gluten-free Beer

I just had my first beer in almost 14 months. It was a New Grist and to tell you the truth it was actually pretty good. I enjoyed it with some chips and salsa while watching the US Open Golf on tv. I had to get a relative to bring it in from a neighboring state but I think I am going to like it. I only got 12 bottles but I think it will last because I am starting to feel the effects after only the second bottle. Cheers!

I'm so jealous....I've tried to e-mail New Grist several times and it keeps coming back. So I then e-mailed the brewing company and NO RESPONE, ARGH! Can you look on your beer and see if there is a 1-800 #. I'm trying to find out if ANYONE around me carries the stuff or will carry the stuff anytime soon. Thanks!

      I hadn't been eating gluten free before having the antibody test done. I started eating gluten free after having the test done because the gastro PA told me to eat gluten-free for 6 months. I'm now 3 months in.

      I tend to agree with RMJ. Your doc took the reasonable and practical approach to diagnosis. All things considered, it was the right way to go. However, if you have first degree relatives that show signs of possible celiac disease, urge them to get formally tested before they start the gluten free diet.

      It sounds like you have a very reasonable GI doctor, who diagnosed you based on family history and symptoms after eating gluten. I would consider you lucky! The other option would be to make yourself very sick by doing weeks of a gluten challenge prior to an endoscopy.
