There is going to be a great big gluten free table at my friends upcoming wedding. I keep hearing about her SIL and will finally meet her!

My periods are really far apart and I am taking vitimins. I don't think I am technically underweight but have lost a little, only because I don't eat as many cupcakes...

    I am a fan of Rainbow Light Just Once Prenatal One. It says right on it that it contains no gluten (and other stuff I don't want). It has ginger in it to help tummies and does not make me burpy.     I hear that. Thanks for the recipes and suggestions. Trader Joes also carries frozen fries you can throw in the toaster oven. They are mighty good, but man I miss french fries out.

    That's a good way to put it for me too. It is important to maintain a gluten free diet in order for your body to properly absorb nurtients and all that. Besides feeling a little bit (or a lot) bad after I ate, I felt fine. Little did I know I was not absorbing calcium and now have low bone denisty.     I'm in the club now, whether I like it or not. Had a bone scan last Wed. Doc called this morning to tell me to take 1500mg of cal a day because I've got osteopenia. I don't know the results in detail; they'll mail them to me. Just turned 28 a week ago. Happy birthday to me. I guess it's good to know now and try to reverse it. I would have never guessed...
