Hi all,

I’ve got the results of blood test as follows:

Anti gliadin IgA <2

AGA IgG 41

ttg IgA <2

ttg IgG <0.1

Does it mean something?

I have some symptoms of celiac, undiagnosed iron deficiency (anemia) for 10 years, some minor gastrointestinal problems, joint pain, fatigue etc.

I’m pretty sure I do not have celiac because ttg results are clearly negative but I’m not sure about this aga IgG.

Any input appreciated.

Not so fast!  You only need one positive on the panel to move forward with an endoscopy to obtain intestinal biopsies.  I am the perfect example.  I only had a positive on the DGP IgA and yet I ended up having moderate to severe intestinal damage.  My only symptom was anemia which had been blamed on a genetic anemia (you can have more than one type of anemia) and just being a women (menstruation).  But is was in fact all due to celiac Disease.  Even in follow up testing after a gluten exposure, my TTG or EMA have never been elevated.  Why?  I can not find much on the topic and my two GIs can not either.

The TTG is good, but it does not catch all celiacs.  That is why they run complete panels.   You need to see a GI.

The good news is that celiac disease is treatable and requires no drugs.  If you going to get something this is a good disease to get.

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
