Poop Question

OKay, I have to ask this here cause my wife does not know the answer and I dont want to pay co-apy at my doc to find out a silly question like this. Since going back on gluten (for the test) I have notice that my poop floats now, and color shifts from brown to greenish to blackish. I can not see any odvious connection to what I ate that day since I typical eat about the same thing most of the time. For example I eat big bowl of Maple Brown Sugar Shredded Wheat for breakfast, for launch I have a sandwhich on whole weat (roastbeef, or somthing like that). Dinner is some form of protein, starch and a salad normall. Coffee and water make up almost all of my drinks.

So is that NORMAL or a sign of celiac disease? Or somthing else Ineed worry about? (cause, can never have enough to worry about!)

celiac disease, all the way. It floats because of the malabsorption of fats. One test that is sometimes used to dx celiac disease is fat content in stools. I wouldn't worry about it; when is your test?

You are probably asking the wrong bunch of people what is normal for poop! :D Yeah, if they used to sink and now float and are funny colors on gluten, I would say that is a strong indicator. I am surprised you were willing to go back on gluten. I don't think I could do it. My poop is different everyday after going gluten-free 4 months ago, but I have probably had accidents an not completely healed. Before going gluten-free, I thought everyones' floated!

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
