Hey everyone,

So after reading the article in this forum about how good amaranth is for you, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the amaranth products (such as the amaranth nuggetts and cereal) are any good...I just don't want to spend $5 on something I won't eat. Also has anyone used the Kinnickinnick baking products? I didn't even know they sold those but I saw them at Wild Oats. I would really like to find baking products that are higher in fiber and/or protein...it seems that all the baking mixes aren't all that nutritious...any suggestions? Thanks!

I know alot of people on here use Amaranth, I personally don't like the taste. The only time I can abide it is if its a small amount in a flour mixture. I got the bread crumbs and the crackers and just couldn't do it. I never got to trying the cereal.

At one time Nu-World Amaranth was sending out samples of their cereal. I got some samples and that was the nastiest stuff ever! I wouldn't waste my money on it.........but like with everything it is a matter of taste. Some people like it, others don't. I am just one that doesn't.

I haven't liked most of the amaranth products I've had, though I enjoy the taste of the flour when used appropriately in a mix, but I like the whole grain. The stuff in cereals and crackers... eh... they do something nasty to it.

I also like the whole grain--great in cooking! I bought some of the puffed side dish...not so great. I also had a clerk at Wild Oats stop by b/c she thought I was looking at the cereal (I wasn't though...) and told me "Don't buy it, its henious!" :blink:

Not at all. Whole grain means that the whole of the grain is present, and the germ and bran has not been removed in processing, no matter what the grain. Brown rice, for instance, is a whole grain, the processed version of which is white rice. Corn on the cob is a whole grain. The only grains that contain gluten are wheat, barley, rye, and a few celiacs react to oats as well. All the other grains do not contain gluten.

      sorry a bit confused so I should take my B complex along with Objective Nutrients Thiamax for TTFD but what about a Benfotiamine to take. The Life extensions contains Benfotiamine and Thiamine together or im confusing myself. I am trying to see if I take Thiamax what should I take for Benfotiamine. Thanks EDITING after further research I see ones water soluble ones fat soluble. So I guess 100MG as you suggested of Life Extension contains Benfotiamine and Thiamine Hydrochloride. and the Objective Nutrients Thiamax contains TTFD.     would work for me.

      I put on over 12kg by eating protein with every meal, 3 to 5 times a day. Eggs, Chicken, Tuna, Turkey etc. I stay away from too much red meat as it can be inflammatory. Scott is correct. I've come across a bunch of Coeliac PT's on Tiktok and Instagram. They all say the same thing, the key is getting enough protein and consistency.
