I just wanted to share this with the people who didn't know. I bought a bag of the gluten free pantry's choclate truffle brownies and made them on Monday. They are to die for!!! They taste just like any other brownie, but are very rich. So if you are looking for brownies I definately recommend these!!!!!!!!

hi i will try them as i just tryed the bread mix of theirs and was delighted with the finish product i just enjoyed my breakfast with toast and jam . a change from cerals everyday

My gluten-eating extended family can't get enough of these brownies! They have been hounding me for the information to buy them. At family gatherings, it's the only thing they want me to bring. Pamela's brownie mix is about the same, but there is a variation directions for a bundt cake. Love this mix!

Love, love these brownies!!!!! I've tried Pamela's before, and thought they were just okay. But GFP truffle b's are awesome. And, the mix makes quite a bit, which is a nice change!

They weren't bad, but I found them wayy to sugary. But unlike most people, I don't really have that much of a sweet tooth, so it might be just me. My boyfriend ended up eating them all.

The brownies sound really good, I want to try them as today I made brownies from scratch and they turned out dry :angry: . I love The Gluten Free Pantry Cake and Cookie Mix. You add vanilla to it and it is moist and very good.

I also added walnuts! I love nuts. I froze a bunch and I have been taking them out of the freezer all week and they still taste just as good!!!!!

I bought the brownies from 123 Gluten Free and they were very good also. Very rich and have chocolate chunks in them. Great with a glass of milk. Has anyone else had these and the ones from Gluten Pantry? Just wondering which ones were better for next time.

I just tried the GFpantry bread mix too and loved it. A bit heavy but SSOOOO much better than the frozen stuff I had bought. Glad to know the brownies are good too!

      Rectal pain

      I was suffering from PF just previous to being dx with celiac disease about 25 yr. ago but have not been troubled with it since. Not sure what the connection between the two is of if there is one. But I do know it is a very painful condition that takes your breath away when it strikes.

      I have dealt with proctalgia fugax on and off for a year now. It feels almost paralyzing during an episode and they have started lasting longer and longer, sometimes 20+ minutes. I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease and wonder if the 2 are related. I did request a prescription for topical nitroglycerin for my PF episodes and that has helped tremendously...

      Hey @Butch68, I also have dermatitis herpetiformis but don't suffer from it anymore. I used to drink Guinness too but I drink Cider now when out on social occasions. I assume you are in Ireland or the UK. If it's any good to you ... 9 White Deer based in Cork brew a range of gluten-free products including a gluten-free Stout. I'm not sure if they...

I'm not sure if they are certified though. https://www.9whitedeer.ie/ I haven't come across any certified gluten-free stouts this side of the pond.

      This is a very common question, and the most important thing to know is that no, Guinness is not considered safe for individuals with coeliac disease. While it's fascinating to hear anecdotes from other coeliacs who can drink it without immediate issues, this is a risky exception rather than the rule. The core issue is that Guinness is brewed from barley, which contains gluten, and the standard brewing process does not remove the gluten protein to a level safe for coeliacs (below 20ppm). For someone like you who experiences dermatitis herpetiformis, the reaction is particularly significant. DH is triggered by gluten ingestion, even without immediate gastrointestinal symptoms. So, while you may not feel an instant stomach upset, drinking a gluten-containing beer like Guinness could very well provoke a flare-up of your skin condition days later. It would be a gamble with a potentially uncomfortable and long-lasting consequence. Fortunately, there are excellent, certified gluten-free stouts available now that can provide a safe and satisfying alternative without the risk.
