I eat Old El Paso Corn Tortillas with no problems. I have a really good recipe for soft tacos but these are made with bean flour.

Just get some masa (corn flour, ground with lime (not the fruit, the mineral)). There's almost always a recipe on the bag. Basically, you add just enough water to the masa to get a firm ball, then you flatten with a rolling pin or a tortilla press (or, if you're a frickin' amazing mexican-heritage mom - gotta be a mom or grandma for this one, I swear - you can do it by hand), then cook on a non-stick, dry skillet, over medium heat, until don, flipping once (not browned, but dried - you'll learn what's "done" when you try it).

It's not hard, but it's time consuming! And you really do have to eat them right away for them to taste their best. Otherwise, I'll get Food For Life's sprouted corn tortillas or Trader Joe's tortillas - they don't have the additives that even the gluten-free brands like Mission have.

I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?

Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute. If you are interested in summaries of scientific publications on the topic of oats and celiac disease, we have an entire category dedicated to it which is here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/oats-and-celiac-disease-are-they-gluten-free/
