  1. Well, I see your point, but we are a mixed bag of folks, after all, with different styles. I know that when I've been glutened I have a hard time being anything but straightforward, which could easily seem militant in typing. I try to assume that others are the same, if a post seems just a bit snarky to me. If you see a post that you feel is beyond the...
  2. Corn affects my psoriasis, both skin and joints. I can eat a little processed, but absolutely no whole corn.
  3. You gots to try! Manda is picture chronically her wee (very wee) babes. Tis wonderful to see them growing and changing by the minute.
  4. I think what we on the board try to do is get someone to cite their source. It's up to each individual person that's interested in the topic to go to the source and decide for his or herself if they feel it's valid enough to believe.

Perfect! Tell him you'd like to start interviewing maids as soon as possible.
  6. Too many walnuts have always given me stomach cramps, even if I'm picking them off the tree.
  7. If it works for you, that's really the only thing that matters. Study results are really only relevant to the average person. We're all well above average here.
  8. I agree with "She didn't really read it" crowd. I interpret your post as saying something more along the lines of "celiac disease controls my diet, not my life". Maybe the person who responded to you still needs to feel like her life is under the control of something/someone other than herself,
  9. Great topic! I drank oregano tea when I lived in Armenia.
  10. ......You roll your eyes at someone discussing a "tummy big" that gave them a day of gastrointestinal issues.
  11. You have been missed   I'm happy to see your typeface again. :) Stick around for a while and get re-acquainted.
  12. Dumb poll. I eat whole foods because they're better for me, not because I'm worried about gluten. The very limited choices cause you to choose answers that aren't related to gluten.
  13. This is awesome you guys! It does help confirm in my mind that sensitivity to gluten is genetically coded (not that I was questioning it). I'll be working on the paper for the next couple months and I'll keep track of the research I find on GS/GI vs celiac disease - for anyone that's interested.
  14. You did it right. If you strongly believe that a family member showed signs of gluten issues, (and they haven't tried the gluten-free diet) mark 'em down.
  15. Additionally, one article I read suggests that gluten sensitivity/gluten intolerance is NOT autoimmune. For those of you with a negative celiac disease test, do you personally feel you have autoimmune issues related to gluten, or do you have other (more than one) autoimmune diseases which might suggest you do have autoimmune issues (or a predisposition to...
  16. I'm writing a paper for class and one of the points is to justify why I think my chosen disease is genetic. As my topic I've chosen gluten sensitivity (considered separately from celiac disease) and although I won't use the results from this poll in my justification (I'm going to tie it to celiac disease), I was curious how many people feel that this whole...
  17. I've just seen a face - The Beatles
  18. OK, the boy went home yesterday, and now it's time for homework. We have to write a grant to study some inherited disease, and I chose gluten intolerance. By Tuesday I have to write a one page summary of the condition. However will I learn enough about the disease by then??
  19. Envelopes?? Those paper thingies from the dark ages??? Had no idea they were still around.....
  20. Bring the most amazingly tasty looking food you can come up with - including some luscious desert. Then sigh while you're chowing down and say "yep..... gluten-free food......"
  21. I'll be putting on my hip waders to take the trash out. Poor chickies are all muddy.
  22. The UW is closed for the third day. I'm not sure such a thing has ever happened. But I still have power, which is not true for several hundred thousand people.
  23. 34F today! All the ice and snow is starting to melt. Now the flooding....
  24. Sorry. Sounds like your mom is just being a brat.
  25. 'tis a lovely layer of ice over the snow. It just now stopped snowing at my house. Waded out to check on the chickens and had to bring them new water, as theirs is frozen.
