Bully that recipe for spinach in the pregnant section sounds good. What kind of oil? Do you ever juice? I got out of the habit when I went on that trip. I'm going down and make one. Anyone have a good veggie juice? I think I'll do a carrot and pineapple. LL -

ARCHIVED Public Restroom Handsoap
lindalee replied to BRUMI1968's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
We could just carry a trial size bottle of gluten-free soap with us. Anyone know of gluten-free wipes? I don't use the soap in the bathrooms because If I don't know it is gluten-free I start itching. I put some liquid soap on me a few months ago thinking it was hand cream and it was like hysterical looking back-trying to get it off with paper towels and... -

I was reading about egg whites last night on www.mercola.com. Just search egg white. He says don't eat them. I'd post it for you but my computer skills need improving. This is a good site. LindaLee -
The oil of oregano took away the itching when I had the problem. I think I'll take some tonight for the ear. I just put a drop in water. I don't know, you could try that or a different shampoo. LL

ARCHIVED Wal-mart Yogurt
lindalee replied to gymnastjlf's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I was told that they vary because different stores carry different products supplied by different people. One local store may have alot of gluten-free items and another few. I know that is true because I was in Va. Beach and bought several palm trees for $3.oo and told a friend and we went to the one in Norfolk and they had none. Norfolk was selling theirs... -
I went through that a few months ago and switched to a shampoo with no sodium laurel sulfates. I was totally dreading the shampoo thing until I switched. I went to the grocery store and bought Avalon Organics-tea tree mint treatment. It is the only one I saw without SLS. Now I am dealing with the itchy ear occasionally. When I used the other shampoo...

Thanks, that and Adele are both saying iron. LL -
This is a terrific book. I haven't finished it yet. It is about a doctor who became ill. It explains the symptoms and what she did to get through the illness. She covers it all from the toxic effects of the drugs to the battle to recover from the immune system war to the challenge of socialization and "her foods". You can't help but relate to her!! ...

ARCHIVED Ridges In Fingernails
lindalee replied to lindalee's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
"Let's Get Well" by Adelle Davis....fingernails that split, break off , are extremely thin, or fail to grow indicate a lack of protein or vit. A, and the rate of nail growth has been used as a measure of protein adequacy......Transverse ridges are formed during menstruation and longitudinal ones occur when anemia is present. If nails... -

ARCHIVED New Development-blisters
lindalee replied to lindalee's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
They say the ridges mean not absorbing nutrients. I had the itching blisters before and my finger got so swollen I had to have my ring cut off. Do you have a cat? After my stressful traffic trip back home, I cleaned out the litter box. I'm careful when I do that, but you never know. LL -

Murlene, try to look on the bright side. You know what you have. Now the only thing we have to do is learn everything we can to not get gluttened!!! Calcium and magnesium help with the weight. I don't have that issue. I do need to exercise more. Hang in there, LindaLee -

ARCHIVED Bath And Body Works
lindalee replied to Moongirl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
What is wrong with these people? I don't understand why they don't just give us a list. It is simple marketing 101--I am overwhelmed as it is, why would I go in there and buy stuff if I have to read all those products? It takes so much time. Plus the fact, I might not have my magnifying glass!! Thanks for sharing.LL -
