Could I still have celiac disease?

I recently went to the Gastroenterologist who told me something about possibly having celiac disease something about my upper GI I had in 2016 of there being a small trace of something that could indicate celiac disease. Anyway, he sent me for blood work and everything came back normal, except my glucose was slightly elevated at 103 other than that CMP and CBC was normal and my lipase serum was 54 u/l so could I still have Celiac Disease?

If you still eat gluten regularly it would make sense to get a follow up celiac disease blood panel. Definitely talk to your doctor in more detail about you biopsy results, but with the little info you gave us here there’s no way to tell for sure.

Thanks for your reply ? I guess I should be more specific lol I'm all over the place sometimes. So the upper gi was performed in 2016. The blood work u just picked up today. I have been having horrible tummy issues like constipation, heartburn "gerd" if u will. And just this week my belly has been swollen. I have horrible gas like not burping. But belching. I've always ate bread chips cereal never a problem. But if this could be celiac I dont want it. I will give up all that to not have all this terrible gas and heartburn. Anyways, could Celiac be diagnosed still if my Lipase blood work came out normally.

Lipase is not a test for Celiac.  Did they do actual Celiac blood tests?  If you have been eating gluten consistently since 2016, you should get the Celiac blood tests.  CBC, etc are not for diagnosing Celiac

You need the full Celiac blood panel, this disease can develop any time.  The upper GI scope (Endoscope) is normally done after with biopsies to check for damage. Some people do not show on the blood test but will still have the damage. I will give you some info post on the blood test screening and the scope diagnosis. But you need to really see about eating gluten every day and finishing testing properly.

PS I had the constipation issue before diagnosis, Natural Vitality Calm will help, the issue is from magnesium deficiency. Start with 1/4tsp or 2 grams and up the dose 2g each day til your get loose stools. Then back down 2g. You have to dose to tolerance with this stuff.

I was diagnosed at 6 after having severe stomach pain after eating white bread or any kind of gluten my sister had one done aswell I was scared for the biopsy but thats bc the gas mask thing but now that I am a 14yr old female struggling with severe chronic pain making my body ache for no reason making it hard to sleep and do the things I love like playing spot which I love to do but I can sometimes not even be able to walk bc my knees hurt so bad I can or my hips or back the only think I wish for is to be a normal kid which I can't even be and I get accused of faking pain bc there is no physical things to notice especially at school when one day it will be so sore im limping the next im walking perfectly fine idk if its all from celiac disease but im the only one in my family that has this problem

I noticed eating gluten-free or CGF foods have higher sugar and sodium some. No added sugar protein bars I found better with plant fiber. I wanted to know what are you go to besides whole fruits/veggies that you find are healthy for you where you can feel eating normal without hurting yourself or health. I was looking into subscription based like Thrift to see if there is something that is healthier CGF that can make me feel normal. Thanks

Thankyou because I met up with K B with well known bay area hospital once and she said she knows I don't like to take meds, I said thats incorrect, I have issues.Thats the one that said I was deemed " unruly " when she admitted I was celiac when I asked why am I going through this.

Cristiana, that sounds like a great approach and I will be looking forward to the results. I am in the same boat as you. I don't experience overt symptoms with minor, cross contamination level exposures so I sometimes will indulge in those "processed on equipment that also processes wheat . . ." or items that don't specifically claim to be gluten free but do not list gluten containing grains in their ingredient list. But I always wonder if I am still experiencing sub acute inflammatory reactions. I haven't had any celiac antibody blood work done since my diagnosis almost 25 years ago so I don't really have any data to go by.
