I know that the Heinz 57 isn't gluten free, but how do I know which ketchup this is? My DH just got me a bottle of ketchup on it that says 57 on it. I need to know if I can still use it.

Regular heinz ketchup is gluten-free. The organic isn't.

Heinz puts "57" on all their products, but heinz 57 sauce is what is not gluten-free. This is what the heinz 57 bottle looks like http://shopuncleharrys.dukestores.duke.edu...d%201%20022.webp

yeah the organic is the only ketchup that is not gluten-free of theirs.

Whew.... Thanks! That's what I thought, but I wanted to be sure before diving in.

i have regular all the time, for sure gluten-free!

According to all the "smartlists" and databases I was able to check just now, Heinz 57 Ketchup IS gluten-free!!

All Heinz Ketchups EXCEPT THE ORGANIC (which I've never seen in the store) are gluten-free.

I just looked at my bottle, and the ingredients look fine.

Wondering where you got that info!

Below is quoted from the Heinz web site:

Where can I find gluten-free products?

Heinz Ketchup does not contain any gluten (the distilled vinegar used is from corn sources). Also, Wine Vinegar, Distilled White Vinegar and Apple Cider Vinegar are gluten-free. Please note that Heinz Organic Ketchup and Apple Cider Flavored Vinegar are not gluten-free.

Heinz Hot & Spicy Ketchup Kick'rs is gluten-free as well. As for our other Heinz products, we are not able to guarantee that all ingredients would be gluten-free, since the source of an ingredient may change from time to time. We understand how difficult it can be finding foods that meet the requirements of a restricted diet, and we continue to look for ways to meet the dietary needs of our consumers.

Franceen, It's the Heinz 57 *sauce* that is not gluten-free. The number "57" is on the label of the ketchups--even the safe ones. :)

That's why I was questioning it, because my old bottle of ketchup DIDN'T have the 57 on it and this new bottle does. I figured it was the same stuff, but I wanted to make sure. That would've been a silly slip up.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
