Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Recommended Posts

My post got sent early.

Anyways...I bake my chicken. I also eat the same turkey you eat from WF...(Diestels) and ground beef. I cook those in a pan....I dont add anything to the meat...I just cook it plain. If you react to the stuff you cook in your pans...I'm guessing it might be the metals or toxins from the pans you're reacting to?? What kind of pans are they?

Well....I'm thinking its not so bad that you're having alot of bm's today. I think you probably needed it. Yeah....prunes are moldy.

I've juiced stuff before but it was mainly greens...no fruits. This was a couple years back when I was on the candida diet. Carrots or fruit werent allowed on the diet.

Right now I'm staying away from those foods...carrots always cause me problems and I cant eat fruits because of the candida/mold situation. Sometimes I'll eat an apple...thats about it for fruits.

I've never tried apple pectin....it "sounds" like something I'd probably have trouble with but I've never actually tried it so cant say for sure. I got tested for all of the binders....including apple pectin....and Dr. Amy said the only thing I responded well to was the charcoal...none of the other binders were gonna work for me.

Doesnt mean they wont work for you though...everyone is different. You have to learn what things your body likes and what things it doesnt like. Its trial and error...I used a journal...I cant stress how important it is to keep a journal. It'll help you figure things out. It helped me alot...I wrote down *everything*.

I had my first chelation today and will be going once a week. It has made me feel really bad right now and I am only doing 1/3 of the normal dose becasue he know i am so sensitive. I don't feel like i can wirte that much right now but i just wanted to tell everyone the news

Miamia

Mia...I'm glad you're getting answers. :)

I'm not surprised about the metals at all. I figured you'd have a problem similar to mine....and alot of candida.

I'm thinking the chelation might be pretty rough on you.....hopefully it isnt but while they're chelating the metals the candida and lyme will probably really flare up. If you're having any problems excreting the metals....they could end up getting redistributed and making you sicker.

Its really important to pay attention to how you're feeling. If you're feeling really bad and having some severe symptoms from the chelation...it would most likely be that you're pulling out more metals than your body can handle. This can cause alot of harm as the metals get redistributed.

My Dr. said you should NOT feel bad during chelation...you should not get worse....if you do there is a problem with the dose....or with your body just not being ready to get rid of the metals.

I'm glad you're getting answers and treatment but be careful with the chelation...dont push your body with more than it can handle. If you feel worse...communicate this with your Dr.

I want you my dear citizens to weigh in- is this even reasonable to consider? What do YOU think I should do? I would love to go but I don't know if my immune system is up for this.

Bev.....it sounds like a great opportunity. I agree with the others in that you need to be honest with yourself and if you dont think you can handle it....dont push yourself.

Its really early days for you on the treatment....alot of ups and downs. Do you think you're ready for 3 weeks in another country?

I know you've had some really good days...but also some really bad ones as well. If you were having bad days could you deal with it ok being in another country? Its alot to consider.

I know you'll get it figured out and I'm glad you asked for the Dr.'s input on this. ;)

I have never heard "The Tide is High".

:o

I have a Blondie remix C.D.....LOVE IT!! :D

Extended dance versions of Tide is High, Heart of Glass, Rapture...and a few others. Heart of Glass is probably my fav. :)

Dear Rachel,

Flouride is deadly to the Thyroid. You have Graves. No wonder you reacted so badly to it!

Its not affecting my thyroid....at least not anymore....I dont have a functioning thyroid anymore. It got nuked in 2003. :(

I actually get reactions from it...the same kind of reactions I get from other toxins or chemicals. My face and mouth will start burning and tingling right away if I use toothpaste w/ flouride. The muscles in my face will get tight and well...fun stuff like that.

Hey, I was thinking about Lisa's situation. The glutamates are one possibility. Also, what about mold in the zucchini?

It is squash. Didn't tom talk about how cucumbers need peeled because of that? It is in that food family! Maybe she needs to peel the squash and zucchini. What do you think?

I peel everything. I dont think theres any fruits or veggies that I dont peel...except maybe lettuce and peas....oh and I dont peel my asparagus either. :)

I dont eat zucchini anymore...but when I did...I peeled it.

I'm so far behind, don't think I can catch up...kind of going through some weird trippy thing today.

Lisa - I'm just so concerned for you and don't know what to do, but please just hang in there.

Susie - I'm so sorry to hear about the MRI results! I agree with what everyone has said before me...we're all here for you...please feel like you can be yourself here!

Andrea, this is my biggest issue - right here. Along with my kidney condition comes extreme LDL numbers. My cholesterol has been as high as 575 total. It's very typical. Oxidation and Free Radical issues go hand in hand with what I have. I'd like it to just go away. I feel like a ticking timebomb.

I suspect that a lot of my problems started when I was a little kid. I was hospitalized in a Isolation unit for 2 weeks when I was 2 years old with a strange strain of the Herpes Virus.

Wow! :(

It would be August 5-18th. All travel expenses paid (flight and hotel) and a stipend for food. Apparently they treat you very well. At the end of the trip we have the opprtunity to travel to Jeju island and go to a lotus festival and visit Tokyo and Kyoto on the way home. So more likely a 3 week trip.

There is NO doubt that this is an incredible opportunity but the question is, between the lengthy travel and teaching, am I asking too much of my body? I put in a call to my Lyme doc and will call my primary but you guys know me better than them (much more details- probably too many).

I want you my dear citizens to weigh in- is this even reasonable to consider? What do YOU think I should do? I would love to go but I don't know if my immune system is up for this.

Thank you all in advance- I consider you my official council (ha and counsel!)

Well, I know what I would do, but not sure it's the right thing. :P I went on my vacation in December on that Panama Canal cruise and then to Disneyworld. I was feeling bad before we left and I told my friend that I would need to rest a lot...somehow I didn't get to rest enough though. I think that was one reason why I got so sick when I got back...had to take a whole week off of work after that. I had just had half my amalgams out and was already feeling bad anyway. I just got worn out. So...I'm glad I went, and would probably do it again personally (especially if it were someplace I hadn't been before), but would most certainly get sicker afterwards.

My friend tried to understand, but she's used to hyper Donna, so the worn down sluggish Donna was new to her and she didn't know what to do. So, if you aren't able to take a break when you need it, well, that might not be the best thing right now.

I think this is what my doctor was trying to tell me last week when he said he didn't want me to take on any extra work. I think he's afraid that I can't recover from any kind of stress to my body, and I think he may be right. So be honest with yourself like others have said, and decide if the risks outweigh the benefits or vice versa.

Sorry, that was sort of disjointed and rambling wasn't it...having an off day today. :P

ok i have not posted that much becasue for some reason i cannot get on to this site from my house right now- very frustrating. but i have some kind of big news. I got test results back and on one stool test- one is still pending- they found yes lots of candida and an AMOEBA!!! I named him Gus.

The bigger one though is i got my metal toxicity test- and this is a huge problem for me it turns out. elevated were- CAdmium, Lead, mercury, nickel and tin. Lead went into very elevated along with aluminum.

I had my first chelation today and will be going once a week. It has made me feel really bad right now and I am only doing 1/3 of the normal dose becasue he know i am so sensitive. I don't feel like i can wirte that much right now but i just wanted to tell everyone the news

Miamia

OMGosh, an amoeba named GUS!!! Wow, chelation! Wow! I'm so sorry you are feeling bad. How does one get an amoeba?!

I can't stop going poop. It's not diarrhea just normal don't float poops. THey just won't stop coming out all day today and yesterday. I must have been really backed up.

Well, I'm glad you are getting cleaned out! Hopefully that will help you feel better!

I know so many ? but need to be sure sometimes. I think some of my new porcelain filling are coming out. Little pieces. I only eat soft mushy food but I hear crunch sometimes. What could that be?

Yeah I have been peeling my zucchini and squash for everynow. I can't digest the skins so thats why I do this. I am tired today. I hope everyone else is doing okay though.

Mm 70's music , got to love it, especially fleetwood mac, doobie brothers, donna summers, little river band, simon and garfunkel, jefferson airplane all of them.

I love the 80's too. New ORder, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, All of them as well. Went to the Curiosa fesitival in S.F. Saw The Cure. It was great.

Had margheritas. It was 8 hour festival full of fun. Those days are only a memory.sigh.

Oh by the way I use stainless steel pans for cooking.

THey have copper on the bottom though. What type of soaps do you girls and boys use to wash with, dishes, hands, body. I use palmolive for everything. Even showers

Yeah...I think its only when its in water that it creates alot of free glutamates. Thats how they make gelatin....from boiling animal bones. Gelatin has alot of MSG in it.

If you still react to the chicken after baking it...I would guess its the chicken. You eat Foster Farms right?

I always got sick from chicken until I just recently switched brands....now I have no problems with chicken. :)

....and then my weeping began. There is severe damage all over my spine - discs, bulging/herniating/non-existent, nerve damage, pinched nerves, and all kinds of things I couldn't understand. Am trying to get a copy of the letter from radiologist and doctor is trying to figure out what specialist to send me to, because as of yesterday, he had no idea....spinal surgeon and pain management doc were two ideas. He was quite shocked at the state of my bones and I did have to remind him and give small science lecture on Celiac disease.....of course. <_<

Hi Susie, If you are reading this, I'm sorry the MRI report was a bummer. Yes, get the actual report from the radiologist. My husband did this with his, and it's really important. I think you can also get your MRIs on C D, but not sure.

Have you ever tried rolfing? It really helped my back. Rolfing is a type of body work that works on the myofacia of the muscles, named after the woman who invented it, Ida Rolf. She did not name it rolfing, but over the years, that is how it got it's name. She called it Structural Integration. My rolfer had been in 3 car accidents and had herniated discs in her neck. She did a lot of rolfing to treat herself.

My husband ultimately needed surgery for his herniated disc. He still has to take pain meds daily, but he is going through the rolfing series right now. I noticed a difference in his body immediately after the first session. For me, I didn't start noticing differences until after about the 7th or 8th session. There are 10 sessions in a series. The important thing about rolfing is that is helps decompress your spine so that your discs have more room, rather than being squished by your muscle tension.

Please feel free to come back and discuss your back issues. By the way, is that you rock climbing in your avatar? My husband and I both rock climb, and it's a great way to keep your back in shape!

I got test results back and on one stool test- one is still pending- they found yes lots of candida and an AMOEBA!!! I named him Gus.

I'm sure there is also a son of Gus in there too! I had amoebas MANY times over the two years I lived in West Africa. I think I stopped counting after the 6th time. I took A LOT of Flagyl. I hate amoebas!

What are you doing for your chelation? I assume that you don't have any mercury fillings? Hope you feel better soon!

What type of soaps do you girls and boys use to wash with, dishes, hands, body. I use palmolive for everything. Even showers

liza

Hi Lisa, You are sounding much better today! If it were me, I wouldn't shower in Palmolive. I don't care what Madge says in the commercials. Oh, I could be dating myself there  ?! I buy the soaps at the health food store that are gentle on the skin.

AAM: This is just the Cliff notes version of my ART/Asyra session tonight. I did do the Asyra. It takes about 1.5 minutes to do the whole thing. Most of it is the interpretation afterwards, which I don't have to be there for. Anyhoo, a whole list of things showed up for me that need to be treated. I'll do my first LED treatment tomorrow, then probably take a break for a month. I might have 4 treatments total. I don't have my treatment plan yet. I've already spent a lot on the ART in the last week, so I need to prioritize!

Tomorrow, I will do Fungal toxins and some other stuff that showed up for auto immunity on various organs. My sulfur pathways were not a problem. Other stuff showed up, like Indoles, Polio virus, different chemical groups, and Aluminum. Another thing showed up called "Recreational Drugs". She explained to me that if I don't do recreational drugs, which I don't, it can be other addicting things like wheat. I don't eat wheat, but she said that this is bioenergetic medicine. It doesn't have to be something I'm eating or have right now, but something that might be residual to what I ate in the past or had in the past.

Then, she did ART on microbes and parasites. None showed up, not even Lyme!! She said that was pretty unusual. I am very happy about that :D. She didn't bother to do yeast, since fungus already showed up on Asyra.

Claire, thanks for the information about Rolfing. It has always been something of interest to me but I have never pursued it.

I'm not fully recovered from last night.

I was driven to a frozen cod compress and then I cooked it up for breakfast.

Jin, your tapping is amazing. Can you tell us how you do it?

Rachel, I remember your fan :( I'm staying away from the air conditioner today.

That's it, my brain is running on dingo power.

Yay on no lyme! Glad your sulfur pathways aren't blocked either.

I think Talitha would have 5 treatments, but we are hoping to combine foods into one......if I can find enough things she will eat.

How do they check if your pathways are blocked?

Hey Rachel, the dentist refered me to a doctor in Los Altos. His name is DR.S. I think it's the same one you see.

How is he? Would it be worth it to go and see him or not? I don't want to spent any unnessesary money too not but I really need a knowlegable doctor. I think it's cool they don't allow fragrances in the office.

They appointment is on the 20th of this month or something. He is booked up.

Any suggestions on soap guys,.

Yeah I think the supplements, the fiber and beta-tcp molded me. I feel mad, depressed and foggy headed. Great. <_<

I think the gelatin thing is right. Remember charcoal, gelatin, chicken broth, gelatin, and my new supplement that I had pain, gelatin.

I have some really fascinating scientificness to share.

I'm in the process of listening to an interview with Dr. Klinghardt...its over an hour and a half long. I'm only into the first 20 minutes of it....the more I listen...the more I just think he such a brilliant man. :)

Anyways...I took notes and here is what I've listened to so far.

Its nothing really *new* in terms of what I've posted previously and what I'm told by my Dr.'s...but its fascinating to hear Dr. K talk about his discoveries and theories.

Ok...

He starts out by talking about how he knew nothing about Lyme until in 1991 a dentist he was working with started talking to him about Lyme Disease. Prior to that he was all into the metals and treatment of heavy metal detox.

He started having breakthroughs when using antibiotic treatments in patients with chronic pain syndromes. He said it was around that time that they started noticing a relationship between a patients load of mercury and candida infections.

He said in the late 80's, early 90's everyone was talking about candida....then in the late 90's it was mercury poisoning...and now we have Lyme.

They found a direct relationship between mercury and candida. The patients mobilizing mercury all had high candida titers.

They studied the bioabsorptive capability of microorganisms . How much mercury can microorganisms absorb? They found that in nature....candida/molds had the highest ability to bind toxic metals.

Dr. K. then looked for a biological reason for candida overgrowth in patients with heavy metal toxicity.

He determined that the more heavy metal toxic you are...the less you are able to function physiologically because of the multiple effects of mercury on all enzyme systems in the body.

No enzyme has ever been found that has not been damaged or blocked by mercury.

He considers candida to be a "protective" infection. When you bring mold into the environment the body cells exchange mercury into the molds...at a cost. We then are dealing with molds and their by-products (mycotoxins). The molds and mycotoxins are less toxic than mercury. Mold/mycotoxins kill slowly while mercury kills very quickly.

People were stirred by Dr. K's new theory that the immune system holds onto the molds in order to protect the host from mercury. One mold researcher spent alot of time trying to prove Dr. K. wrong. Two years later he published a paper stating that the theory seemed to be correct...and that this is indeed what they found in their studies....and that Dr. K. was right.

Molds, to a large degree are a last biological attempt to save the organism from the metals.

Now they had some solutions when treating chronically ill patients.

If there is a chronic candida situation...look for mercury. If you find mercury....look for the molds....find out what is going on with the molds/fungus.

So what happens if Dr.'s diagnose candida in a chronically ill patient and are treating the patient for *only* candida??

Dr. K. says the "so-called" die-off is actually a storm of released mercury overwhelming the system. He said this reaction is very misunderstood....its not a release of toxins from dying yeast...it is mercury being released into the system.

He came to this conclusion because when people were in the middle of "die-off" reactions....he gave them DMPS or other treatments designed to rid the body of metals. Whenever he did this the "die-off" would immediately stop.

DMPS does not treat mycotoxins or dead candida body parts...it treats metals. He found this to be substantial proof of his theory.

He says its VERY difficult to diagnose heavy metal toxicity. Its much easier to diagnose microbes...through PCR, Western Blots, etc. There are methods of testing to identify the microbes...but its not so easy to identify heavy metals.

He says negative hair analysis or urine analysis do NOT rule out intracellular heavy metal toxicity. All tests can remain negative in an individual who is heavy metal toxic.

He said in the study of autoimmune disease one of the main researchers in Sweden found conclusive evidence that heavy metal toxicity is at the *root* of autoimmune disease. Infections are secondary.

He said *everyone* is looking at the infections....but they are secondary.

Even with Autism he says that they find measles in the gut...its almost always there in a large sub-group of Autistic children. He says the infection is secondary to the primary contamination of mercury in the gut from vaccinations. That comes first....then there is a disturbance of microsystems in the gut which leads to the measles virus NOT being killed by the immune system....instead it grows within the host. (All of this is basically the same stuff Anna told me as well)

He said this was a clinical "cornerstone" for him.

In most chronic illness there is infection...superficially.....underneath the infection there is heavy metal toxicity.

He says the body only holds onto toxins when there is significant genetic problems.....the genes controlling the formation of enzymes for detoxification are defective. A defect in enzymes critical for detoxification can be found in approx. 15% of the population...this group has significant problems with detoxification.

Also, he says that people with unresolved psychological issues can block a larger portion of the system creating an inability to excrete toxins.

The sequence goes....genetic defects, psychological issues and/or physical trauma creates a situation that allows toxic metals and other toxins to be trapped in the system. In the areas where toxins are trapped in the body the inner environment changes....the pH changes, the mineral content changes, enzyme activity changes, collagen changes, permeability changes, etc...and THEN the microbes set up housekeeping in those areas.

Superficially, in chronic illness you find infections....if you scratch and look a little deeper you find toxins. Scratch even deeper and you find psychology.

He discovered the role psychology plays in 1984. At that time he was heavily into treating mercury toxicity with the chemical treatments....he was heavy into getting the mercury load reduced in the body.

He had a secretary who had her amalgams removed. The amalgams were taken out the wrong way...no safety precautions were used. Following the removals her brain was very dysfunctional.....her memory very poor.

Dr. K. tried to treat her using DMPS, DMSA, Vit C, etc....nothing worked. She was not excreting metals in any of the testing that was done....none of the urine tests or hair analysis showed significant amounts of mercury. Nothing was coming out.

While continuing to treat her and while doing muscle testing he uncovered a psychological issue. He went on to treat that particular issue...an early childhood memory that he was able to bring to the surface. The memories came back to her....she cried and there was a big release.

The next day she could not think at all...it was as if she had been totally poisoned. Dr. K. then gave her a DMPS shot and then tested her urine. She had the highest level of mercury that had ever been measured in urine at that time.....over 3,000 micrograms of mercury were found in her urine.

Two weeks earlier none of the treatments would release the metals.

He says unresolved psychological issues trap toxins and metals inside the body and they cannot be mobilized even w/ the best agents available.

So then he goes into how he diagnoses and treats the psychological issues so that the metals can then be detoxed. Its all very fascinating to listen to.

Theres over an hour left of this interview which I have not yet listened to. Someone suggested I listen to hear about Dr. K's views on N.A.C....and why he doesnt like to use it. I havent yet gotten to that part but I will continue to post the interesting stuff as I listen to the rest.

If anyone wants to listen to this interview its on his site....recorded July 12th, 2006.

How do they check if your pathways are blocked?

Hey Rachel, the dentist refered me to a doctor in Los Altos. His name is DR.S. I think it's the same one you see.

They can test pathway function with energetic testing....stuff like BioSET.....but only a few BioSET practitioners have the training for this...I think there are only like 3 in the country doing work on the pathways. One of them is my practioner who is here in Milpitas.

The Asyra machine can also detect problems. I dont know if there are practitioners in my area who have this expensive machine. Dr. Amy just recently got it and was very excited about it....she said it is very accurate and can pick up alot of things missed in other testing...even ART. She took a saliva sample from me to take back to WA and to test with Asyra.

Yup....Dr. S. is my doctor. :)

I had asked Scott last night if there were other Dr.'s around...or is Dr. S. the the one with the most experience? He said Dr. S. is very good but heavy metals is not necessarily his primary focus...but then again he said he didnt know of *any* Dr. that focused primarily on heavy metals.

Thats when he suggested you call Dr. G. to find out which Dr. he likes to work with when doing amalgam removals. So I guess the answer is Dr. S. :)

The reason I didnt tell you to go to Dr. S. is that I already know how he will proceed with you. Yes...he is good and he knows his stuff....BUT he wont want to put you on any treatments because of how sick you are. He will want you to go to my BioSET practitioner to be evaluated and he'll want to have her help you get desensitized to some things and to work on your pathways and get you more stabilized before he'll start treating you.

He will also want to test you for Lyme.

I think this is the best way for you to go....its exactly the road that I've been on...its the same Dr.'s I'm seeing (except Dr. Amy). The only thing is that its *expensive*. The initial visit with Dr. S. is expensive because he will do alot of testing. You already have had your heavy metal testing so thats a big plus....but the other tests do add up. I spent around $800 on my initial visit.....but I have insurance which paid for half of everything.

BioSET is also expensive.....BioSET was actually my biggest expense so far.....but I was going twice a week for several months. You dont have to go that often if you cant afford it. They recommend you go once a week but if you cant afford it...you cant afford it.

BioSET is energetic testing and its all alternative stuff. Anna....is WONDERFUL....shes VERY knowledgable but the whole process takes time. Its been about 9 months since I first started seeing Dr. S....I still have alot of work to do before I can start chelation.

If you can afford it all....it would be great for you. Thats something you would need to work out with your family. Dr. S. has alot of experience with patients like you and I who are very sensitive but he needs Anna's help in guiding treatment when people are reactive to supplements or medications.

I dont know how he would proceed with a patient who couldnt afford the BioSET stuff...or if someone just didnt want to do it. It wouldnt be very helpful to just got to BioSET once or twice....you would need to continue with treatment.....maybe you could go twice a month or something. I was going at least 8 x a month but I didnt really have to go that often...I just wanted to speed things up.

How is he? Would it be worth it to go and see him or not? I don't want to spent any unnessesary money too not but I really need a knowlegable doctor. I think it's cool they don't allow fragrances in the office.

Yeah...they dont allow fragrances....most of the patients have Lyme Disease and/or heavy metals. Lots of people with chemical sensitivities. All of the staff are GREAT....I love going there...everyone is very friendly and most of them know me by first name now. :)

They appointment is on the 20th of this month or something. He is booked up.

Did you schedule with Dr. S. for the 20th?

I think the gelatin thing is right. Remember charcoal, gelatin, chicken broth, gelatin, and my new supplement that I had pain, gelatin.

Yup....gelatin...this is one reason I got alot better when I stopped taking supplements. I now take ALL of my supplements out of the capsule. I have never taken my charcoal in the capsule.

Re: food diary

Um, I don't. I guess it's because not many of my symptoms are food related.

I do write on my calendar when I have herxes, but that's the extent of it. My daughter keeps a symptom diary. I don't want to ... I don't want proof that I'm sick. :P I'm the "glass is half full" type ... I only want to know how I feel good. ;)

Oh hehe I didn't take into account ppl here w/out food-related issues.

While running the gauntlet of mystery intolerances from leaky-gut & figuring out right candida diet, my food/symptom diary was invaluable. :)

Never, no way no how do I get to Now w/out it.

It's not about documenting feeling crappy, but rather what did I eat and when that made me feel that way.

I had 3 groups - stuff that had reaction in < a minute (seconds sometimes); foods w/ a reaction in 5-10min; foods that did it in ~40min or so.

There could be day where I'd feel sudden D and prickly face and hdache on the crown of head & if I had to I could compare everything that was eaten in the 3days prior w/ that eaten 2 months b4 when I felt all 3 same symptoms, or 2 of 3 symp and find that aha! the only thing in common was those gluten-free waffles the day before!!! And off the list they go. (Made up example, but based on some truth. The canola in the waffles messes me up)

It's just too complicated to figure out otherwise.

[uh oh smarmy(?) alert?]

I only want to feel better & better, more and more often.

Tom, what is bad about the chicken with skin and bones? Is it the fat? I eat that part FOR the fat ... I'm taking Mepron and need a high fat diet ... but I'm curious what problems it was causing for you. Is it that as a celiac you have trouble with fat?

All about the candida for me. Not many foods that all the strict diets agree on, but animal fat is one as it feeds the beast just like sugar.

I was fine w/ fatty fish (I know! Evil words for here), and fat from avocados, evoo, 4-5 types of nuts etc.

What can I say? Seems I'm done w/ candida, tho I still do 95% of the diet. I'm good now, why experiment?

Dear tom,

That barbeque sounded great! Especially the part about the seagull stealing the sausage from the grill! They are not dumb birds! It is amazing what animals accomplish! The next time everyone that was there goes to a barbecue, they will instinctively duck by the grill!

If we grilled a duck maybe the gulls get too scared to get close enough for thievery!!

So, you are moving back to SJ. When do you think you will be there?

Not sure yet. Lots to work out.

Not even a good guess.

Phx is great to visit when it's winter everywhere else. Rest of the year, forget it!

You are going to Portland for a month first? Wow, where do you get the time to travel? What work do you do anyway?

Hehe work. I've had some time off.

Guess I never mentioned it except in PMs. I had to quit in '97 because I just wasn't capable any longer of doing even a *poor* job.

It was elec engr in memory chips.

Astronomy is cool. I always loved looking at pictures of the planets from space. It is mystifying!

Ohhhhhhhh u should check these sites. Well, 2 diff pages of same site. APOD is AstroPicOftheDay. Last couple days not so fun. I like nebulae.

http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/lib/aptree.html

http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html

I particularly loved "Africa" by Toto, "Man Eater" by Hall and Oats, and so many more!

At same time I liked Pretenders 1st 2 albums & The Police better. But I did see Toto in Chi in '79 and my 1st bar band did Maneater. (That IS the one w/ echo on sax solo right?)

Contrarian Spice is at it again! I bet he is the one spreading those rumors . . . . .

<wagging finger> Oh No u Di'-int!!!

Neither me nor C.Spice were involved in the least!!

I am not keeping a food diary at the moment. I will soon. I need to do a rotation diet. This will help identify other sensitivities.

Ack! Hehe I thought u started a food diary wks ago!

Can't overstate how much it helped me.

I thought this was intersting.

Yes, incredibly.

I'd heard of the correlation betw gum disease and heart disease, but this sounds like they filled in all the gaps in how and why while I wasn't lookin'!! :o

Verrrrry interesting.

Didn't tom talk about how cucumbers need peeled because of that?

I mentioned cucumber skin b4 (don't tell me THAT ranked a 'tap'!) but it was in a "no idea why" category for me.

For candida diet, I read several times that tho cucumber was fine, the skin wasn't.

Turned out I didn't think the cuke itself was fine for me either.

Bah I accidentally erased the other part, where I praised the amazingness of Jin. Or maybe C.Spice did that, the troublemaker.

What do YOU think I should do?

I sure don't know enough about Lyme to comment about that aspect, but I've been a Seoul Man a few times and on that end I recommend it highly.

Maybe it was that the prev trips were more towards 3rd world Asia, but Korea is a great (oops South Korea!) modern place.

Wish I had a way to shorten my Carpenters/LotteWorld story but I don't.

Huge city - didn't get much time to explore. Terra Cotta soldier site was cool. We mostly hear only of Chinese doing that trick.

Itaewon district incredible for leather jackets, purses etc. (Non-leather stuff too)

. . . . .- I consider you my official council (ha and counsel!)

I can't pan fry nothing, it hurts more. I don't want to use the same ovens as my mom does to make cookies and pizza and stuff.

Pan fry = using some oil?

U could try it w/ a little water instead.

[***Emergency Edit!!*** Lisa ignore rest of my post & see Rachel's immed following!! (hehe u prob ignored it already)]

But better yet - how about making foil packets(pockets?) for baking?

U can completely seal your food from everything. Not tight foil. Cooking sites will have diagrams or vids. Loose so steam does its thing.

Most ppl would put veg sidedish next to meat and/or onions, peppers, garlic etc right on the meat.

I dunno what u could put in there for now. But about anything will cook fine, considering all the variations I've seen.

Lisa,

Dont wrap your food in aluminum foil. You're already toxic from heavy metals...dont want to add more to it. A couple years ago I was using aluminum to cook everything while I was on the candida diet....mercury and aluminum showed up the highest in my ART sessions.

Oh...I was also stupidly eating fish everyday...cooking fish on aluminum foil.

Your body is holding onto metals....it will hold onto aluminum too.

Also....dont fry your meat in water...thats basically doing the same thing as when you boil it...its creating all those free glutamates. Try cooking the meats w/out the water and see if you feel any better with the intestinal pains. If you're really having problems with the gelatin...then you wont want to preapre your food in ways which create alot of free glutamate.

Happy 4th of July everyone! Hope everyone can enjoy the day as best as possible.

For the third year in a row, I will be going to a parade. This isn't just any parade, lol. Every year the members of one neighborhood get together and have a parade. They close off the streets and the whole neighborhood has a parade...with floats and all!! It's really fun. One of the families in our church opens their home (it's on the parade route)...one of my good friends invited me two years ago...once you're in, you're in for life. So, even if my friend doesn't go, they say I can come. Anyway, they have a huge backyard, and lots of the church shows up each year and there is lots of fun and eating.

My friend explained my situation this year (last year didn't know half of what was wrong with me, so just avoided gluten), so the hostess is worried about the food situation...sheesh, my own mother won't feed me anymore...surely don't expect someone who doesn't know me well to feed me. I'll take my egg salad and some evil cashews. :P That will tide me over til I can get home to my ribeye!

I looked into Rolfing a few years ago, but never followed up on it...I know at that time there were a few practitioners in our area. Sounded like something very, very beneficial. Hum, still may have to look into that for my neck.

Dr. S is also my doctor and I would recommend him highly! Like Rachel said, he will proceed slowly. I'm not nearly as toxic as Rachel is, but I am toxic enough that he is not rushing into anything (so as not to push me more to the toxic side). He will check for EVERYTHING, not just concentrate on mercury or lyme. I like that about him. I think in order to make us well, he (or any doctor) has to have the whole picture. Once they know exactly what all they are facing they can proceed with the best and safest treatments.

Anyway, Dr. S ran all sorts of testing on me...lyme, metals, mold, vitamins, elements, thyroid antibodies, etc, etc. He will make recommendations on what you can do in your environment, etc.

I also see the BioSET practitioner that Rachel sees and again, I recommend them highly! They were really helpful in figuring out WHAT I could take and how much and the testing was very accurate in all regards except for Lyme for me. The lyme issue wasn't found by BioSET because my body does not have a sensitivity to it.

I also see Scott for my ART sessions every couple of months.

I have some really fascinating scientificness to share.

...

If anyone wants to listen to this interview its on his site....recorded July 12th, 2006.

http://www.klinghardt.org/heavy_metals.htm

Wow, very interesting indeed. I see myself in so much of that. :( I wonder if I can listen to it at home with my dial-up...will it keep spooling?!? I'll try later after the parade.

Sorry, couple more points about Dr. S...

Lisa, if you decide to see Dr. S don't be surprised if he recommends totally different supplements than he does for Rachel or me (or recommends no supplements at all). He will recommend based on what YOU need. Rachel and I have many of the same issues: mold toxicity, candida, metals, lyme, chemical sensitivies, etc. but we're taking different stuff based on what he found in our testing and our BioSET results, etc.

BioSET will work the same...

Also he is an MD, so that should please your parents. ;)
