Hi,

My husband likes hot ceral in the winter. He tried Bob's Red Mill Hot Cereal but got sick. Has any one else found a cf hot ceral that works for them?

Thanks for your time

Nancy :rolleyes:

Hi Nancy, I like good "ol Cream of Rice with pure maple syrup, raisins and chopped walnuts. You could doctor it up with anything you wanted, gluten-free of course!

i liked erewhon's cream of rice with brown sugar, strawberries/blueberries...pretty good!

I stick with plain ol grits... doctored up with cheese or butter and s&p or with fruit jams mixed in

I also like plain ol cream of rice.

I use some combination of the following cereals (different proportions for different flavors):

* Bob's MT Hot Cereal (I know, you're getting away from that one)

* Cream of Buckwheat

* Cream of Rice

* Millet Grits

* Quinoa Flakes

* Amaranth (whole grain)

* Flax See Meal

* Rice Bran

With some combination of the following liquids:

* water

* almond milk

* apple sauce

* soy milk

* pureed pumpkin

And some combination of the following additions:

* vanilla

* cinnamon

* nutmeg/allspice

* honey

* salt

* dried cranberries

* fresh/frozen blueberries

* diced apple

* chopped almonds

* chopped walnuts

And I know there are a lot more variations out there! Keep mixing things up! :-)

lol... between that, and my tea shelf I unpacked last night (we just moved), I can't figure out if it's a sign that I'm a good decision maker, or a sign that I can't stick with one thing. ;-)

I also got sick from a Bob's Red Mill product. I think there stuff can be contaminated. It says on their website that they find very small amounts of gluten in their products.

      Thanks rmj when I first rang up it was we can't do it without , but I talked to a lovely lady and she sorted it all out for me, so it pays to be persistent , I would have had to decline if I hadn't been given the water option too , so yes I'm glad too 😌

      I’m so glad they listened to your concerns!  I hope you get some answers from the MRI.

      Had my MRI today I didn't have to have the manitol with my allergy's , I just had a litre of water , they were great with my concerns , so let's see if anything comes of if will keep posted once I have results 👍

      Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.
