Skin And Hair Care Products

I just realized after 2 weeks of feeling like total crap, that the shampoo I've been using (Biolage) has wheat germ in it. I usually check, but my mom gave it to me and I started using it w/out thinking. It dawned on me this morning that I never checked the ingredients, and there it was. I'm happy I know now, since I've been stumped as to why I have been getting sicker and sicker.

So many of the good skin care products out there have oat kernal extract, which has got me a time or two. I'm just so tired of getting sick from makeup, face wash, or shampoo.

Anyone know of brands of makeup and skin care that are gluten free, but won't break the bank??? I have found a few brands online that are all gluten free, but yikes, they are pricey. I use Bare Minerals for makeup, but I need to change b/c it seems to be drying my skin out. I just haven't a clue as to what is safe, but won't cost a fortune. Maybe it's an oxymoron, gluten free and affordable, lol.

I know this subject has been talked about to death, but if anyone can just shoot me the brands that they use, I'd appreciate it! Thanks.

I've been using Brocato Splassh shampoo and conditioner. It's a salon brand, but not as expensive as some.

The line is not all gluten-free, but the Splassh is. I get it at Ulta (it's just available in the stores, not online) and just this week there was a coupon for Ulta in the newspaper. :)

I've also had luck in the past with Garnier--a lot of those are gluten-free, and their customer service people have always been very willing to check products for me. I love their Anti Humidity Smoothing Milk.

I use Desert Essence Organics. They make shampoo, conditioner, and lotions that I love. They are wheat and gluten free, no petroluem, and nothing artificial. The lotion I use all over including my face. It costs about $9 a tube but it lasts a long time. A little goes a long way. I recently saw it at my local grocery store for the same price I pay anywhere else. Good Luck

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.

My daughter has celiac disease and has had for a long time. She fell loses strictly gluten-free diet and recently got rid of all cutting boards in any gluten in her house at all. She just had a stool test and it came back showing of gigantic response to gluten in her diet. What could be going on since she doesn't eat any gluten and is very careful about any kind of hidden glue? Help!
