Hi Trents

By the cells attacking foreign invaders they are trying to keep the blood clean, it’s how you look at it really. I absolutely can relate to this article with what happened to me and I believe  too much acid in our bodies through diet has become/is becoming  a MAJOR problem with many of our health issues today. Less acids more Alkaline = healthier body, less disease.

Ps. I never had to take any alkalising supplements I got well by avoiding food/ drinks with high acids in or things that made me acidic when ingested, which then increased my histamine levels. In many, many cases of some illnesses  the right dietry advice is all that is needed to get our bodies back to good health, not medication which can add in some cases more health problems, in my case especially  it was making me more acidic because of the Lactose. Some people will never change their diet so that is where medication will help them along the way.

In the context to the article you quote, the "cleaning" effect the author ascribes to white blood cells is referring to removing acids. Acids are not foreign invaders. Foreign invaders would be life forms like viruses and bacteria - things that have proteins.

I had this happen to me.  The neurological symptoms seemed to be brought on by inflammation caused by the virus or it’s vaccine.  I stocked up on turmeric and everything else that naturally lowers inflammation and my brain fog naturally cleared.  I do anything and everything natural to keep my inflammation down so I can use my brain.

How do you explain the French Paradox, where people in France have been shown to live longer than those in many other countries western countries, yet they drink large quantities of red wine per capita. Additionally the Mediterranean diet includes lots of red wine and lots of fermented vinegars, particularly balsamic vinegar. In China, Taiwan and other parts of Asia it is very popular to drink fermented vinegars, literally by the shot, to aid in digestion and help with other health issues.

Hello Scott

I think one of the main reasons acids can become a problem in the body is overindulging in the wrong foods/drinks regularly, eating a lot of foods with preservatives in can also add to levels, drinking  acidic drinks, being overweight can be the first sign.

Maybe the person is  not overweight but is on Medication that is making them acidic.

Maybe a milk intolerance is making them acidic, is it a Histamine liberater to them definitely in my case.

Maybe a person is  born acidic, from what their mother has ingested and it has passed to them from the placenta.

Maybe a person is drinking too much alcohol tipping their levels too high.

I believe the French have a different attitude towards food/ drink they don’t have a bad diet that involves a lot of junk like the Western diet, so they can have their Vinegars and Wine without their bodies getting a problem, maybe if they do start to have health issues they are a getting a build up of acid somewhere, I think in general the French have a good diet with a lot of the right foods. China, Taiwan and Asia will not follow a Western diet, so they are probably not getting a build up, so maybe they can get away with their acids in their diet. I think it just comes down to overload and if your body copes well with acidic things then  fine, I know I react to acids so I try and avoid them where I can. I know with me it sets off my Histamine reactions.

Warning: brief description of stool.

Hello. I’ve been diagnosed for about ten years and just in July I started being unable to tolerate pretty much anything. I can’t eat even certified gluten free schar’s stuff. I’m down to just fish (mostly canned sardines), sweet potatoes, olive oil, beef, and spinach. I am constantly dizzy and brain-foggy anyway. My gastrointestinal symptoms come and go at a whim. It doesn’t seem to have anything to do with what I eat because I eat the same thing all the time. I tried probiotics, a kind that my very sensitive celiac friend said didn’t make him sick, and weirdly they seemed to lessen my neurological symptoms but made my gastrointestinal ones worse. (Stool a good brown color and does not float, but after probiotics is slightly looser and takes on a petroleum-like smell.) I feel the probiotics are probably triggering me somehow also. I tried sauerkraut made in a gluten-free facility to get probiotics from my diet instead of supplements, and those seemed to lessen my gastro symptoms but I was having balance issues and couldn’t think again. I’ve been trying to go low-FODMAP and I’m not sure it’s helping.

Any advice you can give would be appreciated. This is ruining my life.

Did you have Covid? Ever since I had Covid (which was July 2020) I have flared up nearly every day. I have been gluten free for 10 years and cook most of my meals from scratch. I have decided I must have developed a new food intolerance, so I have been trying various elimination diets to no avail. My next step is to try a food intolerance test. I am so tired of hurting and looking 6 months pregnant every day.

Try getting more Thiamine (Vitamin B1) in your diet or supplement with Thiamine.

Thiamine is needed to process carbohydrates, protein and fat into energy the body can use.  In Thiamine Insufficiency, unprocessed carbohydrates feed intestinal bacteria causing bloating.  Thiamine helps keep the bacteria in check and calms inflammation.

Thiamine is needed to help fight viruses like Covid.  Thiamine is being given in hospital ICU's to help patients fight Covid.  Without enough thiamine, not enough oxygen gets to the organs.  Thiamine supplementation after Covid infection helps alleviate symptoms in "long haulers".

Discuss supplementation with thiamine and the other interdependent B vitamins with your doctor or nutritionist.

@Scott Adams Thank you so much for this thoughtful and encouraging reply 💛 It really helps me feel less alone navigating all of this! I’ve definitely been strict gluten-free, but I’ll admit — in the beginning, I honestly knew nothing about cross-contamination 😅 so it’s very possible my gut is still healing from that. I feel very abnormal because I am not a typical celiac or a typical Crohn's, so it makes me feel very stuck.

Hi still the same unfortunately, they had to cancel my colonoscopy due to my trapped nerve , I'm awaiting some kind of scan , it was the nurses who  told me to refuse and asked a docter , and I was told to cancel and go back to my consultant , I think because my sciatic nerve is compressed between my herniated discs , the prep was enough I could handle , but the colonoscopy itself , they advised me to seek something different ,due to the position I had to be in and the movements , so I will update Wen I know more , thankyou for asking appreciated 🤗

It sounds like you're navigating a complex situation with your celiac disease, and it’s understandable to feel confused by the GI world! While celiac disease typically affects the duodenum and proximal small intestine, it’s possible for inflammation to extend to the ileum, especially in cases of more severe or longstanding damage. Since your tTG-IgA remains elevated despite a strict gluten-free diet, this could indicate ongoing healing or subtle gluten exposure. The ileal inflammation might still be related to celiac, though it’s good your doctor is ruling out other conditions like Crohn’s, given the nonspecific biopsy findings. Some people with celiac do report ileal involvement, particularly if...
