ARCHIVED Oops, I Ate A Cliff Bar Today Thinking They Are Gluten Free!
rinne replied to Sarah8793's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I find it confusing too, I almost bought some wheat-free cookies today and then at the last minute remembered to read the label and saw they were not gluten free. I think Ursula makes a good point, be optimistic. -
ARCHIVED Arg! First Definite Glutening Since Dx
rinne replied to BRUMI1968's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I found it to be a bit of a shock, it really hurt when I got glutened after being gluten free for only two and a half weeks. I hope you feel better soon. -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something

O.K. so I am an idiot, fibroid is different than cyst? I've been thinking it is a fibroid cyst. -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
rinne replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
This makes me wonder if I have ovarian cysts too. They did an ultrasound but only from the waist up, that's how they saw the one in the kidney. I've had so much pain for the past three years and some of it connected to car accidents so it has been difficult to sort out what pain goes with what condition. How is that wine tasting? I hope it is all... -

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something

I've been doing the same thing. You women are very funny. I had two doctors appointments today, my GP asked why I was there to see her and I told her it was because her office had called me to come in and talk to her about the letter from the Gastro. So then she read the letter and had nothing to tell me I didn't already know. The next doctor... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Patti, too true and too funny. I think this thread is fabulous. It just strikes me that this is exactly what women do when we get together, we talk about everything and we do that because everything is connected to us. This thread has helped me to understand the frustration I have had on another board that seems to be dominated by men. The discussions... -
ARCHIVED Help -- Feeling Kind Of Abandoned
rinne replied to eleep's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'm so sorry you are having a hard time, what a lot to deal with all at once. I'd be weeping too. I hope the time with your family gives you what you need. Take care, be kind to yourself and remember what Dr.Yan says," we must love life". -
ARCHIVED Lactose Intoleratn And Celiac
rinne replied to Paigie's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hey, it's summer, why not try an iced latte? That way you don't have to heat up the milk at all. -
ARCHIVED Blood Tests Positive For Celiac

Welcome. I don't think regular Rice Krispies are O.K. but I just purchased a box of Nature's Path Organic Crispy Rice and they are gluten free. -
ARCHIVED How Do You Know When You Are Back To "normal"
rinne replied to Maureen73's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Welcome, great question, thanks for asking it. I've only been gluten free for two months now and have been glutened a few times. You said that you have continued to cook regular meals for your family, does that include baking? I think just handling flour can be a problem with the flour particles in the air. I have night sweats after eating dairy... -

Happy Birthday Julie and yes, what a beautiful photo of you. I hope you have a wonderful day and year. -
ARCHIVED Lactose Intoleratn And Celiac
rinne replied to Paigie's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I've been told that the combination of coffee and milk is hard on the liver, I was told this by an Italian/German who swore that only at breakfast would any Italian have milk in their coffee and then it was expresso all day long. He had some reason for why breakfast was o.k. but I don't remember it. For myself, I can only drink coffee that is organic, any... -
ARCHIVED Cure: Homeopathy?
rinne replied to majicbunnies's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I have used a homeopathic remedy for muscle strain with success in the past but don't know now whether it is gluten free. For Celiac Disease I don't think so, it concerns me that others may be more vulnerable to this supposed remedy. -

Floridian, I am so sorry to hear of your loss, it is terrible to lose those we love and even more devastating when they are taken in such a way. You are in my prayers. I have been thinking of you lately. I was in Pensacola once, actually a barrier island just over the bridge and had the most wonderful time. The friend I was visiting was from the... -

ARCHIVED My Psychologist Is Interested In Celiac Connection
rinne replied to Nantzie's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Ravenwoodglass, you are a treasure. I find what you have to say about the focus of treatment very interesting, also very frightening to think that many celiacs would like turn to their doctors for medication if it was available. -
ARCHIVED Please Please Please Help Me
rinne replied to wzcbj's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I've also had the experience of sighing, although until you mentioned it I never even thought of it in connection to gluten. It wasn't as intense as you describe but I also had shortness of breath and the feeling I wasn't getting all the air in or out. What an amazing site. Has there been a thread of just symptoms? I was thinking about it the other... -
If you were willing to relocate you might find a job in a gluten free restaurant or bakery. I'd say the regular route is out but that might be to your advantage. Didn't someone just post an article about gluten free foods growing into a 1.7 billion dollar industry by 2010? I would like to open a little gluten free cafe that would open at noon, have...

ARCHIVED My Psychologist Is Interested In Celiac Connection
rinne replied to Nantzie's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
For the first time the other night I saw a real shift from gluten madness to gluten free sanity. It was a simple thing, my husband left his cell phone in our bedroom and fell asleep in the porch, about 4:00 a.m. it started beeping and woke me up. I got up and started puttering around on the computer and it continued to beep every ten minutes or so until... -
ARCHIVED "body Ecology Diet" - Anyone Done It?
rinne replied to BRUMI1968's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi Chris Hudson and welcome, I'm new too and sorry but I don't know so much. This place is a great resource and no doubt someone will come along and give you more information than I can but in the meantime if you haven't explored past threads I have found that there is a lot of information in them. And Julie, Tee Hee. -
ARCHIVED Optimal Diet For Celiacs
rinne replied to Phila's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Make that me three. Great thread. I'm with the organic meat, vegetables and fruit crowd, also some fish, a little in the way of grains. (I had buckwheat with onions, garlic, potatoes and steamed chard with a aged goat cheese grated on top for lunch today.) I am also eating a little chocolate, nut butters and maple syrup. I am not consuming... -

I bought Karthein's Organic Unpasterized Sauerkraut with carrots and ginger and it is delicious. Here's their site: Open Original Shared Link According to them unpasteurized Sauerkraut is... 1.high in digestive enzymes. Enzyme rich foods help support the pancreas and increase digestive strength. 2.one of the best ways to establish various... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
rinne replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Julie, many wise thoughts. I completely agree that if we keep ending up in the same place we need to ask ourselves, why do I chose to be here again? This is familiar to me though my story is a little different in that after a first serious love, just like you describe, I swore off men who were controlling. The fact that I had grown up in a... -
ARCHIVED What's In Your Olive Oil?
rinne replied to penguin's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I don't understand how they can not label it accurately, for anyone with an allergy to soy this is obviously a health issue if they are mixing soy oil in.
