I was recently told that I have celiac. I am excepting it, but requiring further testing. I will get blood work results back in 1 week. My question is what are all the different symptoms people are having. I have all the classic symptoms but there are more and I have not yet read anyone elses testimony that relates. I need help figuring it out. Thanks for the GREAT website.

There are many (200) symptoms of Celiac. Everyone's symptoms are different--that's one of the many reasons it is misdiagnosed so frequently. My symptoms included: Nausea, anemia, lightheadedness, D, depression, anxiety, numbness and tingling in face, left arm and feet, frequent burning sensations in face and feet, palpitations, fatigue and reflux. Most things have gotten better on the gluten-free diet. After 9 months, I still have the reflux, facial numbness and fatigue. When having a gluten reaction, more of the original symptoms return. Well, my symptoms weren't the exact same thing every time. But generally, almost continual upset stomach, gas which seemed trapped inside a lot of the time, bloated belly, sometimes a burning pain down the esophagus into my stomach (when I would eat wheat things!!), occasional sharp pain in the stomach which would last for hours and hurt so bad I couldn't do anything, tingling of feet and hands, occasional red rashes, and the one things which was really ongoing was asthma....and that went away fairly quickly when the gluten and dairy was gone from my diet. Mostly D, sometimes C (but never seemed "normal"). Also, after eating gluten a couple of hours later I'd have horrible muscle and joint aches, especially my neck and back. I NEVER connected this to gluten and/or dairy until I came to this site!

Get the book "Dangerous Grains"....it includes 200+ connected symtoms in the back. Too many to list here! It almost comes down to "anything strange you can't explain any other way" could possibly be connected to this. Everyone is different!

Before I went gluten-free I had these symptoms:

Bone pain in my knees, hips, and ankles

More than average hair loss

explosive gas

severe bloating (I looked pregnant most of the time)

diarrhea (almost 95% of the time, sometime quite severe)

nausea

extreme fatigue

lack of energy

anxiety

irritability

brain fog

weight loss (I was underweight)

weakness

abdominal pain

Now if I have gluten I will get these symptoms (Some of them may be due to my wheat allergy):

severe brain fog

A feeling of being partially sedated

dizziness (sometimes the room will feel like it's spinning)

extreme fatigue (all I want to do is sleep)

anxiety

nervousness

heart pain

heart palpitations

irritability

depression

mild to severe stomach pain (right where the stomach would be)

hives

rash

nausea

diarrhea/constipation

bloating (usually mild)

gas (usually mild)

      So far 3 months in - worsening symptoms. I have had the worst constipation in my life and I am primarily eating naturally gluten-free foods like potatoes, eggs, salad with homemade dressing, corn tortillas, etc. I hate gluten-free bread and pasta so I don't eat it. Occasionally I eat gluten-free almond flour crackers. As stated in the post, I don't have any vitamin deficiency. I was already tested.

      Talk to your  Talk to your provider about testing for vitamin and mineral deficiency.  celiac disease causes malabsorption and eventually malnutrition.  Especially vitamin D. Having the gallbladder removed seems to be a common step on the way to a Celiac Disease Diagnosis,  Gallbladder is a sympton of deficient Choline. Eggs and red meat are the primary source..Choline makes up a majority of the bile salts.  The bile gets thick, doesn't get enough into intestine to digest fats well.  Can eventually back up into gallbladder, cause gallstones.  Without bile, bowel movements can become hard. Try to avoid all processed foods while you are healing, The gluten-free foods are not fortified with vitamins and use various ingredients to mimic fat that bothers many Celiacs.  Choose vegatables with low omega 6.  Optimum omega 6 to omega 3 ratio is less than 3:1.  Wheat flour is 22:1.  Grass fed milk is 1:1.   Commercial Dairies milk is 5:1.  They feed wheat, rye and barley Gluten as part of the food mix.

      Your DGP-G is also high. The thing to do now would be to trial the gluten-free diet for a few months to see if there is improvement in symptoms.

      Welcome to the forum, @Roses8721! How long were you off gluten before getting the celiac blood testing done? The testing is not valid after having been gluten free for a significant period of time. Many of your symptoms align with celiac disease.
