My husband and I will be in London in a few weeks and wondererd if any people with Celiac in the city have an interest to meet for either coffee or a gluten free meal. We will be staying in South Kensington area but hanging out a lot in the West End district. Please pm me for details on dates and such if there are any takers. I heard Starbuck's in London even has gluten-free pastries. What I treat that will be.

My family and I are taking a trip to London at the end of April and also staying in Kensington. I have heard that the restaurants in central London are accomadating for Celiacs and there are some with gluten-free options. After living in France for the past six months I am looking forward to going to a restaurant where the hostess will better understand my dietary needs.

I have not been yet, but I understand you can call ahead for gluten-free tea at the Savoy (it is apparently expensive, as I would expect, but very, very good, and fun). I will be in London and Paris later this summer. I have travelled to both previously and done fine with gluten-free, even in pubs. There are wonderful Thai and Indian restaurants in London and those were my favorites. Enjoy your trip.

Kim.

It can take longer than 6 months for antibodies to drop to the normal range,  My DGP IgA took a few years as I got stricter and stricter about being gluten free  But having symptoms again could also mean you’re getting some gluten in your diet.

Hi, I just had my 6 month check after being diagnosed Celiac 6 months ago.  All of my panel numbers were normal except: Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA (It is 31 with high being over 30)  I have also been having symptoms again. Am I not actually being as careful as I think I am or does it take longer than 6 months for this particular test to come back down?  I can't get ahold of my doctor this week as she is out.     Thank you!

That is very strange, because it looks to me like two very different test results, but for the same test! It's definitely time to contact your doctor for clarity on this.

Same day which is strange to me.

Scott, thank you SO MUCH for this!! She has been through so much in the last three years as we've tried to track down answers. This language will definitely help me help her to reframe.
