Restaurants In Massachusetts?

I'm new at this and don't want to make a big fuss when I go out. I've also been a vegetarian my whole life which is baffling enough to the people I go out with, always wondering can you go here? can you eat anything? yes, i can always find something without meat. besides most places now have amazing different salads, and i just ask for them without the chicken or whatever comes on it, though i'm starting to reconsider that due to all these new restrictions. ..

so does anybody here know of anywhere in Massachusetts that has stuff on the menu that they like and can have? i've read posts on here about some various chains, most of which I've never heard of and when I go out I don't usually go to big chains in general either. I live south of Boston, so if anyone has any suggestions they've tried...

I go to Chilis, Legal Seafoods, and Outback. I want to try PF Changs in Boston.

We also have a Bear Rock Cafe now..the food looks so good. I emailed them to see if there are any of their menu items that are gluten free. Waiting on a response.

Ditto on what Francelajoie said. If I eat out, I go to PF changs, outback, or legal seafoods. I do not eat out much, only because I haven't had good experiences. Are you new to celiac?

Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.
